Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC
Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Crushed for six runs in Milwaukee
Pomeranz (3-2) was battered for six runs on seven hits and two walks in just four innings against Milwaukee on Tuesday.
This was a tough draw against a Milwaukee offense that's been terrific, and fantasy owners who put their faith in Pomeranz due to his solid early returns came away sorely disappointed. Long balls have been a major issue for the lefty this year, as he's now given up an awful total of seven in 31 innings, counterbalancing the value he's offered with his 36 strikeouts.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Notches seventh save
Diaz struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to earn his seventh save of the year in Tuesday's 10-9 win over Philadelphia.
The 23-year-old lowered his ERA to 3.77 and has now converted his third straight save opportunity after blowing a save on May 2. Diaz continues to be a solid fantasy option when looking for saves, especially with a 12.5 K/9.

Matt Andriese RP | MIA
Rays' Matt Andriese: Strikes out seven in no-decision
Andriese pitched 5.1 innings against Kansas City on Tuesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven.
He's been an unexpectedly valuable fantasy asset early on thanks to that 3.12 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 40.1 innings, but Andriese puts way too many men on base to keep living such a charmed life. If he doesn't cut down on the number of walks and hits he allows, strand-rate regression will hit him hard. Andriese is a usable starter in a lot of fantasy formats, but he's the kind of guy you can cut as soon as the wind changes direction.

Aaron Loup RP | LAA
Blue Jays' Aaron Loup: Surrenders key homer
Loup threw an inning in relief Tuesday in a loss to Cleveland. He allowed three earned runs on three hits.
It was a tough night for Loup, who was touched up for a three-run homer at the hands of Yan Gomes in the eighth inning. The bomb extended the Indians lead to six, and essentially put the game on ice for Cleveland. With one swing of the bat, his ERA skyrocketed from 0.71 to 2.63.

Justin Wilson RP | BOS
Tigers' Justin Wilson: Takes over as Tigers' closer
Wilson has been named the Tigers' new closer, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
K-Rod was just 7-for-11 in save opportunities and owned a brutal 8.94 ERA through 11.2 innings, so it comes as no surprise that the Tigers decided to try someone new at the end of games. Wilson owns an impressive 1.32 ERA and 0.59 WHIP through 13.2 innings this season, notching eight holds along the way as well. While manager Brad Ausmus left the door open for Rodriguez to reclaim his role as closer, it will be difficult to dethrone Wilson if he continues to pitch the way he has.

JT Chargois RP | TEX
Twins' J.T. Chargois: Continuing rehab in Florida
Chargois (elbow) is heading to Florida to continue rehabbing from an elbow impingement, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.
MRI results on his elbow came back negative, so Chargois will head to extended spring training to continue his rehab process. Once he's finally healthy, the 26-year-old should be a candidate to be called up to the majors given his powerful fastball and strong strikeout rates (10.5 K/9 at Triple-A last season).

Zach Putnam RP | BOS
White Sox's Zach Putnam: Hopes to resume throwing Wednesday
Putnam (elbow) is hoping to resume a throwing program after being re-evaluated Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Putnam has been on the disabled list since late April with elbow inflammation, though if all goes well with Wednesday's check up, a timetable for his return could start to materialize. More should be known about a possible return date once he resumes throwing.

Austin Pruitt RP | TEX
Rays' Austin Pruitt: Sent to minors
Pruitt was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay times reports.
Pruitt heads back to Durham after a rough start to May that saw him allow six runs across two appearances (three innings), raising his ERA to 7.52 on the year. Diego Moreno was recalled in a corresponding move to take his place in the bullpen.
-
Joe Jimenez RP | ATL
Tigers' Joe Jimenez: Headed to DL
Jimenez (back) is headed to the DL at Triple-A Toledo, Tony Paul of The Detroit News reports.
The move is retroactive to May 5, so Jimenez will be eligible to return on May 12. Emily Waldon of 2080 Baseball reports that he is dealing with a lower back strain, and there is no timeline for his return. The young right-hander last pitched on May 3 for Toledo.

Jakob Junis RP | TEX
Royals' Jake Junis: Recalled from Triple-A
Junis was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.
He has been used as a starter at Triple-A, and the thinking is that he could offer some depth behind Tuesday's starter, Chris Young, who is unlikely to log a quality start. Junis replaces Scott Alexander, who was placed on the 10-day DL with a hamstring strain, in the Royals' bullpen. The 24-year-old righty has a 3.52 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 27:4 K:BB in 23 innings in the Pacific Coast League.
