Solomon was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Solomon was bidding for one of the final spots in the Diamondbacks' bullpen, but his 2023 campaign will instead start with Triple-Reno. The former Houston prospect has a good chance of making appearances for Arizona before the end of the 2023 season, but the D-Backs will have to add him to the 40-man roster in order for that to take place.

Assad is expected to serve in a long-relief role for the Cubs to begin the season after Hayden Wesneski was named the team's No. 5 starter, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Wesneski seemed like the favorite to win the job throughout camp, so Assad shifting to the minors or the MLB bullen has been on the radar. If he sticks with the Cubs, Assad could be a multi-inning relief weapon, a role he excelled in with Team Mexico during the World Baseball Classic. The 25-year-old still has some upside and could be a starting option later in the year.

Yacabonis was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Mets on Sunday.

Yacabonis signed with the Mets as a non-roster invitee in December and pitched well during spring training with two runs allowed and an 8:2 K:BB across seven innings, but he was never a likely bet to make the Opening Day roster. The 31-year-old has a 6.03 ERA in 71 big-league appearances and is unlikely to serve as much more than organizational depth in 2023.

Martinez tossed 4.2 innings against Texas in a Cactus League contest Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out eight batters.

Martinez served up a homer to the first batter he faced (Ezequiel Duran) in the outing, but the hurler gave up only one more run after that. He threw "84 or 85" pitches, per Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan, and appears to be just about ready to go for the regular season. Martinez is tentatively lined up to make his first start April 1 at home against Colorado.

The Mets optioned Brigham to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

Brigham was fighting for one of the final spots in the Mets' bullpen, but his 2023 campaign will instead begin in the International League. The right-hander was relatively effective in the Grapefruit League with a 3.52 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over 7.2 innings. Brigham will likely will see time with the Mets before the 2023 season comes to a conclusion.

Anderson was informed Sunday he will be included on Atlanta's Opening Day roster, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

The veteran right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett last week, but he'll rejoin the big club ahead of Opening Day with Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) and Kyle Wright (shoulder) set to begin the season on the injured list. Anderson had seven saves and 22 holds with a 2.77 ERA and 136:21 K:BB over 81.1 innings during the 2019 and 2020 seasons, but he hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2021 while recovering from elbow surgery and a foot injury. He has high-leverage pedigree but will likely need to work his way up to those opportunities.

Tonkin has been informed that he has made the Opening Day roster, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Tonkin was added to the 40-man roster by Atlanta to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, and while he has forged a 5.87 ERA in 7.2 innings in the Grapefruit League, he's done enough to win a job to begin the season. It may be a short stint for Tonkin, however, as Bowman suggests Tonkin is likely the arm that gets sent down when Atlanta promotes Dylan Dodd for his start against the Cardinals next Tuesday.

The Marlins announced Sunday that Nance (shoulder) will remain at the team's spring camp in Jupiter, Fla. to begin the season and won't be part of the Opening Day roster, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Nance has yet to make an appearance during the Grapefruit League slate while he continues to battle right shoulder soreness. As a reliever, Nance isn't expected to require extensive ramp-up time, but his lack of game action to date suggests that he'll spend more than 15 days on the injured list to begin the campaign.

The Marlins announced Sunday that Okert (groin) will remain at the team's spring camp in Jupiter and won't be part of the Opening Day roster, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Okert is still working through left adductor soreness, so expect Miami to place him on the 15-day injured list within the next few days. The 32-year-old is projected to be a late-inning option for the Marlins in 2023 once healthy.

Solomon allowed one hit and two walks while striking out two over 2.2 scoreless innings in Saturday's spring start against the Mariners.

This was Solomon's first Cactus League appearance since March 10, as the right-hander has been victimized by rainouts and a logjam of starters needing work. He's pitched plenty on the back fields while vying for a multi-inning relief role. "There's consistency with the stuff," manager Torey Lovullo told Owen Perkins of MLB.com. "He pitches to spots, pitches to a game plan. I think there's an opportunity to see what he can do in certain situations and give us some length." Solomon was selected in the Rule 5 draft over the winter and could grab a bullpen spot. The decision appears to hinge on whether Lovullo is comfortable moving whichever young starter -- Drey Jameson or Ryne Nelson -- loses out on the No. 5 job to relief.
