  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Secures fifth save

Iglesias picked up the save in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over Oakland, tossing a perfect ninth in which he recorded one strikeout.

Iglesias had a rocky performance Tuesday during a non-save situation, but he bounced back Thursday with a perfect outing en route to his fifth save of the year. The veteran right-hander missed the first month of the season with a shoulder strain, but he's been Atlanta's go-to closer since. A.J. Minter is 7-for-10 in save opportunities, which currently leads the team, but the majority of those chances came before Iglesias was activated.

  • Jose Alvarado RP | PHI

Phillies' Jose Alvarado: Throws live batting practice

Alvarado (elbow) threw 13 pitches of live batting practice Wednesday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

As long as there are no complications in the aftermath of the workout, Alvarado could be cleared to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment before the end of the week. He had pitched to a stellar 0.63 ERA and 24:0 K:BB across 14.1 innings this year for the Phillies prior to going on the injured list May 10 with left elbow inflammation. He should be in the mix for saves again once he returns to full health.

  • A.J. Puk RP | ARI

Marlins' A.J. Puk: Remains on rehab assignment

Marlins manager Skip Schumaker said Wednesday that Puk (elbow) will make back-to-back rehab appearances before being activated, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Puk tossed a scoreless inning on 15 pitches in his rehab debut Tuesday with Double-A Pensacola, but the Marlins want him to fully test his left elbow before they return him to a high-leverage bullpen role. Those back-to-back appearances could come Thursday and Friday, though the timeline is not firm. The 28-year-old southpaw has been on the shelf since May 14 because of elbow nerve irritation.

  • Dinelson Lamet RP | LAD

Rockies' Dinelson Lamet: Comes off IL to start Wednesday

Colorado reinstated Lamet (back) off the 15-day injured list to start against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Lamet ended up missing close to a month after being placed on the 15-day injured list May 4 with stiffness in his lower back. The right-hander was operating out of the bullpen at the time, but he was stretched out during his minor-league rehab assignment and will now get a chance to give the Rockies' rotation an added boost. Lamet showed flashes of brilliance as a starter when he was a member of the Padres, but he's struggled to be able to stick on the mound with a litany of injuries from 2017 through 2021. He's an intriguing speculative add, and one that makes more sense to have in a fantasy lineup when he's not pitching in the unfriendly confines of Coors Field. One of those opportunities for Lamet comes Wednesday in his outing against Arizona.

  • Blair Calvo RP | DET

Rockies' Blair Calvo: Optioned to Triple-A

Colorado optioned Calvo to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

Calvo retired all three batters he faced while making his major-league debut Tuesday out of the Rockies' bullpen, but he'll get the boot for Dinelson Lamet (back) ahead of Wednesday night's game against the Diamondbacks.

  • Colin Selby RP | BAL

Pirates' Colin Selby: On shelf with shoulder injury

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Selby has been shut down at Triple-A Indianapolis due to a shoulder injury, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Selby hasn't resumed a throwing program since Indianapolis placed him on the 7-day injured list May 19 with a previously undisclosed injury. Based on where he currently stands in his recovery from the shoulder issue, Selby is likely at least a few weeks away from being ready to pitch in games.

  • Wil Crowe RP | PIT

Pirates' Wil Crowe: Throwing off flat ground

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Crowe (shoulder) has resumed throwing off flat ground, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

Crowe received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right shoulder May 10 and has now been cleared to resume a throwing program three weeks later. Per Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Crowe has been throwing from around 75 feet, so he'll likely need to double up that distance before advancing to mound work. Crowe is currently on the 60-day injured list and won't be eligible for activation until the latter half of June.

  • Padres' Nick Martinez: Notches third win

Martinez (3-2) earned the win Tuesday against Miami, allowing a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning.

Martinez has been solid this month, pitching to a 1.69 ERA across 16 innings in May. The 32-year-old right-hander isn't overtaking Josh Hader for the closing job in San Diego, but he's been the team's top setup option and should see an expanded role with Luis Garcia (oblique) sidelined. Martinez sports a 2.76 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP and 37:17 K:BB this season.

  • Dylan Floro RP | ARI

Marlins' Dylan Floro: Struggles in third loss

Floro (3-3) took the loss in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to San Diego. He allowed five runs (three earned) on two hits and two walks without recording an out.

It was a nightmarish outing for Floro, who was called upon to keep the game tied 4-4 in the ninth. The veteran right-hander faced five batters, allowing all to reach safely, eventually departing with an 8-4 deficit. Floro has served as Miami's primary closer with A.J. Puk sidelined, going 4-for-5 in save chances with Puk on the shelf. However, Floro has struggled to a 23.14 ERA over his last four outings. With Puk beginning a rehab assignment, Floro's fantasy value appears to be waning. His ERA is up to 4.50 with a 1.33 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB through 24 innings this season.

  • Ryan Weathers SP | NYY

Padres' Ryan Weathers: Allows four in no-decsion

Weathers did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings against the Marlins. He struck out four.

It certainly could've been worse for Weathers, as it took him 96 pitches to make it through just four innings. The 23-year-old southpaw has struggled recently while stop-gapping the Padres' rotation, allowing 11 earned runs over his last three outings (15.2 innings). Weathers is 1-3 with a 4.28 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 22:14 K:BB through 33.2 innings this season. He could make at least one more start Sunday against the Cubs with Seth Lugo (calf) still on the IL.
