  • Ryan Webb RP | SF

Rays' Ryan Webb: Surrenders earned run in inning of work Wednesday versus Red Sox

Webb surrendered two hits and an earned run in an inning of work in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Red Sox. He also struck out a batter.

The veteran righty gave up his first run since the opener versus the Blue Jays, but was sharp otherwise. Webb got 11 of his 16 offerings into the strike zone, and recorded a strikeout for the third time in his four appearances. With a plethora of arms in the Rays bullpen, Webb has seen eight and six days go by, respectively, between his last two trips to the mound, time frames which may contribute to some up-and-down performances if they become the norm. He's generated a 6.23 ERA over 4.1 innings of work so far in 2016.

  • Brad Boxberger RP | CHC

Rays' Brad Boxberger: Scheduled to take next step in rehab this weekend

Boxberger (abdomen) is slated to advance to throwing from halfway up the mound this coming weekend, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays closer has been progressing through his rehab without any hiccups so far. Boxberger remains on target for a mid-May return. Alex Colome has served as the de facto closer in Boxberger's stead, recording the only two saves (in two opportunities) that Tampa has to its credit in 2016.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Picks up first win of season Wednesday

Graveman (1-1) picked up a win over the Yankees Wednesday, going 6.1 innings and allowing just one run with eight strikeouts.

A second-inning home run by Didi Gregorius was the only blemish of the night for the 25-year-old. The right-hander has pitched well this season, but didn't have any wins to show for it heading into Wednesday. He's given up just four total runs in three starts and now has a 15:6 K:BB.

  • Dillon Tate RP | TOR

Rangers' Dillon Tate: Lands on DL with strained hamstring

Tate was placed on the minor league DL Wednesday with a right hamstring strain, the Fort Worth Start-Telegram's Stefan Stevenson reports.

Fortunately the young flamethrower's injury is to his lower half, but the injury will still cost him some time. He had not allowed an earned run in 10.2 innings (two starts) with Low-A Hickory, and had recorded 16 strikeouts in the process, so Tate's overall dynasty league value is still trending up, despite the injury.

  • White Sox's David Robertson: Improves to 6-for-6 in save opportunities this season

Robertson allowed two hits, but he recorded a rare four-out save in Chicago's 2-1 victory over the Angels on Wednesday.

The two singles he yielded were the first hits against Robertson this season, but otherwise, he remained perfect. Robertson has six appearances, all of which were save situations, and he nailed the door down in all of them. He also has six strikeouts, one walk and no runs allowed.

  • Jesse Chavez RP | ATL

Blue Jays' Jesse Chavez: Not available for Wednesday's game

Chavez (back) will not be available again Wednesday against the Orioles, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.

Chavez is still dealing with a sore back that's now sidelined him for two consecutive games. The 32-year-old has given up one earned run over 4.1 innings on the young season to go along with eight strikeouts. It's unclear whether the righty will be available out of the bullpen for Thursday's series finale against the Orioles.

  • Brian Johnson RP | BOS

Red Sox's Brian Johnson: Candidate to join starting rotation

Johnson is in the mix to start Sunday at Houston in place of Joe Kelly (shoulder), Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.

Henry Owens in the likely candidate to make the start for Kelly, with Roenis Elias and Johnson also in the discussion. Kelly could only make it through four batters on Tuesday, and was placed on the DL after the game. Johnson is the probable Triple-A Pawtucket starter for Thursday's game at Rochester. He pitched 5.1 innings Saturday, giving up two earned runs while collecting the win. Johnson has only made one career start in the majors, giving up four earned runs in 4.1 innings against the Astros last July.

  • Rays' Brent Honeywell: Tormenting High-A

    Honeywell, 21, has a 0.50 ERA and 19:2 K:BB through 18 innings for High-A Charlotte.

Honeywell is toying with hitters at this level, much as he did a season ago. He should be bumped up to Double-A shortly, and has emerged as one of the top prospects for the Rays.

  • Joe Kelly RP | LAD

Red Sox's Joe Kelly: MRI reveals no structural damage

Wednesday's MRI on Kelly's shoulder revealed no structural damage, but the Red Sox have yet to release a timetable for his return, Mike Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.

Kelly was officially diagnosed with a shoulder impingement following Wednesday's MRI, but it's still too early for the team's medical staff to approximate a potential return date for the right-handed starter. His absence leaves the Red Sox in a lurch in terms of their rotation; however, the club won't need to fill Kelly's spot until Sunday. At this point, the early candidates to fill in for Kelly are Henry Owens, Roenis Elias, or Brian Johnson.

  • Jimmy Reyes RP | TEX

Rangers' Jimmy Reyes: Over elbow issue

Reyes has a 1.93 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and four strikeouts in 4.2 innings of relief at Triple-A Round Rock.

He missed a chunk of spring training with a bruised elbow, but is back to working in high-leverage spots for the Express. Reyes is 1-for-1 in save opportunities this year, and will continue to serve as organizational bullpen depth.
