Scott Alexander RP | SF
Royals' Scott Alexander: Lands on DL with hamstring strain
Alexander was placed on the 10-day DL Tuesday with a right hamstring strain.
He logged a 1.26 ERA in 14.1 innings of relief prior to the injury, but his 3.42 xFIP and mediocre 15.4 percent strikeout rate suggest that level of success was not sustainable. Jake Junis was recalled from Triple-A Omaha as a corresponding move.

Liam Hendriks RP | CHC
Athletics' Liam Hendriks: First victory of season Monday
Hendriks (1-0) fired two scoreless innings in Monday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Angels, giving up just one hit to notch his first win of the season.
The 28-year-old right-hander has put together an excellent stretch of appearances since giving up a pair of earned runs apiece in three straight mid-April outings. Hendriks has compiled 10 consecutive scoreless innings across his last eight trips to the mound, posting an impressive 10:1 K:BB over that span.

Max Povse RP | SEA
Mariners' Max Povse: Solid thus far in Double-A
Povse is 3-1 with a 3.51 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over 33.1 innings with Double-A Arkansas.
The towering righty got into at least the sixth inning in his first four starts before running into trouble against Springfield in an April 30 outing. Povse was touched up for seven earned runs in that appearance, but has otherwise given up one or no earned runs in four other trips to the mound. He's also done an excellent job of keeping the ball in the yard, surrendering just one home run while generating a 29:11 K:BB and a .210 BAA.

Kendall Graveman RP | ARI
Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Pitches well in no-decision against Angels
Graveman allowed two runs on seven hits (one home run) while walking one and striking out six over seven innings for a no-decision in Monday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Angels.
Aside from his last start, when he gave up six runs in just 3.1 innings against the Twins, Graveman hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his other five starts, and he lowered his season ERA to 3.67 with this 95-pitch effort. After allowing a two-run homer to Luis Valbuena in the first inning, Graveman impressed by shutting the Halos down the rest of the way. His mediocre strikeout rate keeps his upside limited, but the right-hander can be a fine middle-of-the-rotation starter for fantasy owners, especially at his pitcher-friendly home ballpark.

Nick Martinez SP | TB
Rangers' Nick Martinez: Loses second game of season
Martinez (0-2) allowed four runs on eight hits (two home runs) while walking one and striking out four over six innings in Monday's 5-1 loss to San Diego.
It wasn't as bad as his last start, which saw him allow three long balls and six earned runs in 5.1 frames to the Astros. The bottom line, though, is that Martinez can't be trusted in any fantasy leagues as anything more than a desperation streamer. He's now allowed seven home runs in his last three starts and isn't guaranteed another turn in the rotation.

Dario Alvarez RP | SEA
Rangers' Dario Alvarez: Recalled from Triple-A
Alvarez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock before Monday's game against the Padres.
Alvarez was sent down after Sunday's game, but an injury to reliever Jose Leclerc opened up a job for him once again. He has been wild, with six walks over nine innings, but he's used 10 strikeouts to keep his ERA at a respectable 3.00. Due to the simple fact that Alvarez is one of the few Rangers relievers with options remaining, expect him to move up and down between the majors and minors for much of the season.
-
Jose Leclerc RP | SD
Rangers' Jose Leclerc: Placed on disabled list with bruised finger
Leclerc was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a bruised right index finger on Monday.
Leclerc has been excellent in the Rangers' bullpen thus far, delivering a 2.31 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB over 11.2 innings. He's allowed just six hits over 10 appearances and should have a spot waiting for him once he recovers from the injury. As his finger is merely bruised, Leclerc shouldn't be out for much more than the disabled list's requisite 10 days.

Casey Lawrence RP | SEA
Blue Jays' Casey Lawrence: DFA'd by Toronto
Lawrence was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Monday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Lawrence struggled to a 8.78 ERA through 13.1 innings with the Blue Jays earlier in the season before being optioned back to Triple-A. While he did much better with Buffalo, posting a 0.90 ERA through 10 innings, the Blue Jays decided to oust him from the 40-man roster to clear room for backup catcher Mike Ohlman. He'll likely head back to Buffalo if he clears waivers.
-
Chad Green RP | TOR
Yankees' Chad Green: Recalled from minors
Green was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.
Green was added to provide a much-needed arm out of the bullpen for the Yankees, who depleted their relief corps during Sunday's 18-inning win over the Cubs. The 26-year-old owns a 4.72 ERA with 33 strikeouts through 26.2 innings (five starts) at Triple-A this season. Green will be available as a long-relief option, as he was scheduled to start with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.
-
Shawn Armstrong RP | CLE
Indians' Shawn Armstrong: Sent back to minors
Armstrong was optioned back to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.
Already in his second stint with the Indians this season, Armstrong allowed just one walk and struck out three while tossing 2.2 scoreless innings of relief before being sent back to Columbus. The 26-year-old now owns a 5.62 ERA through eight innings (five appearances) with the Indians this season, though all five runs he gave up came in one outing. Armstrong will likely see another chance with the big-league bullpen in 2017, but most of his innings should continue to come in low-leverage situations. The move clears room on the roster for the hot-hitting Yandy Diaz, who was recently recalled from Triple-A.
