McGough recorded the save in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Tigers, recording a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning.

McGough entered in relief of Andrew Chafin with runners on the corners and one out. The right-hander struck out Javier Baez before inducing a game-ending groundout from Nick Maton. The 33-year-old McGough has been spotless of late -- he's now gone 11.1 innings without allowing a run, allowing just two hits while striking out 17 in that span. His ERA is down to 2.97 with a 0.87 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB through 33.1 innings this season. With Miguel Castro struggling a bit of late, McGough could be in the mix for more closing opportunities in Arizona.

Reyes underwent surgery on his right shoulder last week and has been ruled out for the 2023 season, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

The surgery is Reyes' second on his right shoulder in a little over a year, as he previously required a procedure to repair a torn labrum back in May 2022. The right-hander was signed to a one-year, $1.1 million contract in the offseason with the hope that the former Cardinals top prospect could offer a boost to the Los Angeles bullpen, but he won't end up throwing a pitch for the Dodgers in 2023. His deal contains a $3 million team option for 2024 that the Dodgers will most likely decline this winter.

The Dodgers optioned Jackson to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Jackson will head back to the minors since he likely wouldn't have been available out of the bullpen for the next few days after recording a three-inning save in Saturday's win over the Phillies. The Dodgers called up Adam Kolarek from Oklahoma City to provide the team with a fresh arm for Sunday's series finale.

The Dodgers selected Kolarek's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Kolarek will get a chance to appear in a big-league game for the first time since 2022, when he registered a 4.58 ERA for the Athletics. Andre Jackson was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding transaction, with Trayce Thompson (oblique) being moved to the 60-day injured list to open room on the 40-man roster for Kolarek.

Herget was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.

Herget will return to Louisville just one day after he was called up. He appeared in the team's contest against the Cardinals on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits while also hitting a batter over 1.1 frames. The 32-year-old was the odd man out in Cincinnati's bullpen with Casey Legumina (ankle) being activated from the 15-day injured list Sunday.

Legumina will return to the major-league roster for the first time since he was placed on the IL on May 14 with a right ankle contusion. The right-hander appeared in two games with Triple-A Louisville on his rehab assignment, allowing a solo homer while striking out four batters over two innings. Legumina will replace Kevin Herget in the big-league bullpen after Herget was optioned to Louisville on Sunday.

Jackson earned a save against Philadelphia on Saturday, allowing three hits and striking out three batters over three scoreless innings.

Jackson was called up earlier in the day and was deployed in the seventh inning after rookie Bobby Miller gave Los Angeles six scoreless frames. Jackson preserved the shutout and was credited with a save, throwing 30 of 39 pitches for a strike without walking any batters. The right-hander has notched two saves this season and four in his career, all of which have been three innings in length. His latest call-up is a result of Shelby Miller going on the bereavement list, so Jackson may head back to the minors before long.

Ferguson will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Manager Dave Roberts said after Saturday's 9-0 win that the Dodgers would use a left-handed opening pitcher Sunday for the second time in the series, and rather than going back to Victor Gonzalez -- who started Friday -- the skipper will instead turn to Ferguson to open the finale in Philadelphia. Ferguson hasn't recorded more than three outs in any of his 26 appearances this season and may work only an inning or two before turning the game over to the bullpen.

Hader struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his 15th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Rockies.

The southpaw had been struggling a bit, posting a 0:3 K:BB over his prior three appearances, but Hader appeared to be in vintage form in this one. On the season, he sports a 1.42 ERA and 34:12 K:BB through 25.1 innings on the season while converting 15 of 18 save chances.

Weathers didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Rockies, allowing one run on three hits over three innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.

Aside from a solo shot by Nolan Jones, Weathers pitched well but still got the hook after just 43 pitches (25 strikes) as the Padres elected to use the southpaw as a de facto opener rather than a traditional starter. Given his 4.93 ERA and 25:15 K:BB through 38.1 innings on the season, it's understandable San Diego might want to limit his exposure to hitters. The 23-year-old lines up for a home start next weekend against the Rays, but if Weathers won't be allowed to pitch at least five innings and qualify for a win, his fantasy value will be minimal regardless of opponent.
