Gilbreath was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque following Monday's game against the Mets.

Gilbreath appeared in three games during his latest stint with the Rockies, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out two across two frames. The Rockies have yet to announce a corresponding move.

Lamet is listed as the starter for Friday's game against the Astros, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The Padres have handled Lamet with extreme caution thus far this season due to the elbow issue that ended his 2020 campaign prematurely. He didn't make his season debut until late April and immediately hit the injured list for a brief period due to forearm tightness after making just one appearance. Three of his five outings thus far have counted as starts, though he's handled a similar workload in all five, lasting two innings in his first four and three in his most recent appearance. That suggests he's unlikely to last longer than four innings this time around, but a return to the rotation after making multi-inning relief appearances in each of his last two trips to the mound still represents progress.

Yamamoto's sore shoulder is expected to send him to the injured list, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Yamamoto was pulled from his start Sunday against the Marlins due to the injury after allowing five runs in four innings of work. He'll likely hit the injured list to make way for Jacob deGrom (side), who's expected to be activated to start Tuesday against the Rockies.

Martin will start Tuesday against the Giants, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Martin made his big-league debut last Tuesday against the Dodgers, giving up three runs in five innings of work. He wasn't called upon to start again when his turn in the rotation next came up, but he'll get back on the mound a few days later to start on six days' rest against another division rival.

Hernandez (biceps) covered four scoreless frames for Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out eight.

Hernandez pushed his pitch count up to 55 (39 strikes) in his second rehab outing for Jacksonville. The right-hander has looked strong during both of the starts, allowing no runs while posting a 12:2 K:BB in 7.2 innings. The Marlins will likely have Hernandez make one more rehab start for Jacksonville before activating him from the 60-day injured list early next week.

Howard is scheduled to make his second start of the season Thursday against the Marlins, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Howard showed shaky control in his first start of the season Saturday against the Red Sox (two runs allowed on four walks, one hit and one hit batsman), the Phillies weren't deterred enough by the outing to explore other options for the fifth spot in the rotation. The young right-hander should benefit this week from a matchup against a weaker offense in a more pitcher-friendly ballpark in Miami, but he may need to deliver better results to ensure he maintains a spot in the rotation moving forward. Matt Moore (back) could be ready to return from the IL next week and would be a candidate to slot back into the rotation if Howard can't get the job done.

Fulmer was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville after clearing waivers Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Fulmer will remain in the Reds organization after none of the other 29 teams were willing to trade for him or scoop him up off waivers when he was designated for assignment Friday. Before being dropped from the 40-man roster, the right-hander made 20 appearances out of the Cincinnati bullpen, posting a 6.66 ERA and 1.52 WHIP.

Boxberger (1-1) earned the win Sunday against the Reds, recording one strikeout and hitting one batter in one-third of an inning.

Boxberger recorded the final out of the fifth inning after striking out Eugenio Suarez, though he had previously loaded the bases when he hit Tucker Barnhart with a pitch. This was Boxberger's first win of the campaign. He's given up runs in two of his last seven appearances and owns a 4.41 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP across 16.1 innings on the season.

Martin is part of a group of depth starters that may be needed to fill holes in the rotation going forward, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Martin, who had been a potential starter for the weekend series against the Rockies, did not pitch this weekend and is available for multiple spots in the rotation. Taylor Widener, who started Sunday, left after 1.2 innings with groin discomfort. Right-handers Zac Gallen (elbow) and Luke Weaver (shoulder) are already on the injured list. Weaver's getting a second opinion. Along with Martin, who made his first start for the team last week, Seth Frankoff and Matt Peacock made fill-in starts on Arizona's recently completed road trip. The Diamondbacks have not declared starters for home games Tuesday and Wednesday.

Reyes (2-1) lost Sunday's 2-1 match with Chicago, pitching one inning and allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks with two strikeouts.

Reyes entered a scoreless game in the tenth and surrendered a Javier Baez two-run home run before walking two Cubs, but he was able to strike out the next two batters to limit any further damage. The run was only the second Reyes has given up all season, and he remains one of the game's best closer options thanks to a 0.72 ERA and 12.5 K/9.
