Phillips struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Angels.

Phillips finished off the bullpen game with his fifth straight scoreless outing. He's allowed just one walk while striking out nine over that six-inning span. Phillips didn't record a save from May 13 to June 18, but he's notched two of them in his last two outings. He's up to nine saves, six holds, a 2.12 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB through 29.2 innings as one the Dodgers' best relievers.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Miller (neck) will be out for a minimum of 3-to-4 weeks, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Miller has dealt with neck problems previously during his career, and his current injury appears to be the most recent instance of a long-standing issue. The 32-year-old righty has been solid this season with a 2.40 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 30 innings, but his next appearance will have to wait until after the All-Star break.

Edwards (shoulder) was sent for an MRI on his right shoulder Wednesday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Edwards landed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday afternoon with a diagnosis of right shoulder inflammation, but the imaging scans will provide a clearer overall scope of the issue. The 31-year-old had been shaping up as a strong trade candidate for the Nationals with a 3.69 ERA through 31.2 innings of setup duty. Maybe he can return sometime in July, ahead of the Aug. 1 trade deadline.

Graterol will serve as the Dodgers' opener Wednesday versus the Angels, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Michael Grove was expected to get the start, but he'll instead operate in bulk relief. This will be the first opener assignment of the year for Graterol, who has pitched to an excellent 2.40 ERA and 24:3 K:BB in 30 innings (32 appearances) out of the Dodgers' bullpen.

San Diego recalled Morejon from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.

Morejon is up in the majors for the first time in 2023 and will presumably fill a middle-relief role for the Padres. He was sidelined until late May due to left elbow inflammation but had since registered a 1.29 ERA with nine strikeouts across seven innings at the Triple-A level.

San Diego optioned Carlton to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.

Carlton had allowed seven earned runs on seven hits and six walks over his last 8.2 innings (five appearances) out of the Padres' bullpen. Adrian Morejon has been called up to take his place.

The Dodgers placed Miller on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with neck pain.

Miller hadn't made an appearance since last Thursday and will now get a couple weeks off for rest and treatment. The 32-year-old right-hander has proven to be a nice find for Los Angeles this season, boasting a 2.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31 strikeouts through 30 innings of relief. He'll be eligible to return in early July.

Martinez (3-3) was tagged with the loss and a blown save Tuesday against the Giants, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over 1.2 innings.

Martinez entered with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning with two runners on base. He retired David Villar to escape the threat, but Martinez game up a game-tying solo shot to Joc Pederson leading off the eighth and allowed two of the three batters he faced in the ninth to reach base. One of those scored the winning run, tagging Martinez with the loss. Tuesday's performance was the second straight for Martinez in which he's been charged with two runs, but his ERA still sits at a respectable 3.30 on the campaign. He's added a 1.27 WHIP, 46:20 K:BB, nine holds and one save over 28 outings.

Heuer (elbow) was removed from his latest rehab appearance Tuesday with Triple-A Iowa due to an apparent arm injury, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Heuer is working his way back from March 2022 Tommy John surgery, but it's unclear if he suffered an aggravation with his elbow or if he's tending to a new injury. Before his early departure Tuesday, Heuer had largely struggled over a rehab assignment that began at Iowa in early May, posting a 7.82 ERA, 2.05 WHIP and 15:11 K:BB in 12.2 innings over 15 appearances.

The Nationals placed Edwards on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right shoulder inflammation, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Washington opted to shut Edwards down after he experienced discomfort in his shoulder coming out of his most recent relief appearance in Monday's 8-6 loss to St. Louis. Though his initial diagnosis of inflammation rather than a shoulder sprain or strain bodes well for a speedy recovery, the Nationals aren't putting an official timeline on Edwards' return from the IL. The 31-year-old has been a key setup option this season, nabbing 13 holds, two saves and one win while accruing a 3.69 ERA over 32 appearances.
