Hendriks struck out three over 1.2 perfect innings to record his seventh save of the season in Friday's 5-3 win over the Twins.

He continues to give Blake Treinen no openings to reclaim the closer job in Oakland, not that Treinen is pitching well enough right now to be much of a threat. Hendriks has yet to blow a save since taking over in the ninth inning and he hasn't even given up a run since June 5, leading to a dazzling 1.17 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 68:17 K:BB through 53.2 innings on the year.

Sadzeck (elbow) continues to play catch but has yet to throw off a mound, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Sadzeck is at the team's spring training facility in Peoria, Arizona during his recovery. The right-hander had already upped his throwing distance to 120 feet a week ago, so he would appear to be on the verge of taking the next step in his rehabilitation.

Adams (shoulder) is playing catch from 105 feet and is working toward a bullpen session, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Adams will need to work up to 120 feet before he's able to partake in a bullpen session, but this latest reports implies he's not very far off that benchmark. The right-hander, who'd generated 16 scoreless appearances over 22 outings prior to his injury, will go on a rehab assignment before his eventual activation.

Barria (3-3) was charged with the loss against the Mariners on Friday after surrendering 10 runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out four over 3.2 innings.

He replaced opener Taylor Cole in the third inning with the score tied 0-0. Barria's nemesis proved to be hard-hitting Daniel Vogelbach, who slugged a pair of three-run homers off the right-hander in back-to-back plate appearances. Barria, who was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake ahead of Friday's game, has made eight appearances (three starts) this season for the Angels, putting together a 7.36 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB. He's scheduled to make his next start against the Orioles on Thursday.

Staumont will be recalled from Triple-A Omaha prior to Saturday's game against the Indians, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.

Staumont has pitched well with the Naturals this season despite his usual control issues, posting a 3.16 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with a 74:37 K:BB over 51.1 innings. He figures to work out of the bullpen with the big-league club, though he's made 12 starts at Triple-A in 2019.

Lopez (5-8) picked up the win after allowing two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings Friday night against the Rays.

Lopez gave up a run in the first inning on a single to right center, and he allowed another in the second, but he was able to settle down and toss five scoreless frames to close out his night. The 25-year-old right-hander has been sharp coming out of the All-Star break, allowing just two runs over his last two starts (13 innings) while fanning 15.

Manaea (shoulder) will likely make his next rehab start Tuesday at Triple-A Las Vegas and throw around 75 pitches in the outing, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Manaea tossed 3.2 scoreless frames during his last start with High-A Stockton, proving that he's ready to rehab at a higher level. He'll likely require at least two or three starts with the Aviators before Oakland considers activating the southpaw from the 60-day injured list, however.

Chavez will pitch out of the bullpen moving forward, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Chavez didn't even make it out of the first inning during Wednesday's start, surrendering seven runs over just two-thirds of an inning before being removed. As a result, he'll move to a relief role. The right-hander owns a 4.72 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with a 62:20 K:BB over 68.2 innings this season (nine starts).

Alexander could be called up to start Sunday against Toronto, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Alexander was scratched from his start Friday with Triple-A Toledo, making him seem like an obvious choice to handle Sunday's assignment. The 25-year-old has one career big-league appearance, giving up two runs in a five-inning start in early July.

Heller was diagnosed with a flexor strain Friday, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Heller was on the homestretch of his recovery from Tommy John surgery when his rehab assignment was paused earlier in the week. He'll be shut down from throwing for a week but could still have time to pitch before the end of the season if his recovery proceeds without hitches once he resumes throwing.
