VerHagen (hip) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday.

VerHagen spent just over three weeks on the injured list, but he recently made a pair of rehab appearances and allowed a run on a hit and a walk while striking out five in 3.2 innings. The right-hander should pitch mainly in lower-leverage situations for the Cardinals now that he's back to full health.

Wilson earned a hold against Atlanta on Friday by allowing no runs over two-thirds of an inning. He surrendered one hit and struck out one.

When Wilson came on in the eighth inning, the Padres were up by only one run. The right-hander retired the first two batters he faced before allowing a single and subsequently being replaced by closer Taylor Rogers, who wrapped up the frame. Wilson's scoreless outing was his fourth straight after he gave up two runs April 30 against Pittsburgh. The right-hander has compiled a 2.51 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB across 14.1 innings on the season. He has racked up three wins, five holds and one save through 14 outings.

Rogers walked one and struck out two over 1.1 scoreless innings to record his 13th save of the season in Friday's 11-6 win over Atlanta.

A four-run outburst in the top of the ninth inning gave the Padres a bigger cushion and made Rogers' job easier as he moved into a tie with Josh Hader for the league lead in saves. Rogers has proven to be a huge pickup for San Diego, posting a 0.64 ERA, 0.57 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB through his first 14 innings for the club while blowing only one save so far.

Graterol (0-2) took the loss against Philadelphia on Friday, allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit and one walk while striking out one over one inning.

The teams went back and forth throughout the game, with Justin Turner's homer in the ninth inning sending the game into extra innings. Graterol was tasked with handling the top of the 10th, but he gave up a double to Nick Castellanos that resulted in two runs, with Castellanos coming around to score on an error by catcher Austin Barnes. The Dodgers mounted a rally in the bottom of the frame but were unable to complete the comeback, resulting in Graterol's second loss of the season. The right-hander has had a tough time of late, giving up four earned runs while posting a 3:2 K:BB across his past five appearances spanning 5.1 innings.

Melancon saved Friday's 4-3 victory over the Cubs, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning.

Making his first appearance since Wednesday's meltdown, Melancon was trusted to protect a one-run lead and delivered. The successful outing got his ERA down to 6.17, though if Tuesday's outing were removed the mark would be a much more respectable 3.27.

Hicks (1-3) allowed three runs on three hits and two walks over five innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against San Francisco.

Hicks gave up an RBI single to Luis Gonzalez in the second inning followed by Mike Yastrzemski's two-run double in the third. It was the longest outing of Hicks' MLB career and the first time this season that he allowed more than two runs. His ERA is up to 4.15 with a 21:12 K:BB through 21.2 innings. Hicks is expected to face the Mets on the road next week.

Hader picked up his league-leading 13th save Friday against the Marlins after throwing a scoreless ninth inning.

Unusually for a pitcher with a 40 percent strikeout rate on the season, Hader got the job done without any whiffs, but he never ran into any trouble, either. After entering with a 2-1 lead, he got Jazz Chisholm and Jesus Aguilar to ground out before retiring Jorge Soler on a flyout.

Williams (2-0) earned the win Saturday against the Marlins after throwing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

Williams was tasked with preserving a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the eighth and accomplished his task easily, sandwiching a flyout between a pair of strikeouts. The Brewers then scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning on a bases-loaded walk by Jace Peterson. The outing lowered Williams' season ERA to 5.25 while raising his strikeout rate to 36.8 percent.

Gott has recovered from the quadriceps injury that bothered him earlier this week, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Gott was unavailable due to the injury Tuesday and Wednesday, but he's apparently good to go coming off Milwaukee's scheduled day off Thursday. Gott has four holds and a 1.64 ERA, 0.64 WHIP and 15:1 K:BB across 11 innings this season.

Lamet was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Lamet allowed runs in only one of his first five appearances this season, but he'll head to the minors after giving up eight earned runs over three frames in his past five outings. Robinson Cano was added to the major-league roster in a corresponding move.
