  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: No-decision in quality start

Fulmer allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings during Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.

Most of the trouble for Fulmer came during the fifth inning as he allowed all three runs on four hits -- including three doubles. He otherwise limited the damage despite regularly putting men on base. The 25-year-old has a 4.22 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with a 85:33 K:BB across 100.1 innings, and next lines up to faces the Rangers on Sunday.

  • Angels' Eduardo Paredes: Optioned to Salt Lake

Paredes was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Paredes will head back down to the minors after allowing a pair of runs over one inning of work against Baltimore on Sunday. In a corresponding move, Miguel Almonte was recalled to replenish the bullpen.

  • Miguel Almonte RP | LAA

Angels' Miguel Almonte: Called up from minors

Almonte was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Southern California News Group reports.

Almonte has only appeared in 11 major-league games over the course of his career, with nine coming in 2015 with the Royals. Over 5.1 innings with Salt Lake, he's posted a 3.38 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. Look for him to serve as added depth out of the Angels' bullpen while with the team.

  • Hunter Harvey RP | CHC

Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Plays catch Tuesday

Harvey (shoulder) played catch Tuesday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Harvey has been out since June 8 with a shoulder injury. He's now resumed his throwing program, but it's unclear when he'll be back to game action.

  • Chris Martin RP | TEX

Rangers' Chris Martin: Sent down to Triple-A

Martin was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic Dallas reports.

Martin has a respectable 4.13 ERA in 24 innings for the Rangers this season. He'll likely be back up later in the year when the team needs another reliever. Ronald Guzman was activated from the 7-day concussion disabled list in a corresponding move.

  • Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC

Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Endures rocky rehab outing

Pomeranz (biceps) was tagged for five runs on four hits -- all home runs -- and two walks while striking out two over 2.2 innings Monday in his rehab start for Triple-A Pawtucket.

Pomeranz tossed 56 pitches (34 strikes) in the rehab outing, his first game action since May 31 after being shut down for the past month with biceps tendinitis. The Red Sox will likely want to see Pomeranz build up to around 75-to-90 pitches and show far better command and control before activating him from the disabled list and inserting him into their rotation. The southpaw sported a 5.1 BB/9 and 1.7 HR/9 prior to landing on the DL and showed little evidence Monday that a turnaround is imminent.

  • Twins' Fernando Rodney: Blown save Monday

Rodney was charged with the blown save Monday, allowing one run on three hits in an inning against the Brewers.

That's now back-to-back blown saves for Rodney after 15 straight successful conversions from late April to late June. That stretch built up a lot of goodwill and there has been nothing to suggest a role change is being considered after two shaky outings, but if Rodney can't right the ship, the Twins could eventually turn to Trevor Hildenberger in the ninth. Addison Reed was recently removed from the primary setup role.

  • Jakob Junis RP | TEX

Royals' Jakob Junis: Clobbered by Cleveland

Junis (5-10) gave up eight earned runs on eight hits -- including two homers -- over 5.1 innings in a loss to the Indians on Monday. He struck out two and walked one.

With two more long balls allowed, Junis is now up to 24 homers given up on the season, four more than any other pitcher in baseball (Bartolo Colon and Cole Hamels have both allowed 20). Junis' ERA has ballooned from 3.61 to 5.13 since the start of June, and he's now taken the loss in seven consecutive appearances. The 25-year-old lines up to face the Red Sox at home this weekend.

  • Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY

Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Receives start Tuesday

Yarbrough will start Tuesday's game against the Marlins, MLB.com reports.

It's only the fifth start of the season for Yarbrough, but with the lefty covering at least five innings in nine of his appearances this season, the Rays view him as a de facto rotation member even though he frequently enters games behind an "opener." Whether he has been used right away in games or out of the bullpen, Yarbrough has been dependable over the last two months, posting a 3.62 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 8.3 K/9 since the beginning of May. He'll likely be a worthy option Tuesday in both season-long and daily formats while he takes on a Marlins squad that ranks 26th in baseball with a team wRC+ of 84.

  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Logs four-out save

Kimbrel logged his 25th save of the season, striking out one and walking one over 1.1 scoreless innings in Monday's 4-3 win over the Nationals.

Kimbrel converted his 16th consecutive save opportunity Monday, but it wasn't easy. The Nationals made him work for it, with five batters running his pitch count up to 33.
