Buck Farmer RP | CIN
Tigers' Buck Farmer: Recalled by Tigers
The Tigers have recalled Farmer from Triple-A Toledo.
Farmer has seemingly spent the entire season on the train from Toledo to Detroit, but he should remain with the big club the rest of the way with the minor-league season coming to a close. Farmer posted a respectable 3.96 ERA over 20 starts with Toledo this season, but he figures to work out of the bullpen for the Tigers like he has done all season.

Jeff Ferrell RP | DET
Tigers' Jeff Ferrell: Re-signs with Tigers
Ferrell signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Thursday.
Ferrell was released by the Tigers in mid-August, but he decided to return to the club after being unable to land a contract elsewhere. On a minor league deal, it seems unlikely he will join the big club before the season comes to a close.

Nick Rumbelow RP | SEA
Yankees' Nick Rumbelow: Recalled, placed on 60-day DL
Rumbelow (elbow) was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday and placed on the 60-day DL.
This was merely a procedural move to free up a spot on the 40-man roster with active rosters in the major leagues expanding to 40 players on Sept. 1. Rumbelow underwent Tommy John surgery early in the season and almost certainly won't be available to begin 2017.

Joe Kelly RP | LAD
Red Sox's Joe Kelly: Recalled Friday
The Red Sox recalled Kelly from Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday.
Kelly posted a woeful 7.62 ERA over nine outings with the Red Sox earlier this season and was sent to the minors Aug. 1. However, he appeared to turn things around with Pawtucket, posting a 0.82 ERA and 16:1 K:BB in 11 innings over nine August outings. Kelly can start games, but he will likely work out of the bullpen in his latest go-around with the big club.

Kirby Yates RP | PIT
Yankees' Kirby Yates: Recalled from minor leagues
Yates was recalled from Rookie-level Pulaski on Friday.
Pulaski's season ended Thursday and thus Yates was eligible to return just three days after being optioned. Yates has struggled to a 5.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 3.6 BB/9 in 36 appearances with New York this season, numbers right in line with his career marks. He figures to pitch exclusively in the middle innings.

Nick Martinez SP | TB
Rangers' Nick Martinez: Recalled by Rangers
The Rangers recalled Martinez from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.
Martinez has allowed 22 earned runs over 27.2 innings (7.16 ERA) with the Rangers this season, but he has 61 big-league games under his belt, so the team wanted to add an experienced arm for the stretch run. Martinez will likely work out of the bullpen but could be used for a spot start if needed.

Joe Kelly RP | LAD
Red Sox's Joe Kelly: Returning to Boston on Friday
Kelly will be called up to Boston on Friday and join the Red Sox in Oakland, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
Kelly stands a realistic shot at being a key bullpen piece as manager John Farrell seeks to shore up the eighth-inning bridge to closer Craig KImbrel. The right-hander has been dominant since returning to Triple-A Pawtucket in early August. He's allowed one run on six hits in 11 innings, walking one and striking out 16.

Warwick Saupold RP | DET
Tigers' Warwick Saupold: Suspended five games
Saupold has been suspended five games following his arrest for an assault last weekend, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
The 26-year-old has pitched well for the team's Triple-A Toledo club this season, potentially putting him in line for a September call-up. While a five-game suspension won't rule him out in that regard, it certainly doesn't help his chances. Saupold will miss each of Triple-A Toledo's five remaining games, so it could be the end of the season for the Australian should he not join the Tigers.
-
Ryan Garton RP | SEA
Rays' Ryan Garton: Recalled from Durham
Garton was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Thursday.
Garton struggled out to a 4.73 ERA across 26.2 innings for the Rays earlier in the season, and he'll simply add depth to the bullpen over the final month of the season. The 26-year-old is unlikely to find himself pitching in many high-leverage situations.

Ken Giles RP | ATL
Astros' Ken Giles: Nails down seventh save Tuesday
Giles struck out one in a clean ninth to earn his seventh save of the season Wednesday against Oakland.
Giles is now 6-for-6 in save chances since taking over as the team's closer. He's tallied eight strikeouts over his last five innings. Giles has been racking up the stats of late, recording five saves and one win in six appearances since Aug. 21.
