Alvarado (personal), whose seven-day stint on the family medical emergency list ended Saturday, is likely to be moved to the restricted list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Alvarado remains in his native Venezuela tending to a family issue, necessitating the move. However, Topkin adds that the left-hander is expected back with the team early in the week, so his stay on the restricted list figures to be brief.

De Leon (elbow) has been granted one of three potential rehab assignment extensions for which pitchers recovering from Tommy John surgery are eligible, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

De Leon has already logged seven rehab outings, generating a 3.72 ERA in those appearances. The right-hander worked up to 63 pitches in his most recent start Friday, and the Rays would likely want to see him stretch out past the 80-pitch mark before activating him.

Peters (1-0) earned the win Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out four over 5.2 innings in a 12-3 win over the Mariners.

Peters took the mound in place of Noe Ramirez in the second inning and received plenty of run support from the Angels' bats. The solid performance gives Peters a 4.15 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 8.2 innings this season. The 26-year-old is most likely to work out of the bullpen while in the majors.

Scott allowed three runs on four hits and a walk over 2.2 innings in Saturday's 12-3 loss to the Angels.

Scott struck out four batters in his major-league debut, relieving struggling starter Yusei Kikuchi. The reliever is expected to be used in long-relief situations. He posted a 3-2 record with a 5.88 ERA over 33.2 innings with Triple-A Tacoma before he was called up by the Mariners on Friday.

Castro earned his second save of the season with 1.1 scoreless innings to close out Saturday's win over the Astros. He did not record a strikeout or allow a baserunner.

Castro needed only 11 pitches to get four outs, throwing only one pitch outside the strike zone in the process. The 24-year-old could seemingly see more high-leverage chances with Mychal Givens' recent demotion from the closer's role, but Castro has had his own struggles this season with a 5.35 ERA and 1.37 WHIP.

Ramirez (2-0) picked up the win Saturday against the Twins, giving up one run in three innings. He allowed three hits and three walks while also striking out three.

Detroit used Buck Farmer as an opener for the first two innings and then turned to Ramirez as their bulk pitcher Saturday. The 29-year-old allowed plenty of baserunners in his three innings of work, but he was able to limit the damage to just the lone run, and his offensive mates backed him up with nine runs of their own. Ramirez now has a 2.45 ERA over 22 innings, and he should remain in a long-relief role for the Tigers.

Torres had his contract selected from Triple-A Toledo by the Tigers after Saturday's game against the Twins, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Torres signed a minor-league deal with the Tigers in late May and finds his way to the majors less than two weeks later. The 36-year-old struggled during his brief stint with the Nationals last season, posting a 6.52 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB over 9.2 innings.

Green will serve as the opener for Sunday's bullpen day against Cleveland, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports.

Green has filled the opener role three times this season. He hasn't recorded more than six outs in any appearance, so he shouldn't be expected to pitch deep in Sunday's game.

Fairbanks' contract was selected from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Fairbanks hadn't pitched above High-A prior to this season, but he's made a rapid rise to the majors this year. In 23 innings across the three highest levels of the minors in 2019, he owns a 2.35 ERA, a 40.5 percent strikeout rate and a 5.6 percent walk rate. His track record is short, but it's hard to argue with the 25-year-old's numbers. Joe Palumbo was optioned to clear a spot on the 25-man roster, with Nick Gardewine designated for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster.

Palumbo was optioned to Double-A Frisco on Saturday.

Palumbo spent less than a day on the roster, allowing four runs in four innings in his major-league debut. Peter Fairbanks' contract was selected in a corresponding move.
