  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Earns 33rd save Thursday versus Orioles

Colome worked around two hits and struck out two while capturing his 33rd save Thursday against the Orioles.

Colome allowed back-to-back one-out singles to put runners on the corners for the heart of the O's order. However, he escaped disaster by striking out Mark Trumbo looking, then Chris Davis swinging. The Rays' closer is now 33-for-35 in save chances this year and owns a 1.97 ERA to go along with 66 strikeouts over 50.1 innings.

  • Ryan Pressly RP | CHC

Twins' Ryan Pressly: Twins trying to reduce workload

Pressly will not be used in back-to-back games the rest of the season, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Pressly leads the AL with 69 appearances, so the Twins want to control his workload the final few weeks. He's had a productive season with a 3.72 ERA and 7.8 K/9.

  • Joe Kelly RP | LAD

Red Sox's Joe Kelly: Wins after walk off

Kelly was credited with the win Thursday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in Boston's 7-5 walk-off win over the Yankees. He allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two.

Kelly made it squirmy, loading the bases with one out, but he escaped damage and left the deficit manageable for Boston. His teammates took advantage, scoring five in the bottom of the ninth to win it. The right-hander with the high-90s fastball has not allowed a run since being called up from Triple-A Pawtucket at the beginning of September. In seven innings, he's allowed five hits and four walks while striking out 11.

  • Twins' Hector Santiago: Picks up 12th win Thursday

Santiago (12-8) allowed one run on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 5.2 innings to beat the Tigers on Thursday.

Santiago has rebounded from a rough initial stretch following his trade to Minnesota at the deadline, and is 2-0 with a 1.82 ERA over his last four starts. He got outs almost exclusively via the fly ball in this one, with 13 of those compared to just one ground ball and three strikeouts. While that split is unlikely to repeat itself in his next outing, Santiago has a great chance to keep the good times rolling in a home rematch with these same Tigers on Wednesday.

  • White Sox's David Robertson: Picks up fifth win

Robertson (5-3) struck out two while allowing a hit and a walk in a scoreless top of the ninth inning Thursday against the Indians. He was rewarded for the effort with a win when Chicago scored the winning run in the bottom of the frame.

The White Sox closer has had a productive second campaign in Chicago, rewarding owners with five wins to go with his 35 saves. Factor in Robertson's tremendous 10.4 K/9, and you get a top-notch all-around option.

  • Athletics' Daniel Mengden: Fires seven scoreless innings

Mengden improved to 2-7 after tossing seven shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six in Thursday's 14-5 win over the Royals.

Mengden cruised as Oakland piled up runs behind him, finishing off a four-game sweep in dominant fashion. The 23-year-old rookie was efficient with his pitches, needing just 88 to get through seven innings. He's lowered his ERA from 6.66 to 5.68 over his past two outings and will look to keep up the momentum against the Astros at home on Wednesday.

  • Chris Lee RP | BAL

Orioles' Chris Lee: Placed on 60-day DL Thursday

Lee (back) was recalled from Double-A Bowie and placed on the 60-day disabled list, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Lee has been out since early June with this back issue, and since the Orioles needed a spot on the 40-man roster for Paul Janish, the top prospect was a logical choice to cast off the active roster. The left-hander will likely rehab over the offseason and get back to game action with one of the higher affiliates in the Orioles organization.

  • Tyler Duffey RP | KC

Twins' Tyler Duffey: Gets crushed Wednesday against Detroit

Duffey was hammered for six runs on eight hits and one walk over 3.2 innings Wednesday versus Detroit. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Duffey's rough season continued Wednesday despite luckily walking away without the loss. His 6.39 ERA is the worst mark for pitchers with over 120 innings this season and his 1.52 WHIP is 11th worst among that subset. Opposing hitters have hit .342 against the righty in 44.1 innings since the All-Star break. Duffey, in his second year, is far from fantasy relevant under most formats.

  • Yankees' Dellin Betances: Handed loss on pair of errors

Betances entered a 0-0 game in the ninth inning, and gave up a two unearned runs on a double and a pair of errors, taking his fifth loss.

Corey Seager started things by reaching first on an error by second baseman Starlin Castro. After Seager stole second, Betances allowed a double to Justin Turner for the first run, and later overthrew his catcher to allow Turner to score as well. While the loss was not entirely Betances' fault, it does highlight the fact that opposing baserunners are a perfect 19-for-19 against him in 2016. Betances' ERA is now 2.33.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Set to start Wednesday

Manaea (back) will start Wednesday's game against the Royals, as expected.

He threw a 50-pitch bullpen session Saturday, so it remains to be seen how many pitches he will be allowed to throw Wednesday. This makes him a risky option in daily leagues. He had three quality starts in his last five outings before suffering the back injury.
