Derek Law RP | ARI
Reds' Derek Law: Makes return from IL
The Reds reinstated Law (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.
Law will rejoin the Reds ahead of their series finale against the Padres after he had been on the shelf for the past six weeks with a mild flexor mass strain. Cincinnati gave Law the green light to rejoin its bullpen after he struck out four batters over three scoreless innings across his three rehab appearances in the minors.

Javier Assad RP | CHC
Cubs' Javier Assad: Tosses three scoreless innings
Assad tossed three scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 6-0 loss to the Guardians. He allowed a hit and a walk while striking out five.
Assad looked sharp in the long-relief appearance and recorded a season high in strikeouts. The 25-year-old has pitched well lately, allowing one run over eight innings in his last three appearances. However, he's not pitching that frequently, as he's taken the mound just five times since the start of June. Assad has some talent, but his current role isn't particularly fantasy friendly.

Buck Farmer RP | CIN
Reds' Buck Farmer: Cedes two homers in loss
Farmer allowed three runs (two earned) on two hits over one inning in Saturday's 12-5 loss to San Diego.
Farmer allowed back-to-back homers to Juan Soto and Manny Machado, giving him six runs and three home runs allowed in the last two outings. Prior to that, Farmer had been effective out of the bullpen, posting a 2.56 ERA over his first 37 appearances, including 1.75 since May 3. Manager David Bell has had to lean on relievers during a stretch in which a thin rotation is not getting deep into games, and Farmer hasn't pitched a clean inning since June 7.

Adam Ottavino RP | NYY
Mets' Adam Ottavino: Nails down sixth save
Ottavino walked one in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his sixth save of the season in a 4-1 win over the Giants.
David Robertson had worked each of the previous two days and blew a save Friday, so Ottavino got the call in this one and got the job done. It was his first save since May 26, and Ottavino's recent control issues don't suggest he's going to supplant Robertson in the closer role any time soon -- over his last four appearances, he has a 3:6 K:BB while also hitting one batter and firing two wild pitches. On the season, Ottavino has a 4.01 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB through 33.2 innings, adding eight holds to his ledger.

Scott McGough RP | ATH
Diamondbacks' Scott McGough: Walks two in save
McGough walked two batters and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Angels.
This was McGough's first appearance since his three-run meltdown in a blown save versus the Rays. He's allowed multiple baserunners in three straight outings, though he was able to navigate trouble Saturday. The 33-year-old is up to seven saves, 12 holds and four blown saves with a 2.93 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 51:16 K:BB through 43 innings this season.

Pierce Johnson RP | CIN
Rockies' Pierce Johnson: Surrenders game-deciding homer
Johnson (1-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits to take the loss Saturday against the Tigers.
Johnson entered the game in the 10th inning with the score tied at 2-2. However, he served up a single and home run to the first two batters he faced. That snapped a five-appearance scoreless streak for Johnson, during which he maintained an impressive 9:2 K:BB across five frames. Justin Lawrence is seemingly the team's primary closer, though Johnson tallied a save Friday against the Tigers and could continue to see chances moving forward.

Peter Lambert SP | HOU
Rockies' Peter Lambert: Does well as opener
Lambert allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two over three scoreless innings in Saturday's extra-inning loss to the Tigers. He did not factor in the decision.
The Rockies utilized a bullpen game Saturday, and Lambert covered the most innings as the opener. Three of his five scoreless outings this season have come in his last five appearances. He's also given up multiple runs in seven of his 15 outings. The right-hander remains a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. He's pitched to a lackluster 6.29 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 36:15 K:BB through 34.1 innings while posting a 1-1 record this year.

Peter Lambert SP | HOU
Rockies' Peter Lambert: Starting bullpen game
Lambert will serve as the opener for Saturday's game against the Tigers, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.
The Rockies will be utilizing their bullpen to get through the game, but Lambert will start the contest. He has pitched as many as 3.1 innings this season, though both of his most recent outings have lasted only one frame. He's unlikely to work deep enough into the game to qualify for the win.

Justin Bruihl RP | STL
Dodgers' Justin Bruihl: Sent to Triple-A
Bruihl was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
Bruihl will be the player to make way as Julio Urias (hamstring) returns from the injured list. His latest stint on the big-league roster lasted just two days, but he got into a game in both of them, scattering three hits across three scoreless innings. Bruihl owns a 3.72 ERA and 15:3 K:BB in 19.1 major-league innings this season.

George Soriano RP | STL
Marlins' George Soriano: Back in big leagues
Soriano was recalled by the Marlins on Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Soriano is now on his third stint with the big-league club this season. During his previous time with the team, he recorded a 2.70 ERA in 10 innings despite a modest 6:4 K:BB. Archie Bradley was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
