Jackson was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Friday.

Jackson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett in early September, and he'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster after Ozzie Albies (foot) was reinstated from the 60-day IL. Since heading to the minors, Jackson has struck out two in two scoreless innings.

Manaea (7-9) took the loss against Arizona on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Manaea made his first start in nearly two weeks and pitched relatively well. Two of the hits he gave up were solo homers however, and that was more than enough to send the Padres to a loss on a night when they managed just three hits and zero runs. Manaea at least provided a positive takeaway after giving up 14 runs over 8.1 frames across his previous two starts, and he may be a key factor down the stretch as San Diego seeks to hold onto a wild-card spot.

Jameson (1-0) earned the win over San Diego on Thursday, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out five batters over seven scoreless innings.

Jameson has posted an uninspiring 6.95 ERA and 1.95 WHIP in 22 outings at the Triple-A level this season, but he looked like a seasoned major-leaguer in his Diamondbacks debut. The 25-year-old surrendered just two hits in the contest, keeping the Padres off the scoreboard for seven frames. Jameson wasn't overpowering -- he induced a modest eight swinging strikes -- but he allowed just two runners to reach second base and retired the final nine batters he faced. Given his strong start Thursday, he's likely to get another turn in the rotation next week.

Diaz picked up a save against the Cardinals on Thursday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk over one inning.

St. Louis managed only one run and one hit against a trio of Cincinnati pitchers through eight frames, and Diaz was asked to preserve a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth. He allowed a shift-busting single to begin the frame and then walked Tommy Edman to put the tying runs on base before retiring Paul Goldschmidt on a flyout. Nolan Arenado then hit a pop-fly single to load the bases, and Albert Pujols followed with a sacrifice fly, but Diaz got Corey Dickerson to ground out to end the game and earn the save. Despite the shaky outing, Diaz has looked like the Reds' closer of the future, posting a 1.93 ERA and 75:27 K:BB over 56 innings. He's likely to get most of Cincinnati's save chances down the stretch, though those may be limited given the team's poor record.

Floro allowed one earned run on two hits while striking out one in the ninth inning to earn the save Thursday against the Phillies.

Floro entered the game with a three-run lead and surrendered consecutive two-out singles to allow a run to cross the plate. That ended Floro's six-appearance scoreless streak, during which he maintained a 4:1 K:BB. He has now picked up each of Miami's last two saves -- bringing his total on the campaign to five -- and appears to be the preferred option to Tanner Scott for the closer role.

Nelson was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday with left elbow inflammation.

The 26-year-old apparently suffered the injury Monday against the Dodgers, when he allowed three runs on a hit and a walk without recording an out. It's been a breakout campaign for Nelson with a 2.19 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 30:14 K:BB over 37 innings this year, but the elbow injury could bring his season to an early end.

Jameson was called up from Triple-A Reno and will start Thursday against the Padres.

The 25-year-old was previously announced as the starter for Thursday's series opener, and he's now officially been added to the big-league roster. Jameson has a 6.95 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 109:42 K:BB across 114 innings with Reno this year, and he'll have a tough matchup versus the Friars in his MLB debut.

Almonte (elbow) threw 25 pitches to teammate Gavin Lux (neck) in a sim game Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Almonte was one of several injured Dodger pitchers who threw from a mound Wednesday, though he was the only one of the group who tossed to a hitter. The right-hander reportedly felt good during the sim game, with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts describing his stuff as "coming out hot," per MLB.com. Almonte is expected to toss another sim game soon before potentially heading out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Beede was designated for assignment by the Pirates on Thursday.

Beede served exclusively as a reliever early in the season but drew five starts over the last several weeks. He wasn't particularly effective over the last month with a 7.78 ERA and 1.93 WHIP in 19.2 innings over seven appearances (five starts) since Aug. 8. He'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster in a corresponding move for Eric Stout being recalled from Indianapolis.

Peters was designated for assignment by the Pirates on Thursday.

Peters hasn't played in a major-league game since Aug. 3 and has now returned from his rehab assignment for his left elbow. However, the Pirates placed him on waivers after his activation. The 30-year-old lefty has a 4.58 ERA and 1.32 WHIP on the season, so he's a candidate to be claimed by another team looking for another arm in their bullpen.
