Harvey (biceps) threw a scoreless inning while notching one strikeout Friday against the Tigers.

He did not allow a hit or a walk in his first game back after missing almost two weeks with biceps soreness. Harvey should pitch in high-leverage situations over the rest of the season and could challenge Mychal Givens for saves in 2020.

De Leon is slated to be added to the major-league roster Saturday now that Triple-A Durham's season has ended, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

De Leon was up briefly for the Rays in August, generating a 3.00 ERA across three innings over a pair of appearances. The right-hander made a successful return from Tommy John surgery this season at the Triple-A level, posting a 2-1 record, 3.51 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 73:27 K:BB across 51.1 innings while making 13 starts for the Bulls overall. He'll add depth to the Rays' staff down the stretch and will become the franchise-record 37th player on the active roster once he's officially activated.

Mayza has a torn UCL and will require Tommy John surgery, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

This will wipe out Mayza's 2020 season as well, but he should be fully recovered in time for spring training in 2021. He logged a 4.91 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 51.1 innings this season.

Diplan was designated for assignment on Saturday.

The Brewers sent him to the Twins for cash back on July 31, and Diplan logged a 3.14 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 14 strikeouts in 14.1 innings (10 games) since the trade. All told, he has a 4.03 ERA in 38 innings at the Double-A level since transitioning to the bullpen.

Alcala's contract was selected from Triple-A Rochester prior to Saturday's doubleheader against the Indians.

A hard-throwing righty whose fastball can touch triple digits, Alcala has not allowed a run while striking out 11 in 7.2 innings (five appearances) since getting promoted to Triple-A. He had been developed as a starting pitcher earlier in the year, but it's not surprising that the Twins have moved him to a relief role, where his shaky command may not be as big of a hindrance.

Smeltzer will start Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Indians.

He gave up two earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five in four innings against Cleveland on Sept. 8. Smeltzer could have success in this start, but it's far from a lock that the he will go deep enough to qualify for the win. He has logged six-plus innings in three of his eight MLB appearances while failing to log five innings in four of the eight.

Burke didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 14-9 loss to the A's, surrendering six runs on six hits and a walk over three innings while striking out two.

For the second consecutive start, Burke got tagged for three homers and six runs after not allowing a long ball through his first 18 big-league innings. The rookie southpaw will take a 5.19 ERA and 14:9 K:BB through 26 frames into his next outing Sept. 20, on the road in a rematch with Oakland.

Colome allowed two hits and a walk but didn't surrender a run over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Friday's 9-7 win over the Mariners.

Colome struck out one in the appearance. The closer was called to the mound after Aaron Bummer allowed a pair of runs in the eighth, and Colome was able to escape the jam before handling the ninth. He owns a 2.40 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 56.1 innings this season, and now has 27 saves.

Covey allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks over 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Friday. He struck out two.

Covey was able to keep the ball in the yard in this contest, but a three-run first inning and a two-run single from Shed Long in the fourth were enough to end the right-hander's night fairly early. Covey now owns a 7.98 ERA and 1.76 WHIP across 58.2 innings this season. The 28-year-old is penciled in for his next start Wednesday versus the heavy-hitting Twins.

Kay allowed five runs on seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts across 4.1 innings during a no-decision against the Yankees on Friday.

After a dazzlingly debut, Kay fell back to earth Friday in a tough matchup. He still posted 11 swinging strikes, but the Yankees also fouled off 23 pitches, thus avoiding too many punchouts. Kay struck out eight in his MLB debut. He still has 10 strikeouts in 10 MLB frames, but he's also yielded seven runs and 11 hits with four walks, which means he owns a 6.30 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Kay will face an easier task in his next start at the Orioles on Thursday.
