Robertson earned his 10th save of the year Friday against the Red Sox, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning.

Robertson was tasked with protecting a one-run lead and got the job done in straightforward fashion, needing just eight pitches to get a flyout and a pair of groundouts. The outing lowered his ERA to 1.80. Just how many more saves he'll record for the Cubs is unclear, as the 37-year-old is on an expiring contract and should be a trade target for several contenders.

Wilson will be recalled to start Saturday against the Brewers, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

Wilson may be asked to soak up several innings after the Pirates were rocked for 19 runs Friday, with the bullpen covering 7.1 frames. The 24-year-old righty was far from impressive in six starts and three relief appearances before being sent down, struggling to an 8.29 ERA.

Sims will undergo season-ending surgery to address a herniated disc in his back, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Sims entered the season looking like the favorite to close games for Cincinnati, but he'll finish it with just a single save to his name. Elbow troubles limited him to just six appearances, in which he gave up seven runs in 6.2 frames, before he returned to the injured list with back problems. He attempted to pitch through the issue, but it got bad enough that he was in serious pain and couldn't feel his foot. Undergoing surgery now at least gives him plenty of time to get ready for spring training.

Bruihl was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Bruihl's latest stint in the big-league bullpen lasted just one day. He struck out one and walked one without allowing a hit or a run in 1.1 innings Thursday against the Padres but will return to the minors to make way for Ian Gibaut's arrival.

Kelley was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Kelley will return to the majors after he was sent down Tuesday, replacing Adrian Houser (elbow) on the active roster after he was placed on the 15-day injured list. Kelley has produced an unimpressive 6.88 ERA and 1.29 ERA with 16 strikeouts over 17 innings in 14 appearances with the Brewers this season.

Thompson (biceps) is back with the Nationals and will be activated from the 60-day injured list Friday, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Thompson will rejoin the team ahead of their series with the Marlins, making his return from a biceps injury that has sidelined him since April 10. The reliever has pitched one scoreless inning this season, walking two batters while striking out three. He'll initially operate in low-leverage situations.

Phillips (2-3) pitched 1.1 perfect innings against San Diego on Thursday, striking out one batter and earning the win.

Phillips came on in the seventh inning and needed only eight pitches to retire the side in order. He stayed in to face Manny Machado in the top of the eighth and struck out the superstar before departing. The Dodgers scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead and give Phillips his second win. The right-hander has been outstanding since the start of May, allowing only one run over 21 innings and posting a 23:7 K:BB over that span. He doesn't have any saves but has picked up seven holds during the campaign.

Bednar (back) allowed three earned runs on four hits and a walk across 0.2 innings Thursday against the Brewers.

Bednar pitched for the first time since June 25 and was immediately inserted back into the ninth-inning role, albeit with a four-run lead. However, things didn't go according to plan and he was pulled before he could record the final out of the game. It remains to be seen whether the poor performance was caused by rust, or if it's an indication that he's still not fully healthy. If Bednar becomes unavailable for an extended amount of time, Yerry De Los Santos appears to be the next man up for saves.

Bracho reported to Atlanta and will be active for Friday's contest versus the Reds.

After he was traded to the team from the Red Sox on Thursday, Bracho will be available out of the bullpen Friday. Over 18 games in Triple-A this season he posted a 3.16 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 36 punchouts over 31.1 innings. The right-hander will likely be used in low-leverage situations.

Tarnok gave up two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings Thursday for Double-A Mississippi, tying his career high as a professional with 12 strikeouts.

The right-hander got stronger as the start progressed, and Tarnok fanned eight of the final nine batters he faced while striking out the side in the fourth and fifth innings. The 23-year-old had a shaky start to the season, but over his last five appearances he's posted a 2.55 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB through only 17.2 innings. Tarnok has yet to put everything together after being the 80th overall pick in the 2017 Draft, but his fastball sits in the mid-90s and his curveball has flashed plus, and he may still have some development left in his athletic 6-foot-3 frame.
