Matt Strahm RP | KC
Royals' Matthew Strahm: Finding success in Double-A
Strahm has been having a solid year in Double-A Northwest Arkansas, putting up a 3.17 ERA with 70 strikeouts to only 15 walks in his first 14 starts.
Strahm continues to succeed as he climbs the minor league ladder. While his strikeout numbers are down a touch from last season, his command continues to be excellent.

Danny Farquhar RP | TB
Rays' Danny Farquhar: Returns from Durham
Farquhar was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Monday.
Farquhar was up with the Rays over the weekend, serving as the 26th man for Saturday's doubleheader against Baltimore. He was sent back to Triple-A following the two-game set but will now return to the bullpen, filling the roster spot vacated by Ryan Webb, who was DFA'd on Monday. Farquhar has conceded eight hits and three earned runs through 6.1 innings of major league work on the season.

Ryan Webb RP | SF
Rays' Ryan Webb: DFA'd by Rays
Webb was designated for assignment Monday.
Webb was just activated from the DL over the weekend, and he'll now be removed from the 40-man roster. The right-hander will be subject to waivers, and if he passes through unclaimed will likely land at Triple-A. Tampa Bay recalled right-hander Danny Farquhar to take Webb's spot on the roster.

Tommy Layne RP | STL
Red Sox's Tom Layne: Finds pitch for right-handed batters
Layne is throwing more curveballs and has incorporated a splitter against right-handed batters, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports. "We talked in spring training about something slow to throw to righties," said Layne. "I was basically fastball-slider last year, so I picked up a split and I've thrown quite a few curveballs the last couple of weeks. Just those two offerings, having a third or fourth pitch if I need it, that's made a big difference."
The Red Sox have used Layne as a lefty-specialist the last two seasons and will continue to optimize him in the role, but there are times when he needs to face right-handers. Like last Friday, when David Price was bounced after 2.1 innings and Boston needed length. Layne pitched two scoreless innings against hitters from both sides of the plate. This season, he's limiting right-handed batters to a .294 slugging percentage and .584 OPS, a vast improvement over 2015 (.517, .950) and 2014 (.500, .929).

Hector Santiago RP | SEA
Angels' Hector Santiago: Allows six runs Sunday
Santiago (4-4) allowed six runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out six over six innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Athletics.
Santiago gave up a grand slam and a solo homer in the fourth inning that accounted for five of his six runs, but the Angels' offense came up big after his departure to take him off the hook for a potential loss. He's now failed to post a quality start in six of his last eight starts, and his ERA is at 5.27. He'll make his next start Saturday at Boston.

David Robertson RP | PHI
White Sox's David Robertson: Earns 20th save of year Sunday
Robertson pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his 20th save of the year Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Robertson was protecting a three-run lead and only needed 10 pitches to close the door on the Blue Jays. With successful conversions on his last 10 save opportunities, he has a 3.31 ERA to go along with a 1.41 WHIP.

Ashur Tolliver RP | SEA
Orioles' Ashur Tolliver: Optioned to Triple-A Norfolk
Tolliver was sent to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
Tolliver allowed two hits over two-thirds of an inning in his only outing since being recalled on June 22, and that will be it for him for the time being. Left-hander T.J. McFarland, who pitched two scoreless innings Saturday as the 26th man for the team's doubleheader, is expected to take Tolliver's spot on the roster, but no official move has been announced yet.

Chad Girodo RP | LAD
Blue Jays' Chad Girodo: Will be sent to Triple-A
Girodo was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.
Girodo failed to do his job in his last appearance, allowing a hit to the only batter he faced, who ultimately came around to score. The outing likely played into the decision to swap him out for right-handed pitcher Ryan Tepera, who will take his spot on the 25-man roster and in the bullpen.

Tyler Duffey RP | KC
Twins' Tyler Duffey: Strikes out eight in Sunday's win
Duffey (3-6) was dominant Sunday, giving up one run on two hits over eight innings while striking out eight in a win over the Yankees.
With his spot in the rotation potentially on the line following seven straight starts in which he'd given up at least four runs, Duffey stepped up with his best performance of the season. His only real mistake resulted in a solo home run by Mark Teixeira. Otherwise, Duffey might have had a shot at his first career shutout. Duffey's next start will come back at home Saturday against the Rangers.

Bo Schultz RP | PIT
Blue Jays' Bo Schultz: Recalled from Triple-A
Schultz was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.
The hard-throwing righty will replace Gavin Floyd in the bullpen, after a bout with right shoulder tightness forced Floyd to the DL. It's the first taste of the majors this season for Schultz, who owned a 4.24 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 17 innings at Triple-A.
