Adams was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Adams, who was acquired via trade after being designated for assignment by the Nationals earlier in the month, will take the roster spot of Dan Altavilla, who was sent to Double-A Arkansas on Monday. The 28-year-old Adams has spent most of the 2019 season in the minors, compiling a 2.19 ERA and 24:3 K:BB in 12.1 innings with Triple-A Fresno and Tacoma.

Loaisiga will be shut down from throwing for four weeks with a right rotator cuff strain, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Loaisiga will still have to build his arm strength back up once he resumes throwing, so he won't be back in big-league action for quite some time. The 24-year-old has a 4.50 ERA and an unimpressive 13:8 K:BB in 14 innings of work for the Yankees this season. Chance Adams was called up to take his place on the roster.

Loaisiga was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right shoulder strain.

This explains why Loaisiga was scratched from his scheduled start Monday, with Luis Cessa getting the ball in his place. The move is retroactive to Friday, making the 24-year-old Loaisiga eligible to return next Monday, if he proves ready. With an off day Thursday, the Yankees won't need a fifth starter until May 21. Prior to suffering the injury, the right-hander compiled a 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB in four appearances (three starts, 14 innings) for New York. Chance Adams was summoned from the minors to take Loaisiga's spot on the roster.

Hendriks has rattled off six straight scoreless appearances, and he's slightly bumped up his fastball's average velocity over last season (94.7 mph, compared to 94.3 mph) while posting a career-high strand rate (88.0 percent). While his first month-plus has been highly encouraging, Hendriks' career body of work -- he's only posted a sub-4.00 ERA twice -- lends credence to the notion a regression to some degree could be looming.

Green struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning during Sunday's 7-1 win over the Rays.

After a three-week stint at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Green rejoined the big club Sunday. Though he was eased back in with a low-leverage appearance, Green finally resembled the setup ace he had been over the prior two seasons. The right-hander not only delivered a spotless frame but also racked up six swinging strikes in only 13 pitches. Green may only need to turn in another quality outing or two before manager Aaron Boone is comfortable going back to him in key late-inning spots.

Loaisiga won't make his scheduled start Monday against the Orioles, with Luis Cessa receiving the nod instead, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.

No reports have surfaced suggesting that Loaisiga is dealing with an injury, so it's expected that he'll still be available out of the bullpen for the series opener. Given that Cessa has topped out at 3.1 innings and 61 pitches for the big club this season, it's possible that he's deployed as more of an opening pitcher than a traditional starter, which may allow Loaisiga to serve as a bulk reliever Monday and factor into the decision. The uncertainty regarding Loaisiga's workload probably takes him out of consideration for DFS contests, but he could still pick up enough innings during the Yankees' six-game week to make for a worthy streaming option in deeper mixed and AL-only leagues.

Mayza allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless eighth inning during Sunday's loss to the White Sox.

After a rough start to the season, the southpaw has now reeled off nine straight scoreless appearances, posting an 11:3 K:BB over nine innings during that stretch. Mayza now sports a respectable 3.71 ERA and 1.24 WHIP, and he's already set a new career high with six holds.

Hand struck out one in the ninth inning Sunday against the Athletics to pick up the save.

Hand was hit with the loss Saturday night after surrendering a walkoff homer in the bottom of the 12th inning, but he managed to redeem himself in the series finale by slamming the door. He needed just eight pitches (six strikes) to do so. The left-hander owns a 1.53 ERA and 0.85 WHIP with 25 strikeouts through 17.2 innings this season.

Mengden took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four over 5.1 innings Sunday against Cleveland.

Mengden didn't get off to a great start, surrendering two runs in the first inning before giving up a big three-run homer in the sixth to put the Indians up by three. The 26-year-old right-hander tossed 60 of 100 pitches for strikes on the day, so while he was around the strike zone throughout his start, he did issue four free passes. Following a less than stellar outing, Mengden could find himself back in the minors in the near future.
