Rogers (4-7) gave up one earned run on two hits and no walks while striking out one over one inning to tally the win in a 7-6 victory over the Yankee on Friday.

Rogers came in to protect a one-run lead in the top of the ninth and he promptly blew the save by giving up a solo home run to Josh Donaldson, which hit the left-field foul pole. He then gave up a no-outs double to Oswaldo Cabrera but settled down to retire the side. Despite blowing his ninth save of the season, Rogers picked up the win thanks to a Brewers walkoff victory in the bottom of the inning. Rogers has an ERA of 4.91 in 18.1 innings pitched since being acquired by Milwaukee at the trade deadline.

Helsley struck out the side on nine pitches to earn the save in Friday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

It was the third immaculate inning recorded in Cardinals history, and it was enough to secure a win after St. Louis trailed three times in the contest. Helsley has converted six straight save chances despite allowing two runs over six innings in that span. The hard-throwing righty owns a 1.21 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 87:17 K:BB through 59.1 innings while racking up 18 saves in 22 attempts, six holds and a 9-1 record.

Edwards (6-3) picked up the win in Friday's 5-4 victory over the Marlins, giving up three hits and striking out one in a scoreless eighth inning.

The right-hander picked off Luke Williams at first base to help prevent any damage from the three singles he allowed, and Edwards then got the win when the Nationals broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the eighth. The 31-year-old has got his career back on track in 2022 after some injury-plagued campaigns, and since the All-Star break he sports a 2.18 ERA over 20.2 innings with four wins, four holds and two saves, albeit with a 1.45 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB.

Finnegan gave up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his ninth save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Marlins.

He tossed only seven of 12 pitches for strikes and didn't fan a batter, but three groundballs to the left side of the infield got the job done. Finnegan has had a couple meltdowns recently, but since taking over as Washington's closer after the All-Star break, he has a palatable 3.68 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 15:8 K:BB through 22 innings while converting eight of nine save chances.

Alzolay (lat) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Alzolay has been sidelined since the start of the season due to a lat strain but has spent the last month in the minors on a rehab assignment. The right-hander will pitch out of the Cubs' bullpen now that he's back to full health.

Rodriguez struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his second save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Rockies.

The 26-year-old has been tagged for a run in four of eight appearances since joining the big-league roster in late August, but he does have a win and a hold over that stretch in addition to his saves. With the Cubs evaluating talent ahead of 2023, Rodriguez appears to be getting a long look in a high-leverage role over the final weeks of the season.

Hudson was recalled from Triple-A Memphis to serve as the 29th man during Saturday's doubleheader against the Reds.

Hudson was sent to the minors Sept. 5 but will start the first game of Saturday's twin bill. Over five major-league starts in August, he posted a 5.76 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in 25 innings.

Diaz picked up the save Friday against the Pirates, walking one and striking out two over 1.2 scoreless innings.

Diaz's save Friday was his 30th of the season, good for seventh in baseball. It was his first save since Aug. 31 and the third time he was called upon to save the game across multiple innings. After seeing his ERA spike to 1.52 at the beginning of the month, Diaz has pitched well, giving up no runs and two hits across 3.1 innings over his last three appearances. His season ERA now sits at 1.43.

Yates was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with right elbow inflammation, retroactive to Sept. 13.

Yates returned to action Aug. 10 after recovering from Tommy John surgery that he underwent in March of 2021. He picked up two holds while posting a 5.14 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in seven innings over nine appearances across the last month, but he'll now be forced to miss time with elbow inflammation. It's not yet clear whether he'll be back prior to the end of the regular season, but it's possible that the team exercises caution with the 35-year-old given how recently he returned from rehabbing a significant elbow issue.

Cruz will work as the opener Friday against the Cardinals.

He tossed 1.2 perfect innings with zero strikeouts as the opener Tuesday against the Pirates. Raynel Espinal or Reiver Sanmartin would be logical options to work as the primary pitcher.
