Jake Cousins RP | LAD
Brewers' Jake Cousins: Rehabbing in rookie ball
Cousins (shoulder) began a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Cousins landed on the injured list in early June with right shoulder inflammation and is now entering the final stages of his rehab process. He was optioned to Triple-A Nashville before his trip to the IL caused the option to be rescinded, so it's likely Cousins is sent back to Nashville once he's activated from the injured list. The 28-year-old righty holds a 4.82 ERA and 2.14 WHIP through 9.1 frames with Milwaukee this season.

Drey Jameson RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Drey Jameson: Moved to 60-day IL
The Diamondbacks transferred Jameson (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Jameson landed on the injured list Friday with right elbow inflammation, and his move to the 60-day IL ensures he'll be sidelined through early September. Tyler Gilbert was selected from Triple-A Reno to fill Jameson's spot on the 40-man roster.

Tyler Gilbert RP | CHW
Diamondbacks' Tyler Gilbert: Selected from Reno
The Diamondbacks selected Gilbert from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Gilbert holds an unimpressive 5.67 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 54 innings in the minors this season, but he will be called upon to bolster the D-backs' pitching staff. It's unclear whether Gilbert will be used out of the bullpen -- as he has been most of this season in Reno -- or join Arizona's rotation, but it would be wise to curb expectations for the 29-year-old lefty either way. Kyle Lewis was optioned to Triple-A to clear a spot on the active roster, and Drey Jameson (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day IL to open a 40-man spot.

Tyson Miller RP | CHW
Brewers' Tyson Miller: DFA'd by Crew
The Brewers designated Miller for assignment Saturday.
Miller gave up one run on a hit and two walks over two-thirds of an inning Friday, and now he'll be pushed off the 40-man roster after accumulating a 5.79 ERA and 1.29 WHIP through 9.1 innings in the majors. Miller's minor-league numbers (3.86 ERA, 1.47 WHIP) make it possible he's claimed by another team off waivers, but his ceiling remains as an MLB depth piece.

Abner Uribe RP | MIL
Brewers' Abner Uribe: Promoted to big leagues
The Brewers recalled Uribe from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Uribe has quickly ascended through the Brewers' farm system this season, posting a 1.96 ERA and 1.13 WHIP while striking out 41 batters through 23 frames between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville. The 23-year-old righty can touch 103 mph with his fastball, and he could be in the mix for high-leverage outings down the line if his incredible strikeout rate translates into the bigs. Tyson Miller was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Tony Santillan RP | CIN
Reds' Tony Santillan: Optioned to Triple-A
The Reds optioned Santillan to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.
After throwing two scoreless innings since returning from the 60-day injured list Thursday, Santillan will be pushed off the active roster to make room for Michael Mariot, who was selected from Louisville on Saturday. The 26-year-old righty put up a 7.00 ERA and 2.22 WHIP through nine innings during his rehab assignment in Triple-A, and he'll likely have to show improvement before rejoining the Reds' bullpen.

Taylor Rogers RP | MIN
Giants' Taylor Rogers: Handed loss Friday
Rogers (4-3) allowed two runs on two walks and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Friday versus the Rockies.
Rogers threw just 10 of 21 pitches for strikes to begin the seventh inning, and his brother, Tyler Rogers, was then tagged for a three-run home run by Ezequiel Tovar. This was the first time since April 12 that the southpaw Rogers has given up multiple runs, and it's just the fourth appearance in that span that he's been scored on at all. He owns a 3.30 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 38:15 K:BB through 30 innings while adding a save and four holds. Despite Friday's misstep, he should continue to be a high-leverage option.
-
Kyle Leahy RP | STL
Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Takes loss in debut
Leahy (0-1) allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Friday versus the White Sox.
Leahy gave up a solo home run to Luis Robert and then loaded the bases. Chris Stratton allowed an inherited runner to score, breaking the tie and leaving Leahy with the loss in his MLB debut. Leahy had a mediocre 4.06 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 51:23 K:BB over 51 innings with Triple-A Memphis as a long reliever, and it's possible his stay on the big-league roster could be short.
-
Daniel Bard RP | COL
Rockies' Daniel Bard: Picks up first save
Bard pitched a scoreless ninth inning and didn't allow a baserunner to earn the save Friday against the Giants.
Bard has been pitching in high-leverage situations of late, as he's picked up two holds and now his first save of the season in his last five appearances. He's allowed two earned runs in that span, though he has only two strikeouts compared to three walks. However, Bard's usage Friday suggests he could continue to see save opportunities, as Justin Lawrence -- the presumptive closer -- pitched the eighth inning.

Ryan Walker RP | SF
Giants' Ryan Walker: Opening Saturday's contest
Walker will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Rockies at Oracle Park, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Between 32 outings in the majors and at Triple-A Sacramento this season, Walker hasn't covered more than three innings on any occasion, so the Giants will likely have him work a frame or two before turning the game over to the bullpen. Manager Gabe Kapler hasn't formally appointed a primary pitcher to work behind Walker, but Sean Manaea and Jakob Junis should both be capable of giving the Giants multiple innings, if needed.
