The Orioles are hoping to add Lopez (undisclosed) to their roster soon, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

Lopez is still going through COVID-19 intake screening, but it sounds like the right-hander could be cleared to rejoin the Orioles later in the week if all goes well. Prior to being claimed off waivers, Lopez made one appearance for the Royals and allowed two runs on three hits while recording just two outs.

Littell (hamstring) is expected to return from the injured list prior to Friday's game, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Littell has been sidelined since the beginning of August due to a left hamstring strain. However, he'll return after spending just over the minimum of 10 days on the injured list. The right-hander made two appearances prior to his injury, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one over three innings. He should continue to play a middle relief role once he returns.

Colome didn't allow a baserunner and had a strikeout during a scoreless ninth inning to record the save Wednesday in Detroit.

The veteran right-hander handled the Tigers with ease, throwing 11 of his 16 pitches for strikes while retiring the side in order. Colome has given up five hits and has a 7:1 K:BB through eight scoreless innings while converting all five save chances this season.

Devenski (arm) has progressed to throwing off a mound, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

A sore arm sent Devenski to the injured list at the start of August. He remains without a clear timetable, but given that he hasn't been out too long and that he's already back to throwing off a mound, he may not wind up missing too many more games.

Kittredge appears to be headed for Tommy John surgery after an MRI revealed a tear in his UCL on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Kittredge left his start Tuesday against the Red Sox with the injury after just five pitches, and it turns out those may end up being the last pitches he throws in a big-league game until 2022. A typical recovery timeline from Tommy John surgery would give him at best an outside shot to pitch very late in the 2021 campaign.

Romano struck out a batter in a scoreless frame en route to earning his fifth hold of the season Tuesday in the Blue Jays' 5-4 win over the Marlins in 10 innings.

Romano hasn't gotten a look as the Blue Jays' closer since Ken Giles was shut down July 26 with a forearm strain, but the 27-year-old has unquestionably been the team's most dominant reliever in the early going. He's opened the season with eight scoreless appearances, striking out 11 while giving up no hits and three walks. Fill-in closer Anthony Bass coughed up a three-run lead Tuesday to blow his first save, potentially loosening his hold on the ninth-inning job.

Thornton (elbow) is expected to play catch from 120 feet Wednesday, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said Thornton is "progressing" and could be cleared for mound work in the near future if everything goes well during his long-toss session. The right-hander has been on the IL since Aug. 6 with elbow inflammation.

Weber was recalled by Boston on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Weber made three poor starts for the Red Sox earlier this season, posing a 9.90 ERA, a 2.40 and a 3:9 K:BB. There's been no indication that he'll be a starter this time around, as he'll return to the roster in place of outfielder Andrew Benintendi, who landed on the injured list with a strained right rib cage in a corresponding move.

Chapman (illness) will throw another simulated game Friday, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

A battle with COVID-19 cost Chapman most of summer camp. He's been back with the team for nearly two weeks and is presumably closing in on his return, though the Yankees have yet to announce exactly when they expect that to happen.

Kittredge was diagnosed with a sprained right UCL on Wednesday and placed on the 45-day injured list, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Kittredge left Tuesday's start after just five pitches with what was originally called elbow soreness, but the injury was evidently much more severe than that. The timing of the injury means that Kittredge could technically be eligible to return for the final three games of the year, but the nature of the injury makes that seem highly unlikely. Surgery could potentially be on the table for the righty, though that's yet to be announced.
