Tarnok gave up two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings Thursday for Double-A Mississippi, tying his career high as a professional with 12 strikeouts.

The right-hander got stronger as the start progressed, and Tarnok fanned eight of the final nine batters he faced while striking out the side in the fourth and fifth innings. The 23-year-old had a shaky start to the season, but over his last five appearances he's posted a 2.55 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB through only 17.2 innings. Tarnok has yet to put everything together after being the 80th overall pick in the 2017 Draft, but his fastball sits in the mid-90s and his curveball has flashed plus, and he may still have some development left in his athletic 6-foot-3 frame.

Kimbrel earned the save against the Padres on Thursday, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.

Kimbrel was asked to protect a two-run lead, and he did so successfully without allowing any baserunners. The veteran threw nine of 14 pitches for strikes and fanned multiple batters for the sixth time in his past nine outings. Kimbrel finished June with a 2.70 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB over 10 innings during the month. He picked up four saves in five chances along with one win.

White pitched 4.2 innings against San Diego on Thursday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out three. He did not factor in the decision.

White got off to a rough start in the contest, allowing a run to score in the first inning on a Manny Machado double and a Nomar Mazara single. However, that was the only score the Padres could muster off the right-hander, who has taken over a rotation spot while Andrew Heaney (shoulder) is on the injured list. White hasn't been spectacular, but he's pitched well overall for the Dodgers this season, posting a 3.93 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB over 34.1 frames.

De Los Santos earned the save after tossing one-third of an inning in an 8-7 win Thursday over Milwaukee.

De Los Santos entered with two on and two out in the ninth inning after David Bednar yielded three runs earlier in the frame. He retired the only batter he faced to close out the game and pick up his second save in as many nights. While part of the reason for consecutive save chances is that Bednar (back) was unavailable earlier in the week, De Los Santos may see more opportunities if Bednar continues to struggle at the end of ballgames.

Bracho was traded to Atlanta from Boston on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations.

Bracho was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Thursday. He has appeared in 18 games with Triple-A Worcester this season and maintained a 3.16 ERA with a 36:4 K:BB. Bracho should factor into a low-leverage relief role with Atlanta throughout the final months of the season.

Bruihl was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

David Price is away from the team until Sunday due to a family emergency. Bruihl has been recalled to take Price's spot on the roster, and he's managed a 3.86 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 16.1 innings in the majors this season.

Ferguson (forearm) played catch prior to Thursday's game against the Padres, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Ferguson has thrown two live batting practice sessions since hitting the injured list June 20. His activity Thursday indicates he's come out of that activity with clean health, leaving him on track to potentially return during the team's weekend series against San Diego.

Hudson (knee) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Hudson was already ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL last week, so it was only a matter of time before he moved to the 60-day IL. Ian Gibaut was claimed off waivers in a corresponding move.

Gibaut was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers on Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Gibaut was designated for assignment by the Guardians earlier this week, and he'll join the Dodgers after the waiver claim. The 29-year-old made his season debut Monday for Cleveland and delivered 1.1 scoreless innings, and he has a 3.20 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB over 19.2 innings at Triple-A this year.

Diaz (biceps) will require at least two more throwing sessions before he's cleared to return, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The Reds initially hoped Diaz would be able to be reinstated from the injured list Friday, but he'll instead toss a bullpen Saturday prior to throwing a live BP on Monday. Once the right-hander is officially activated, it's possible he takes on a setup role since manager David Bell expressed confidence in Hunter Strickland as the Reds' closer last weekend.
