Joe Jimenez RP | ATL
Tigers' Joe Jimenez: Gives up two more runs in loss
Jimenez allowed two earned runs in an inning of work during Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Athletics.
Jimenez came on for the eighth inning, and after hitting the second batter he faced, the 23-year-old reliever served up a two-run home run to Matt Olson. Jimenez has struggled a bit over his last 10 appearances, as he's allowed seven earned runs over 9.2 innings. He's seen his ERA climb from 1.98 to 3.35 in that time, though Jimenez has still shown a lot of improvement from last season, when he posted a miserable 12.32 ERA in 19 innings.

Fernando Rodney RP | ARI
Twins' Fernando Rodney: Escapes jam en route to 24th save
Rodney worked around two hits and a walk with one strikeout in a scoreless inning of work to earn his 24th save of the season Sunday against the Royals.
Working with a one-run lead, Rodney allowed the first man he faced to reach. Fortunately he was caught stealing soon after, because the veteran dangerously allowed two more men to reach before recording the final out. It hasn't been pretty all year for Rodney, who owns a 1.41 WHIP to go along with his 3.16 ERA, but he continues to get the call in save situations and could see plenty more if he remains with Minnesota through the end of the season.

Brian Johnson RP | BOS
Red Sox's Brian Johnson: To take hill Wednesday
Johnson will start Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Johnson will continue to fill in for the injured Chris Sale (shoulder), who's expected to miss at least one more start. Johnson struggled in his previous outing against the Yankees, as he surrendered five runs across five innings, although he picked up the win in a high-scoring affair. Upon Sale's return, Johnson should head back to a bullpen role.

Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Athletics' Blake Treinen: Earns 28th save
Treinen allowed one hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning against the Tigers on Saturday en route to his 28th save of the season.
He pumped in nine of 12 pitches for strikes to pick up his first save of August. Treinen had a couple of blown saves late in July, but his overall body of work this season is beyond impressive. With a 0.95 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 28 saves, five wins and 75 strikeouts, Treinen has been the second-most-valuable reliever in fantasy to date behind only Edwin Diaz.

Craig Kimbrel RP | KC
Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Nearly surrenders lead in non-save spot
Kimbrel allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out two in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Yankees.
It was a non-save situation for Kimbrel, who ceded one run and loaded the bases before getting out of the jam. Aside from his lights-out 2017 season, non-save assignments have been problematic for Kimbrel since he joined the Red Sox in 2016. The closer has a 3.72 ERA (four earned runs, 9.2 innings) in such splits in 2018 and a 1.98 ERA (eight earned runs, 36.1 innings) when a save is on the line. There was some discussion following the game about bringing Kimbrel in after starter Nathan Eovaldi was so efficient over eight scoreless innings (93 pitches), but it comes down to the fact Kimbrel hadn't pitched in five days and needed the work.

Collin McHugh RP | ATL
Astros' Collin McHugh: Option for fill-in start
McHugh is an option for a fill-in start if Lance McCullers (elbow) is unable to make his next scheduled turn Friday against Seattle, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
McCullers was removed from Saturday's game prior to the fifth inning with what the Astros described as right elbow discomfort. McHugh and Brad Peacock -- both former starters -- pitched in relief and should get consideration as a replacement for McCullers if needed.

Cory Gearrin RP | NYY
Rangers' Cory Gearrin: Pitches eighth inning Saturday
Gearrin pitched a scoreless eighth inning against the Orioles on Saturday night, picking up his third hold of the season as a Ranger. He allowed one hit and didn't strike out or walk anyone.
While the good news is that he had a scoreless inning and has earned some trust from manager Jeff Bannister, the bad news for him is that the Rangers turned to Jose Leclerc instead of him to pitch the ninth to get the save.
-
Jose Leclerc RP | SD
Rangers' Jose Leclerc: Picks up save Saturday night
Leclerc got the save Saturday night against the Orioles, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out one. It was his first save of the season.
This was also the first save for the Rangers following their trade of Keone Kela. Rangers manager Jeff Bannister stated that Leclerc is one of three relievers -- along with Chris Martin and Cory Gearrin -- that could get saves without specifically naming him as the closer, but Leclerc is clearly having the best season among the three pitchers. Gearrin pitched the eighth inning to get the hold.

Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY
Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Will pitch Sunday
Yarbrough is scheduled to follow game opener Hunter Wood on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Yarbrough is set to work the bulk of the innings for the Rays against the White Sox. He has pitched 13.1 innings over his last three outings, so he's stretched out enough to qualify for a decision. Yarbrough is 10-5 with a 4.02 ERA.

Hunter Harvey RP | CHC
Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Resuming throwing after small setback
Harvey (shoulder) will resume his throwing program Monday after being temporarily shut down due to forearm stiffness, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Harvey had been working his way back to action after being shut down for nearly a month with a shoulder injury. The forearm issue was reportedly unrelated and apparently minor, as he wasn't shelved long, but it will further delay his return to the mound and add one more item to Harvey's long injury history.
