Harvey claimed his first big-league win after striking out two in a perfect eighth inning Tuesday in the Orioles' 4-1 win over the Royals.

Harvey has only made two appearances since receiving the call to the big leagues last weekend and may have already secured a key late-inning role for the Orioles. He's allowed just one baserunner through his first two innings, retiring four of the seven hitters he's faced via strikeout. That small sample might be enough for Harvey to garner trust from manager Brandon Hyde while few other intriguing relief arms remain at the skipper's disposal.

Leclerc was charged with his fourth blown save in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Angels in the second game of a doubleheader. He gave up a solo home run and struck out two in his lone inning of work.

Leclerc failed to protect a 2-1 lead entering the top of the ninth, retiring the first hitter he faced before Brian Goodwin took him deep for the game-tying run. The right-hander was at least able to bounce back well and put away the next two hitters, so his standing as the Rangers' closer shouldn't change as a result of the outing. Leclerc had converted each of his prior three save chances in August but has issued six walks in seven innings on the month.

Boshers didn't factor into the decision while working as the Blue Jays' opening pitcher in Tuesday's 16-3 loss to the Dodgers. He retired three of the four hitters he faced, walking one and striking out another.

Deployed as a "starter" for the first time all season, Boshers was able to navigate the top of the Dodgers' order without incident before giving way to Sean Reid-Foley. Things quickly fell apart from there, but Boshers' efforts may have earned him another opportunity as an opener if manager Charlie Montoyo elects to go that route again in the final few weeks of the season.

The Rays optioned Milner to Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Milner's stay with the big club lasted just two days, with the lefty reliever making one two-inning appearance for Tampa Bay. The Rays will replace Milner in the bullpen with right-hander Aaron Slegers, who was called up from Durham in a corresponding move.

Barrie didn't factor into the decision in a 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Rangers during the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over five innings while striking out four.

The right-hander rejoined the rotation after a brief stay at Triple-A Salt Lake, and while he was able to limit the damage for once, Barria was still in line for his seventh loss until the Angels rallied to tie the game in the eighth and ninth innings. He now sports a 6.35 ERA and 55:17 K:BB through 56.2 big-league innings this year, and with a couple of off days coming up for the club, it's not clear when Barria might make another start, or even whether he'll be optioned down again for a fresh arm.

Burke allowed four hits and two walks while striking out four over six scoreless inning in a no-decision Tuesday against the Angels.

Burke was called up from Triple-A Nashville to make his debut in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader. The rookie left-hander had one tense moment in the sixth inning when he faced Albert Pujols with two men on and two out, but Burke retired him on a flyball to maintain the status quo. Burke is expected to remain in the rotation and is next expected to start Sunday on the road against the White Sox.

Lopez (7-11) took the loss against the Twins on Tuesday, pitching six innings and giving up seven runs (three earned) on six hits. He struck out three and did not walk a batter.

Lopez served up homers in the third and fourth innings to surrender three runs, but it was a defensive lapse behind him in the fifth that opened the floodgates for Minnesota. After Lopez retired two of the first three batters in the inning, Jose Abreu dropped a sure out at first base to extend the frame. The following three hitters reached base, leading to four unearned runs and putting the game out of reach. Lopez now owns a 5.25 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 132:54 K:BB in 147.1 innings. He'll have a rematch at home against Minnesota on Tuesday in his next scheduled start.

Beeks (5-3) allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out four across five innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Mariners.

Beeks entered the game in the second inning and turned in three scoreless innings to begin his night. However, things took a turn for the worse when an error allowed the leadoff runner in the fifth frame to reach base, and Beeks went on to allow two hits, a walk and a wild pitch to account for his two unearned runs. One inning later, he surrendered a two-run homer to Tom Murphy, the deciding hit of the contest. Beeks has faltered since the All-Star break, as his ERA has ballooned from 2.79 to 4.10 in seven appearances. He'll look to get back on track in his next appearance, likely to come Sunday at Baltimore.

Gearrin will serve as the opener Wednesday at Tampa Bay, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Gearrin also worked as an opener once in June, but he's otherwise been utilized as a more traditional middle reliever. The 33-year-old has a 3.79 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 37:20 K:BB over 40.1 innings this season. Lefty Wade LeBlanc is expected to follow as Wednesday's primary pitcher.

Johnson (1-2) allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four across 3.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Phillies.

Johnson allowed all three of his earned runs in the first inning, as the Phillies collected four hits and a walk. He settled in after that, allowing three baserunners in his final 2.2 innings of work. Johnson's last five appearances have all come as a starter, though he's managed to work five frames just once in that span. That shaky stretch hasn't helped his bottom line, as he now owns a 6.58 ERA and 2.04 WHIP across 26 innings for the season. Johnson may not take a turn as a starter anytime in the near future as the Red Sox have three scheduled off days over the next nine days.
