Pete Fairbanks RP | MIA
Rays' Pete Fairbanks: Collects 12th save
Fairbanks worked a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 12th save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Marlins.
The right-hander didn't walk or strike out a batter, instead getting two flyballs before Taylor Walls made a leaping grab on a Javier Sanoja line drive for the final out. Fairbanks has been tagged for earned runs in only one of his last 18 appearances dating back to April 23, posting a 1.04 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB through 17.1 innings over that stretch while converting nine of 10 save chances.

Devin Williams RP | NYM
Yankees' Devin Williams: Nails down seventh save
Williams earned the save in Friday's 9-6 win over the Red Sox, striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
Williams was called upon to protect a three-run lead in the ninth and worked around a hit-by-pitch to secure his second straight save since reclaiming the closer role. While his season line remains rough at a 6.08 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB across 23.2 innings, the 30-year-old has allowed runs in just three of 15 appearances since the start of May. With Luke Weaver (hamstring) sidelined for several weeks, he has a chance to reclaim the ninth-inning job for good.

Eric Lauer SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Eric Lauer: Collects second win of 2025
Lauer (2-1) earned the win in Friday's 6-4 victory over the Twins, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two across 2.1 scoreless innings.
Lauer entered at the beginning of the bottom of the third inning after opener Paxton Schultz gave up three runs through the first two frames. The veteran southpaw was able to keep the Twins off the board during his extended relief appearance, and he got enough run support from the Toronto batters to come away with a win. The 30-year-old has a 2.08 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB across 26 innings this season. He's tentatively slated to make his next start or bulk-relief appearance against the Cardinals on the road next week.

Paxton Schultz RP | WAS
Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Yields three runs as opener
Schultz gave up three runs on four hits while striking out one across two innings in Friday's 6-4 win over Minnesota. He did not issue a walk.
Schultz was named the opener for Friday's contest despite working on just two days of rest. That may have factored into his shaky performance, as he yielded at least one run in both of his frames, including a Trevor Larnach solo homer in the first. Schultz tossed 40 pitches (24 strikes) and generated five whiffs before handing the ball off to Eric Lauer for the third inning. Schultz has a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB across 16.2 innings this season.

Jeff Hoffman RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Jeff Hoffman: Strikes out three for 14th save
Hoffman came away with the save in Friday's 6-4 win over the Twins after striking out three batters and walking one in a scoreless ninth inning.
Hoffman was brought in for the ninth to protect the Blue Jays' two-run lead. He walked Byron Buxton after striking out the first two batters, but Hoffman closed the door for Toronto by punching out Trevor Larnach. It marked the sixth time this season that Hoffman has recorded at least three strikeouts. The 32-year-old right-hander is 14-for-17 in save opportunities this season with a 5.53 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 41:8 K:BB across 27.2 innings.

The 30-year-old has opened June with 4.1 scoreless frames after allowing runs in back-to-back outings to close May. On the season, he's 10-for-12 in save chances with a stellar 1.72 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 32:9 K:BB across 31.1 innings.

Tyler Holton RP | DET
Tigers' Tyler Holton: Opening Saturday
Holton will serve as the Tigers' opener for Saturday's game against the Cubs, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Astros' Josh Hader: Converts 17th save
Hader earned the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Guardians, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.
Hader was called upon to protect a two-run lead in the ninth and needed just 12 pitches to do so. The southpaw has now gone eight straight outings without allowing a run and has held opponents scoreless in 22 of his 25 appearances this season. He's a perfect 17-for-17 in save opportunities with a 1.33 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 41:6 K:BB across 27 innings.
