Jimenez was optioned to Triple-A Toledo following Saturday's loss to the Royals.

Jimenez was recalled July 6 by the Tigers and allowed one run over two appearances during his brief stint in the majors. The 24-year-old returns to Toledo, where he has a 2.92 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 33:16 K:BB over 37 innings this season.

Giles will not undergo an MRI on his sore right elbow, Gregor Chisholm of the Toronto Star reports.

Giles was unavailable during a save situation Saturday against the Yankees due to a minor issue stemming from a massage he received over the All-Star break. He downplayed the issue, calling it, "Nothing serious. Just a little fatigue." He's considered day-to-day.

Hudson allowed one run on two hits and a walk in 1.1 innings against the Yankees on Saturday but escaped with his second save of the season. He struck out one batter.

Hudson allowed the Yankees' only run of the game, but after Aaron Judge's RBI single, Hudson rebounded to strike out Luke Voit looking. Afterward, manager Charlie Montoyo told Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca that regular closer Ken Giles is dealing with nerve inflammation in his elbow and is day-to-day.

We should be skeptical of the Blue Jays' claim that Giles is day-to-day, given the nature and location of the injury and the fact that Toronto would probably like to trade their closer before the deadline if possible. The Blue Jays had a save situation Saturday, and Daniel Hudson picked up the save, but not before he allowed a run on two hits and a walk in 1.1 innings.

Fairbanks was traded from the Rangers to the Rays on Saturday in exchange for Nick Solak.

Fairbanks reached the majors for the first time this season, struggling to a 9.35 ERA in 8.2 innings of work. He struck out an impressive 36.6 percent of opposing hitters but also walked 17.1 percent, and four of the seven fly balls he's allowed have left the park. The 25-year-old is a live arm who could help the Rays' bullpen at some point if he gets the walks under control, but he'll head to Triple-A Durham for now.

Scott was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

This is a corresponding move to Dylan Bundy (knee) being placed on the 10-day injured list. The right-handed relief pitcher had a brief stint as an opener for the Mariners earlier this season, allowing 10 runs (eight earned), striking out seven and walking six across 7.2 innings. Whether he'll serve in a similar role or work primarily out of the bullpen for the Orioles in Bundy's absence has yet to be determined.

Hearn (elbow) is throwing long toss out to 120 feet, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.

It's been a slow rehab path for Hearn, the left-hander who made his MLB debut earlier this season. The Rangers are in need of starting pitching and could turn to the rookie for some work down the stretch. However, given his relative inexperience and the Rangers competing for the playoffs, the team might look elsewhere for a starter.

Gibaut was sent back to Triple-A Durham, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

It was a brief appearance for Gibaut, who was called up just days before the All-Star break. In just two innings of work against the Orioles on Friday, the 25-year-old gave up two earned runs on one hit with two strikeouts and two walks. He will now be sent back down to Triple-A, where he has logged a 1.93 ERA with 16 strikeouts over just 9.1 innings. The Rays activated first baseman Ji-Man Choi (left ankle) from the injured list in a corresponding move.

The White Sox will activate Covey (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list and he'll start Saturday against the Athletics.

After completing a three-start minor-league rehab assignment, Covey will get the green light to make his first appearance with the big club since June 5. Prior to going down with the shoulder injury, Covey posted a 4.58 ERA and 22:20 K:BB in 37.1 innings spanning nine outings (seven starts).

Chavez didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 9-8 win over the Astros, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over 5.1 innings while striking out three.

It was a wild night at Globe Life Park, with the two teams combining for nine homers and Chavez only escaping his third straight loss thanks to a late Texas rally from an 8-4 deficit. The right-hander now has a 3.84 ERA and 62:19 K:BB through 68 innings, and with the Rangers getting two off days next week, Chavez should receive some extra rest before his next start.
