Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Eyeing activation Sunday or Monday
Manaea (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Sunday or Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
It appears Manaea is ready to rejoin the Athletics after tossing a four-inning rehab game at Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. He allowed just one run and struck out five during that outing. The 25-year-old held a 5.18 ERA through 24.1 innings (five starts) before landing not he disabled list. He'll likely take the rotation spot of Jharel Cotton, who was optioned back to Triple-A on Thursday.

Josh Staumont RP | CIN
Royals' Josh Staumont: Six starts at Triple-A
Staumont is 2-2 with a 4.18 ERA and 1.25 WHIP through his first six starts at Triple-A Omaha this season.
The right-hander has had some issues escaping trouble with runners on base -- Staumont's 67.6 percent strand rate is his worst mark over five stops since 2015. On the flip side, the 23-year-old has quelled the talent at MiLB's highest level to a .188 BAA.

Liam Hendriks RP | CHC
Athletics' Liam Hendriks: Notches fourth hold of season Wednesday
Hendriks fired a scoreless seventh inning in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Angels, recording a strikeout.
The veteran reliever extended his scoreless streak to 11 innings with Wednesday's effort, in which he needed a scant nine pitches to dispose of Andrelton Simmons, Danny Espinosa and Juan Graterol. Hendriks has been stingy with both runs and contact in general, giving up just one hit over his last 7.2 innings since yielding six over his first 4.2 frames of the season.

Tony Zych RP | NYY
Mariners' Tony Zych: Second victory of season Wednesday
Zych (2-0) allowed a hit and a walk over a scoreless inning in Wednesday's 11-6 win over the Phillies. He also recorded a strikeout.
The 26-year-old right-hander has seen a fair amount of usage since returning from offseason biceps tendon transfer surgery, as he's now fired nine innings overall across nine appearances. He opened May by surrendering an earned run in each of his first two appearances, but has now turned in consecutive scoreless efforts. Zych has his ERA back down to 2.00 and has been credited with a hold in addition to his two victories.

Michael Fulmer RP | NYY
Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Confirmed for Thursday
Fulmer will start Thursday for the Tigers at the Angels, Vito Chirco of the Detroit Free Press reports.
The right-hander has done his best to top his strong rookie season, posting a 2.77 ERA with an 8.1 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9 over his first 39 innings of 2017. Fulmer is coming off his best start of the year last Friday, as he allowed just one run on eight hits and two walks in eight frames with nine strikeouts.

Robby Scott RP | BOS
Red Sox's Robby Scott: Cleans up Wednesday's loss
Scott pitched a scoreless eighth inning in Wednesday's 7-4 loss to the Brewers.
Scott continues to be an effective reliever and is the one left-hander out of the bullpen in which manager John Farrell has utmost faith. The former independent-league hurler has made six straight scoreless appearances and has allowed just one earned run in 8.2 innings in 2017. Farrell spots him mostly for situational work as 10 of his 15 appearances have lasted fewer than three outs, but he's usually brought out for high-leverage situations. If the Red Sox need a lefty to close out a save situation, it would be Scott.

Jesse Chavez RP | ATL
Angels' Jesse Chavez: Can't quite finish six in loss
Chavez (2-5) gave up two runs on three hits and a pair of walks over 5.2 innings in Wednesday's loss to Oakland. He struck out five and hit a batter while throwing 111 pitches.
Andrew Triggs and the Oakland bullpen were just better on the other end, giving up only a single run. Chavez is showing himself to be pretty much the same pitcher he's been for the last few years, whether in the rotation or the bullpen -- an ERA north of 4.00 and a WHIP north of 1.30, but just enough strikeouts and solid outings to tease fantasy owners in need of pitching help. He's nothing more than a spot-start pickup in most formats.

Carson Smith RP | BOS
Red Sox's Carson Smith: Throws session Tuesday
Smith (elbow) said he felt his velocity was back during a 25-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Smith believes he'll be facing hitters in a live batting-practice session and simulated game in 3-to-4 weeks. That would be followed by a rehabilitation assignment and a possible return to Boston's active roster by late June.

Ken Giles RP | ATL
Astros' Ken Giles: Closes out Braves on Wednesday
Giles pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his ninth save of the season in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Braves.
After some initial turbulence to start the season, Giles has been tough on opponents. He hasn't allowed a hit or a walk in eight of his last 10 appearances.

Jakob Junis RP | TEX
Royals' Jake Junis: Sent back to Triple-A
Junis was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.
Just a day after being recalled from Omaha, Junis is headed right back. Junis has thrown two shutout innings over two games in the majors this season. He'll figure to return to the starting rotation at Omaha, where he owns a 3.52 ERA and 1.13 WHIP this year.
