Casey Lawrence RP | SEA
Mariners' Casey Lawrence: Sent to Triple-A
The Mariners optioned Lawrence to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
After he covered 4.1 innings in long relief in Saturday's 11-5 loss to the Angels, Lawrence was unlikely to be available out of the bullpen for at least the next two games. As a result, he was an easy choice for the Mariners to send back to Triple-A in order to create room on the active roster for reliever Sam Tuivailala, who was acquired from the Cardinals on Friday.

Ryne Stanek RP | STL
Rays' Ryne Stanek: Falters as opener
Stanek (1-3) allowed three earned runs on two hits and two walks over two innings in a loss to the Orioles on Saturday. He struck out one.
Stanek had previously enjoyed success as a "bullpen day" opener, but he ran into a suddenly hot-hitting Orioles squad Saturday. The right-hander was tagged for back-to-back home runs by Trey Mancini and Joey Rickard in his second and final frame, which led to an early 3-0 hole for the Rays that they never recovered from. Despite the struggles, Stanek still sports an impressive 2.43 ERA for the season, and the pair of round trippers he surrendered were the first he'd given up since May 11.

Ryan Pressly RP | CHC
Astros' Ryan Pressly: Makes Astros debut
Pressly gave up a solo home run and struck out one over one inning in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Rangers.
Pressly was making his Houston debut after being acquired from Minnesota on Friday. Although the game turned out to be a blowout, Pressly entered a close game with the Astros trailing by one in the seventh inning and is expected to fill a late-inning role.

Jaime Barria RP | CLE
Angels' Jaime Barria: Earns sixth win
Barria (6-7) allowed two earned runs on five hits and no walks while striking out two across six innings to earn the win Saturday against the Mariners.
Barria was taken deep twice by Nelson Cruz but otherwise pitched a solid game, allowing only three other hits -- none of which went for extra bases. However, his continued inability to limit home runs (13 allowed across his last 51.2 innings) has caused his ERA to jump from 2.48 to 3.74 in his last eight starts. He has been susceptible at home and on the road, and he has given up at least one home run in eight of his last 10 starts, making it difficult to base his potential usefulness on his matchup.

Ariel Jurado RP | TEX
Rangers' Ariel Jurado: Notches first big-league win
Jurado (1-1) struck out two and picked up the win in Saturday's 7-3 victory over the Astros, allowing one run on two hits and one walk over six innings.
The rookie threw 47 of 76 pitches for strikes en route to his first big-league win, although Jurado's meager three swinging strikes is a good indicator of how hard it will be to repeat this kind of performance, even against a lesser opponent. He'll take a 4.22 ERA into his next outing Friday at home against the Orioles.

Jalen Beeks RP | TEX
Rays' Jalen Beeks: Pounded in relief
Beeks gave up eight runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out one in 3.1 innings Saturday in Baltimore.
The Rays announced the plan for Saturday was for Ryne Stanek to start the game and for Beeks to come in as a long reliever. The result of that plan was that the Rays surrendered 11 runs in the first 5.1 innings, with Beeks absorbing the bulk of the damage. Only 45 of his 82 pitches were thrown for strikes, which is a recipe for disaster for a pitcher like Beeks who needs to rely on deception and getting ahead in the count. It certainly didn't help that eight of the Orioles' nine batters hit right-handed, as Beeks' stuff just doesn't appear to play well against right-handed hitters at the highest level. It's unclear if he will get to make a start at some point, but he should be avoided for now regardless of his role.

Aroldis Chapman RP | BOS
Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Rebounds for 27th save
Chapman gave up a hit and a walk while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Royals to record his 27th save of the season.
The left-hander hadn't pitched since his control completely deserted him against the Mets last Saturday, but Chapman looked more like his dominant self in this one. Despite the occasional lapses, he still has a 1.98 ERA and 70:20 K:BB over 41 innings on the year, and he's only blown one save.
-
Joe Jimenez RP | ATL
Tigers' Joe Jimenez: Notches hold Saturday
Jimenez recorded the hold in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Indians, as he worked around a walk to toss a scoreless eighth inning.
A day after getting rocked for three runs in one-third of an inning, Jimenez pitched much better Saturday to earn his 14th hold of the season. The 23-year-old has a 3.11 ERA and 54 strikeouts across 46.1 innings this year, and he could take over as Detroit's closer if incumbent Shane Greene is traded before Tuesday's trade deadline.
-
Ariel Jurado RP | TEX
Rangers' Ariel Jurado: Recalled and starting vs. Houston
Jurado was promoted from Triple-A Round Rock ahead of Saturday's tilt with the Astros.
As expected, Jurado was recalled to toe the rubber for Saturday's game. He's made one start with the big club in 2018, although he was shelled for four runs across 4.2 innings.

Michael Fulmer RP | NYY
Tigers' Michael Fulmer: To resume throwing Tuesday
Fulmer (oblique) is expected to begin a throwing program Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Fulmer was placed on the disabled list July 20 with a left oblique strain, although it's great news that he's ready to start throwing once again. A concrete timetable for his return hasn't been set, but he figures to remain on the DL until early-to-mid August, as a few minor-league appearances will likely be necessary.
