Wilson was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.

As expected, Wilson returns to start Saturday against the Brewers opposite Aaron Ashby. The Pirates could really use some length from Wilson after the bullpen covered 7.1 innings Friday -- he may have to wear it even if he struggles. Wilson has posted an 8.29 ERA and 1.84 WHIP in 33.2 innings for the Pirates so far this season.

Atlanta reinstated Jackson (lat) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.

Touki Toussaint was designated for assignment to make room for Jackson on the 40-man roster. Jackson will essentially continue his rehab at Triple-A for a while longer after he missed the first three months of the season with a right lat strain. It would seem Atlanta expects him to contribute at the major-league level in the second half.

Kelley was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Kelley was recalled by the Brewers on Friday, and he allowed a run on two hits and three walks while striking out three in two relief innings against the Pirates. He'll head back to the minors after Aaron Ashby (forearm) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list.

Hughes (1-0) worked around two hits and a walk to pitch a scoreless inning of relief and earn the win Friday against the Red Sox. He struck out two.

Appearing in his 16th game at the MLB level, Hughes earned his first win, though he didn't make it easy. Coming on with one on and one out in the sixth, he struck out the first hitter he faced, but then allowed a single and a walk to load the bases. Another single brought home an inherited runner to make it 5-3 Boston, but a play at the plate prevented any more damage. The Cubs then rallied to score three in the bottom of the inning to set Hughes up for the win. The lefty has a 4.26 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 19 innings this year and should remain in a middle relief role for now.

Wittgren was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Saturday.

Wittgren hasn't pitched since giving up four runs on four hits and no walks while striking out one in one inning June 26, and he'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster. It's not yet clear whether he'll remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Hicks (forearm) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Saturday.

Hicks has been sidelined since late May due to a right forearm injury, but he spent the last week and a half at Triple-A Memphis on a rehab assignment. The 25-year-old posted a 12.60 ERA and 2.20 WHIP in five innings over four appearances (one start) in the minors and should serve as a multi-inning reliever for the Cardinals now that he's back to full health.

Hand struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his third save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Cardinals.

Seranthony Dominguez worked the eighth inning against the heart of the St. Louis order, while Hand got the ninth against the Cards' 7-8-9 hitters. Since Corey Knebel was removed from the closer role in mid-June, Hand and Dominguez have two saves each, and they'll likely continue to share the job as long as both of them remain effective.

Scott struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in a 6-3 win over the Nationals.

The veteran lefty continues to get the job done as the Marlins' closer. Since the beginning of June, Scott has been scored upon only twice in 12 appearances, posting a 2.31 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB through 11.2 innings over that stretch while converting seven of eight save chances.

Doval (2-4) took the loss Friday versus the White Sox, allowing an unearned run on two hits while striking out two and walking none in one inning.

It was Doval's own error that allowed Gavin Sheets to get aboard in the ninth inning with one out. Doval struck out Yoan Moncada, but then allowed a pair of two-out singles that led to a run. The Giants' offense wasn't able to do anything in the bottom of the ninth, leaving the right-hander with the loss. He's surrendered four runs (three earned) in his last five innings. Doval has a 2.88 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 42:13 K:BB across 34.1 innings while adding 12 saves, a hold and two blown saves in 35 outings.

Robertson earned his 10th save of the year Friday against the Red Sox, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning.

Robertson was tasked with protecting a one-run lead and got the job done in straightforward fashion, needing just eight pitches to get a flyout and a pair of groundouts. The outing lowered his ERA to 1.80. Just how many more saves he'll record for the Cubs is unclear, as the 37-year-old is on an expiring contract and should be a trade target for several contenders.
