Jimmy Yacabonis RP | NYM
Mets' Jimmy Yacabonis: Added to active roster
The Mets selected Yacabonis' contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.
Yacabonis will provide the big club with a fresh arm after the bullpen was taxed for six innings behind David Peterson on Friday. Considering Yacabonis has a 6.24 career ERA and a 9.00 ERA in nine innings in the majors this season, it's unlikely we'll see him in any important spots.

Clayton Andrews RP | NYY
Brewers' Clayton Andrews: Returns to majors
The Brewers recalled Andrews from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Andrews will return for a second stint with the Brewers, though it could be just a one-day stay, as the team will need to open a roster spot for Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) on Sunday. The lefty Andrews made a pair of appearances the last time around, allowing five runs on five hits over 1.2 innings. He's pitched to a 2.63 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 35 appearances with Nashville this season.

JT Chargois RP | TEX
Marlins' JT Chargois: Moves to injured list
Chargois was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a strained right rib cage, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The right-hander presumably suffered the injury during his last appearance Wednesday against the Phillies when he fired two scoreless frames. Chargois will be eligible to be reinstated Aug. 19, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy by that point.

Devin Smeltzer RP | MIA
Marlins' Devin Smeltzer: DFA'd by Miami
Smeltzer was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Smeltzer had his contract selected by Miami on Thursday and delivered three scoreless frames in two appearances, but it wasn't enough to retain his spot on the 40-man roster. The left-hander has a 5.79 ERA across 18.2 innings overall this year.

Huascar Brazoban RP | CHW
Marlins' Huascar Brazoban: Rejoins big club
Brazoban was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The right-hander was just demoted to Triple-A on Thursday but will quickly rejoin the MLB roster since JT Chargois (ribs) was placed on the injured list. Brazoban has made 45 appearances out of Miami's bullpen this season and has a 4.13 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 53:26 K:BB over 52.1 innings.

Ryan Weathers SP | NYY
Marlins' Ryan Weathers: Up with big-league club
Weathers was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The 23-year-old was acquired from the Padres on Tuesday, and the Marlins didn't waste much time before bringing him up to the big leagues. Weathers has a 6.25 ERA across 44.2 innings this year and could provide some length out of the bullpen Saturday in Texas behind starter George Soriano.

Mason Thompson RP | TEX
Nationals' Mason Thompson: Lands on injured list
Thompson was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left knee contusion, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Thompson hasn't pitched in a game since July 31, so it's unclear when exactly he suffered the injury. Saturday's starting pitcher, Joan Adon, was recalled from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Joan Adon SP | WAS
Nationals' Joan Adon: Called up for Saturday's start
Adon was recalled from Triple-A Rochester ahead of his start against the Reds on Saturday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
The 24-year-old is making a spot start Saturday with Trevor Williams (personal) on the bereavement list. Adon had a 7.10 ERA over 64.2 innings for the Nationals last season but has spent most of 2023 at Rochester, where he has a 4.62 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 80:40 K:BB in 17 starts.

Justin Wilson RP | BOS
Brewers' Justin Wilson: Won't return this season
Manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Wilson (lat) will miss the rest of the 2023 season, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Wilson suffered the lat strain while warming up for his season debut July 29 after recovering from Tommy John surgery, and he won't end up taking the big-league mound this season. The veteran left-hander made just five appearances last year before requiring the elbow procedure, and 2023 is now a lost season. He has a $2.5 million club option for 2024, but the Brewers aren't likely to exercise that option given the circumstances.

Joan Adon SP | WAS
Nationals' Joan Adon: Draws spot start Saturday
Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Adon will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester to start Saturday's game in Cincinnati, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Adon will likely just be getting a spot start for the big club as he steps into the rotation as a replacement for Trevor Williams (personal), who remains on the bereavement list. The 24-year-old has made two relief appearances at the big-league level in 2023 but has otherwise spent the entire campaign as a member of the rotation in Rochester, where he's accrued a 4.62 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 80:40 K:BB in 87.2 innings. He was one of the majors' worst-performing pitchers during his 14-start run in the Washington rotation in 2022, going 1-12 with a 7.10 ERA in 64.2 innings.
