  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Collects sixth save Saturday

Colome struck out two over 1.2 perfect innings Saturday to pick up his sixth save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Blue Jays.

It was the first time this season Colome's been required to work more than one inning, but he had no issues with the extra workload. The right-hander has turned things around after a rough start to 2018, posting a 1.17 ERA and 11:1 K:BB over his last seven appearances.

  • White Sox's Hector Santiago: Struggles against Twins

Santiago (0-1) took the loss Saturday against the Twins, allowing eight runs on six hits and six walks across 3.1 innings. He struck out two.

Making another spot start due to injuries in the White Sox's rotation, Santiago struggled mightily Saturday. He had difficulty finding the strike zone, tossing just 46 of his 89 pitches for strikes, which resulted in a season-high six free passes. The shellacking caused Santiago's ERA to jump from a respectable 3.48 to 6.00. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which will be a tough matchup on the road against the Cubs.

  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Records ninth save

Kimbrel struck out two in a clean ninth inning to record his ninth save of the season Saturday against the Rangers.

After blowing his first save of the season Tuesday, Kimbrel has notched two saves without allowing a baserunner and has struck out five of the six batters he's faced. He is firmly entrenched as the Red Sox closer and is an elite fantasy option at the position.

  • Ryne Stanek RP | STL

Rays' Ryne Stanek: Called up to majors

Stanek was called up from Triple-A Durham before Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 26-year-old right-hander was summoned from the Bulls after the Rays sent down Chih-Wei Hu, making it his first stint with big-league club in 2018. Stanek had a rough initial 20-inning major-league stint in 2017, generating a 5.85 ERA and 1.90 WHIP. However, he's been utilizing his high-90s fastball with great effectiveness at the Triple-A level thus far this season, posting an impressive 17:6 K:BB and 1.86 ERA over 9.2 innings across 10 appearances.

  • Jake Diekman RP | ATL

Rangers' Jake Diekman: Returns to action

Diekman (elbow) returned to action Friday against the Red Sox, allowing one run in one inning.

Diekman was hit by a comebacker Tuesday against Cleveland and suffered a bruise on his elbow. The issue wasn't a major one though, as he was able to play in a game a mere three days later.

  • Yankees' David Robertson: Grabs first save

Robertson earned his first save of the season Saturday against Cleveland, throwing one scoreless inning with a pair of strikeouts and one hit allowed.

Robertson came into the game with a three-run lead in the ninth inning after closer Aroldis Chapman was used the previous two days. He got in little trouble other than a one-out double to Edwin Encarnacion. He now has a 21:3 K:BB and 3.12 ERA in 17.1 innings. The veteran is one of the more steady setup men in the league, though it will likely take an injury to Aroldis Chapman for him to get regular save opportunities.

  • Lou Trivino RP | PHI

Athletics' Lou Trivino: Notches second win of season

Trivino (2-0) fired a scoreless 1.2 innings in a win over the Orioles on Friday, allowing a hit and a walk while recording a strikeout.

The young right-hander was extremely efficient despite allowing a pair of baserunners, getting six outs on just 12 pitches. Trivino allowed his first earned run two appearances ago versus the Mariners, but he's bounced back with 2.2 scoreless frames across his subsequent pair of outings. Factoring in Friday's performance, Trivino's ERA is down to a minuscule 0.93.

  • Rays' Andrew Kittredge: Goes two innings in 'bullpen day' start

Kittredge started but did not factor into the decision in a win over the Blue Jays on Friday, allowing one earned run on two hits and a walk over two innings while also recording a strikeout.

The right-hander got the call to open Friday's "bullpen day" game, but he worked up to a robust 36 pitches over his pair of frames. Ryan Yarbrough ultimately bailed out manager Kevin Cash with five scoreless frames following Kittredge's exit. Kittredge was coming off back-to-back scoreless relief outings, and he's generated a solid 2.25 ERA over his first three May appearances.

  • Twins' Fernando Rodney: Notches fourth save Friday

Rodney struck out one in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save against the White Sox on Friday.

Over his last four outings, Rodney has allowed no runs on one hit with three strikeouts and three walks across four innings, bringing his ERA down to 4.22. He is 4-for-7 in save chances and has given up 13 hits in 10.2 innings. Rodney has allowed five walks and struck out 11 and currently sports a .344 BABIP. While somewhat unpredictable, Rodney still holds the closer role in Minnesota.

  • Carson Fulmer RP | PIT

White Sox's Carson Fulmer: Allows four home runs Friday

Fulmer (2-2) struck out six and walked two in a loss to the Twins on Friday, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits over 3.2 innings.

Fulmer got beat up by the long ball Friday, giving up a solo shot to Eduardo Escobar in the second and then allowing three more solo homers to Brian Dozier, Logan Morrison and Escobar again in the third. Fulmer has now allowed 16 earned runs in 28.2 innings, bringing his ERA up to 5.02. The six strikeouts were a season high, and he's sporting a 24:15 K:BB on the year. The right-hander's next start will be a matchup with the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
