  • Kameron Loe RP | CHW

White Sox's Kameron Loe: Suspended 80 games

Loe received an 80-game suspension for testing positive for a performance enhancer, Dan Haynes of CSN Chicago reports.

It's the second suspension for Loe, as he was also banned to start last season after testing positive for a drug of abuse. The 34-year-old signed with the White Sox earlier in March, but he figures to serve primarily as organizational depth in the bullpen once he's cleared to return.

  • Tommy Kahnle RP | BOS

White Sox's Tommy Kahnle: Optioned to minor league camp

Kahnle was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Following an offseason trade from the Rockies, Kahnle was in play for a bullpen spot with the White Sox, but his fate was sealed by a poor spring performance that saw his ERA sit at 7.00 through seven appearances. The 26-year-old will start the year back in the minors, but it's possible he'll see some time in the big leagues should they find themselves in need of extra arms.

  • Tyler Duffey RP | KC

Twins' Tyler Duffey: Optioned to Triple-A

Duffey was optioned to Triple-A Rochester, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Ricky Nolasco will begin the season as Minnesota's No. 5 starter as a result. Duffey entered spring with almost a lock on a rotation spot, but he struggled with a 7.30 ERA and poor 6:6 K:BB ratio in 12.1 innings. Given his 3.10 ERA with a strong 8.2 K/9 in the majors in the second half of last season, he could be the first starter called up when there's an opening.

  • Rays' Danny Farquhar: Hurls two solid innings in Sunday loss

Farquhar surrendered two hits and an earned run over two innings in Sunday's 7-3 exhibition loss to the Blue Jays. He also struck out a batter.

It was another solid outing for the veteran right-hander, who continues to acquit himself well in his bid for a spot in the Rays bullpen following a forgettable 2015 season in Seattle. After posting a 1-8 record and 5.12 ERA over 51 innings last season, Farquhar has surrendered eight hits and two earned runs over 10.1 spring innings in seven appearances for Tampa, good for a stellar 1.74 ERA.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Completes side session Monday

Manaea (groin) completed a 28-pitch side session Monday and is slated to take part in a minor league Thursday or Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

In the aftermath of the session, Manaea reported no issues with his left leg, specifically the groin region, according to John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group. Although the ailment won't allow the left-hander to break camp with the big club, a glimmer of hope remains that he'll achieve full health in advance of Opening Day next Monday against the White Sox.

  • Kyle Crockett RP | CIN

Indians' Kyle Crockett: Optioned to Triple-A on Monday

Crockett was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

The left-hander pitched pretty well in spring training, but his last stint in the major leagues during the regular season left something to be desired, so he'll head back to the minors to develop more against advanced hitters. Given his major league experience, though, he could be one of the earlier arms to be called up if he performs well with the Clippers.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Will throw side session Monday

Manaea (groin) will throw a side session Monday, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.

This is very reassuring, as this development seems to show that his groin issue is fairly minor, although that should b clearer after the session concludes. If all goes well with the side session, Manaea is expected to appear in a minor league game toward the end of the week, which could have him on track to be ready for the start of the regular season.

  • Kirby Yates RP | PIT

Yankees' Kirby Yates: Still in the mix for Opening Day spot

Yates remains in the mix for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen, the New York Post reports.

With the Yankees' recent cuts from big league camp, Yates appears to be one of five relievers still in play for presumably two remaining spots in the club's bullpen. He's been terrific in spring training, stating his case with 6.1 scoreless innings to go along with an 8:1 K:BB and a minuscule 0.47 WHIP.

  • Carson Fulmer RP | PIT

White Sox's Carson Fulmer: Reassigned to minor league camp Saturday

The White Sox reassigned Fulmer to minor league camp Saturday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Fulmer's spring stats don't jump off the page, but he generally held his own while facing MLB batters for the first time while simultaneously adding new pitches to his repertoire. The 2015 first-round pick had little chance of making the club out of camp. He should report to Double-A Birmingham with the possibility of making it to Chicago later this season.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Will remain in Arizona out of camp

Manaea is dealing with minor discomfort in his left leg and will thus stay at the A's facility in Arizona when the big club leaves Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Confirming the nature of the injury, Manaea told Joe Stiglich of CSN Bay Area that the tightness resides in his left groin, but it will ensure that a productive spring doesn't translate to major league outings off the bat. Speaking of his Cactus League, Manaea conceded eight runs (seven earned) on 14 hits and seven walks, yet he racked up 16 strikeouts in 14.1 innings. Expect him to start the season at Triple-A Nashville or Double-A Midland.
