  • White Sox's Hector Santiago: Slated to start Wednesday

Santiago is scheduled to start Wednesday against the Pirates, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Santiago will get the ball for Wednesday's series finale after having his previous turn in the rotation skipped. The 30-year-old has worked as a starter and long reliever this season, compiling a 5.60 ERA and 25:16 K:BB across 27.1 innings (11 appearances, two starts). With Santiago rejoining the rotation Wednesday, Carson Fulmer will have his start pushed to Friday.

  • Carson Fulmer RP | PIT

White Sox's Carson Fulmer: Start pushed back to Friday

Fulmer is scheduled to start Friday against the Rangers, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Fulmer was originally scheduled to take his turn in the rotation Wednesday against the Pirates, but given his recent struggles, the White Sox opted to give him a couple of extra days to rest before his next outing. The 24-year-old owns an unsightly 6.23 ERA and 1.75 WHIP across 30.1 innings (eight starts, one relief appearance) this season. If he doesn't turn things around in short order, Fulmer could be headed for a demotion to Triple-A Charlotte with Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) and Carlos Rodon (shoulder) both nearing returns from the DL.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Could lose rotation spot

Graveman is no longer expected to start Wednesday against the Red Sox after Athletics manager Bob Melvin expressed confidence that Trevor Cahill (elbow) would be able to return from the 10-day disabled list to take the hill for that contest, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Following a brief stint at Triple-A Nashville, Graveman was called up last week to fill the rotation spot vacated by Cahill and turned in a quality start Friday against the Yankees, covering six innings and giving up four runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks. Even after the positive outing, Graveman's ERA still sits at 7.60 across 34.1 innings with the big club this season, so he could be at risk of moving to the bullpen or back to Nashville in the wake of Cahill's return. Andrew Triggs and Brett Anderson have also posted poor results of late and could be other options for demotion if the Athletics decide to keep Graveman in the starting ranks.

  • Jose Alvarado RP | PHI

Rays' Jose Alvarado: Grabs three-pitch hold Monday

Alvarado notched his 11th hold in Monday's win over the Royals, getting one out on three pitches to close out the eighth inning.

The burly southpaw carried out his assigned task to perfection after manager Kevin Cash brought him on with two out in the eighth in a matchup-based move. Alvarado retired the same-handed Mike Moustakas on a flyball to right with a quick three pitches, extending his scoreless-appearance streak to eight in the process. Alvarado has lowed his ERA from 3.60 to 2.16 during that stretch while compiling five holds and his only save of the season.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Mows down Twins for 14th save

Diaz struck out the side for his 14th save Monday night against the Twins.

Diaz struck out the side for the second outing in a row and the fifth time this season. He now has a whopping 37 strikeouts over 20.1 innings, good for a 16.4 K/9 that trails only Josh Hader, Aroldis Chapman and Dellin Betances this season.

  • Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY

Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Holds Royals to one run in win

Yarbrough (3-2) allowed one run on five hits and three walks across five innings to earn the win Monday against the Royals. He struck out four.

Yarbrough allowed his share of baserunners throughout the evening, but he was able to mitigate the damage and was only scored upon via a solo home run from Whit Merrifield in the third inning. He threw first-pitch strikes to 13 of 21 batters and induced eight groundball outs to help his cause. Yarbrough was touched up for five runs in his previous outing, but this performance lowered his ERA to a respectable 3.93 ahead of Saturday's scheduled start against the Angels.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Beats Red Sox with quality start

Manaea (5-4) allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits and one walk across six-plus innings to earn the win Monday against the Red Sox. He struck out four.

Manaea allowed a pair of runs in the third inning and another while working out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth. He came out for the seventh inning after a one-two-three sixth, but allowed a leadoff home run before he was removed from the game. Though he was knocked around at times, Manaea threw an impressive 74 percent of his pitches for strikes and still delivered a quality start against one of the league's best offenses. He's come back to earth a bit after a great start, but he'll still take a superb 2.35 ERA into Saturday's start against the Blue Jays.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Tosses scoreless frame for seventh save

Treinen tossed a clean inning for his seventh save of the season Monday against the Red Sox.

Treinin was remarkably efficient in this one, needing just eight pitches to sit down the side in order for a one-run victory. Though he's struggled in the past, Treinin looks like a different man this season, posting a 0.93 ERA while going 7-for-9 in save opportunities. He's compiled a career-best 9.9 K/9 to boot and has seen more save opportunities than one could've expected coming into the year.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Records save with scoreless inning

Colome worked around a hit with one strikeout in a scoreless inning of work to earn his seventh save of the season Monday against the Royals.

Colome made things interesting in this one, allowing a one-out triple to put the tying run 90 feet away. He buckled down and got the final two outs to finish the game. Colome has still been shaky at times, but he's allowed just two earned runs over his last 10.2 innings to lower his ERA to 4.58.

  • Twins' Brusdar Graterol: Back in action with Cedar Rapids

Graterol (back) was activated from the minor-league disabled list Monday, Brandon Warne of The Athletic Minnesota reports.

Graterol is good to go after spending the last 10 days on the shelf with back spasms. Now that he's healthy again, the top prospect will look to pick up where he left off prior to the injury, as he had compiled a 1.04 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 11:0 K:BB across two starts (8.2 innings) with Low-A Cedar Rapids.
