Treinen yielded two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk Sunday, striking out one and earning the save over Texas.

Treinen was called on to protect what was thought to be a comfortable 9-6 lead, but he certainly made things interesting. He allowed a pair of singles in between a couple of outs before a third single and a passed ball brought home two runs. The 30-year-old forced Ronald Guzman to line out with two on to end the contest. Treinen's ERA is up to 3.34, but he's still 14-of-16 in save chances and has a solid grip on the job in Oakland.

The Rays transferred Alvarado (personal) to the restricted list ahead of Sunday's 6-1 win over the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Alvarado has yet to rejoin the team and had already been sidelined for the minimum seven days allotted for players on the family medical emergency list, prompting Tampa Bay to reclassify his status. Manager Kevin Cash said that Alvarado's absence likely won't drag on for much longer, going as far to suggest the hard-throwing lefty could be reinstated as soon as Monday or Tuesday.

Johnson (elbow) tossed four innings in his rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Pawtucket, giving up one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six.

Johnson looked sharp in his sixth rehab start, allowing no extra-base hits while pumping in 36 of 62 pitches for strikes. Considering the lefty's 30-day rehab window will come to a close Thursday, there's a good chance his next appearance will come with the big club. Johnson has mostly worked in relief for Boston over the past two seasons but could be viewed as a candidate for the No. 5 spot in the rotation, which has remained unsettled since Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) landed on the injured list April 20.

Lopez (4-6) allowed one run on a walk and four hits across six innings Sunday, striking out eight and taking the win over Kansas City.

The lone run to score off Lopez came from a Jorge Soler solo homer in the fourth frame. Sunday's outing was much-needed for the 25-year-old after he gave up 19 runs over his three previous outings. He also walked fewer than two batters for the first time since May 8. Lopez's inconsistency has cursed him with a 6.21 ERA across 75.1 innings on the year. He'll see the Yankees at home Saturday.

Chapman (1-1) gave up one run (no earned) on one hit and one walk while striking out one through one inning, but he ended up taking the win over the Indians on Sunday.

Chapman entered the game with a one-run lead and put a runner in scoring position after committing a throwing error on a pickoff attempt. That run came around to score to give the left-hander his second blown save. The Yankees came through with the go-ahead in the 10th inning, though, to give Chapman his first win of the season. This outing looks more like the exception than the rule for Chapman; he hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 12 outings. He boasts a 1.40 ERA with 18 saves through 27 appearances.

The Angels optioned Peters to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Peters worked as the primary pitcher in Saturday's 12-3 win over the Mariners and limited the opposition to three runs on seven hits and no walks over 5.2 innings. Despite his solid showing, Peters won't stick around with the big club since the Angels will get by with a four-man rotation during the upcoming week due to Wednesday's off day.

The White Sox placed Covey on the 10-day injured list Sunday with right shoulder inflammation.

According to Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times, Covey has been contending with the sore shoulder for his last few starts, the most recent of which came June 5 in Washington. Covey indicated that a recent MRI revealed "nothing alarming," but he'll nonetheless require further evaluation when the team returns to Chicago on Monday. The White Sox will first require a replacement in the rotation for Covey either Monday or Tuesday against the Nationals.

Pruitt was optioned to Triple-A Durham following the second game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Pruitt acted as Tampa Bay's 26th man for the twin bill and covered the bulk of the innings in the nightcap behind Ryne Stanek. The right-hander ultimately didn't factor into the decision in the 5-1 loss while allowing three runs on four hits and three walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out five batters in the outing, exceeding his combined total (four) from his previous four appearances with Tampa Bay.

McHugh (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle reports.

McHugh had thrown earlier this week, sessions that manager AJ Hinch described as less-than-full effort and off a slope. Saturday's session was the first time off a mound. Hinch offered no timetable for McHugh's return.

Bummer got the only batter he faced to earn his fourth hold in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Royals.

Bummer came on to mop up the eighth for Lucas Giolito and held the fort for closer Alex Colome to save the game. It was the second straight Giolito start in which Bummer entered the eighth inning with men on and held the lead. Bummer has allowed one earned run over 17.1 innings and moved into a prominent bullpen role.
