The Dodgers designated Covey for assignment Thursday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

One day after pitching in the majors for the first time since 2020, Covey has once again been cast off the Dodgers' 40-man roster. The 31-year-old righty holds a 4.22 ERA and 1.44 WHIP through 32 innings in Triple-A this season. It's possible Covey gets claimed by a team in search of a multi-inning reliever, but his career 6.54 ERA in the majors lowers his chances.

The Dodgers recalled Jackson from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Jackson will get another shot out of the Dodgers' bullpen ahead of their four-game set in St. Louis, which begins Thursday night. He's been lit up for 10 earned runs on 17 hits and two walks through 11.1 major-league innings this season.

Rolison (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Single-A Fresno on Tuesday and tossed three scoreless innings, striking out three while allowing two hits and one walk.

Rolison missed the entire 2022 season and eventually underwent surgery last June to repair the labrum in his left shoulder, but he looks to be just a few weeks away from returning from the 60-day injured list. Heading into the season, the Rockies may have initially been planning to option Rolison to Triple-A Albuquerque at the conclusion of his 30-day rehab window, but long-term elbow injuries to German Marquez and Antonio Senzatela have already tested the organization's thin pitching depth. If Rolison continues to fare reasonably well when he eventually moves his rehab assignment to higher-level affiliate, he could have a spot in the big-league rotation waiting for him once he's activated.

Covey did not factor in the decision against Minnesota on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three batters over four innings.

After being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City earlier in the day, Covey was pressed into early action when Dustin May was removed after one inning due to an elbow injury. Covey helped ease the strain on Los Angeles' bullpen with four decent frames, giving up a pair of solo homers but otherwise keeping Minnesota from scoring. The right-hander got a big boost in the sixth when Victor Gonzalez inherited his bases-loaded, no-out jam and managed to keep the Twins from pushing any runs across the plate. Covey had been working as a starter in the minors, helping him manage Wednesday's unexpectedly large workload. It stands to reason that he'll be held out for at least a few days since he tossed 63 pitches in the outing.

Suter (2-0) earned the win in Wednesday's 11-6 win over the Reds. He allowed one walk over one scoreless inning.

Suter has been excellent for the Rockies this season. The veteran left-hander has allowed just one run in his last 17.1 innings (12 appearances), lowering his ERA to 0.98 with a 0.98 WHIP and 26:10 K:BB. While Suter hasn't received a save opportunity this year, he could eventually work his way into the picture if Pierce Johnson or Daniel Bard struggle.

Santana cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.

It's the second time since April that Santana has cleared waivers after being removed from the 40-man roster. He'll remain in the organization.

Floro gave up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his third save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Nationals.

The right-hander is now 2-for-2 in converting save chances since A.J. Puk (elbow) landed on the IL. Floro is having a typically solid season, posting a 2.79 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB through 19.1 innings, and while he's not a dominant late-inning arm, he should fill the closer role for the Marlins adequately until Puk is ready to return.

Helsley recorded a save against the Brewers on Wednesday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Helsley entered in the eighth inning and retired one batter, then worked around a walk and a single in the ninth to close out the contest. The right-hander was plenty rested after pitching just once over the previous eight days, and he earned his fifth save of the campaign. Helsley has blown three saves, but his overall numbers are strong, as he's posted a 2.55 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB over 17.2 innings.

Brebbia (2-0) allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the win Wednesday over the Phillies.

Brebbia pitched the top of the eighth inning, and the Giants rallied ahead in their half of the frame. The right-hander has allowed a run on four hits and three walks with nine strikeouts through five innings in May. He has a 4.67 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, five holds and 27:7 K:BB through 17.1 innings over 19 appearances, including two turns as an opener, this season.

Iglesias struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Rangers.

Atlanta took a one-run lead in the ninth inning, and Iglesias made it stick. He'd allowed two runs in each of his last two appearances after debuting with a pair of scoreless outings. The right-hander missed the first month-plus of the season with a shoulder strain, and he's had a bit of trouble settling back into the closer role. Iglesias has an 8.31 ERA while converting two of three save chances over 4.1 innings so far.
