Jackson tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Monday's victory over the Marlins.

Jackson allowed two hits and two walks while covering parts of two frames, but he managed to keep the opponent off the scoreboard, and picked up his first hold of the season in the process. Monday's outing was a snap shot of Jackson's latest big-league stint, which dates back to Aug. 18: since that date he has allowed 10 hits and walked five batters over 10.1 frames, but he has allowed just four earned runs (3.48 ERA), thanks mainly to a stellar 16 strikeouts.

Alzolay was optioned to Low-A South Bend on Monday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Alzolay has already pitched 81.2 innings between the majors and minors this season after tossing just 39.2 frames last year, so it's no surprise to see the Cubs managing his workload. Across four appearances with the big club this season, the 24-year-old owns a 7.30 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 13:9 K:BB in 12.1 innings. James Norwood was summoned from the minors in a corresponding move.

Bolanos is listed as the Padres' scheduled starter for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Bolanos joined the Padres' six-man rotation last week after being called up from Double-A Amarillo and acquitted himself well in a road matchup with Arizona, limiting the Diamondbacks to two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. The 23-year-old gets another tough draw in his second turn through the rotation, though it's cushioned somewhat by the fact that he'll be pitching at Petco Park rather than Wrigley Field. The right-hander could make for a decent streaming option in deeper mixed and NL-only leagues.

Ginkel was not used during Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Reds because he was unavailable due to recent usage, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Ginkel had not pitched too much recently -- just twice in the previous five days -- but manager Torey Lovullo was being extra cautious with the rookie. "I want people to understand, the fans to understand," Lovullo said, "when a player like that, a youthful player, comes up and plays September baseball, it's the first extra month of baseball they've ever experienced." Ginkel has also experienced arm issues during his career, including earlier this season when he dealt with elbow inflammation that sidelined him for the month June. The right-hander has become an effective weapon out of the bullpen, allowing one run on three hits and four walks while striking out nine over the last 10.1 innings (0.87 ERA) while recording six holds.

Rodriguez (5-9) took the loss against the Dodgers on Sunday, pitching 4.2 innings and giving up five runs (two earned) on three hits and three walks while striking out four.

Rodriguez struck out the side in the first frame and appeared on track for a successful outing while not allowing a hit through 3.2 innings before surrendering a walk and a homer with two outs in the fourth to give the Dodgers the lead. He then retired two of the first three hitters to begin the fifth, but an error kept the door open for another long ball -- this one a three-run shot by Corey Seager -- and Rodriguez's day was done after issuing a walk to the following batter. The 27-year-old owns a 5.09 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 92 innings this season and will next face Miami on Friday.

Lambert yielded one run on five hits and three walks over five innings Sunday, striking out four batters in the loss to San Diego. He did not factor in the decision.

It wasn't a terribly impressive start, but it was a good turnaround for Lambert after allowing 11 runs combined in his previous two outings. The 22-year-old rookie still owns an ugly 6.86 ERA alongside a 54:32 K:BB. He'll get a rematch against the Padres at home on Saturday.

Hader struck out the only two batters he faced Sunday, earning the save over the Cubs in an 8-5 win.

Hader has been on fire lately, posting a 15:1 K:BB over 9.1 scoreless frames since Aug. 25, lowering his ERA from 3.02 to 2.59 during that span. He's now 29-for-35 in save opportunities on the year despite his struggles in July and August.

Neris gave up two hits with no walks and struck out two through a scoreless inning to record his 24th save in a 10-7 win over the Mets on Sunday.

Neris allowed the tying run to come to the plate with only one out, but he worked his way out of trouble to nail down his 24th save of the season. Neris has only allowed one earned run and has a 0.68 ERA in his last 14 appearances. The 30-year-old has a 2.95 ERA and 80 strikeouts overall through 61 innings this season.

Ponce de Leon struck out three and worked around a walk in a scoreless inning of relief In Saturday's 10-1 win.

Ponce de Leon was called up from Triple-A Memphis for a spot start in the second game of a Sept. 1 doubleheader with the Reds, but he shifted to the bullpen once he had a chance to recover from the four-inning outing. So long as the Cardinals' continue to jockey for playoff positioning and the team's top five starters remain healthy, Ponce de Leon doesn't look like he'll be in line to re-enter the rotation. According to Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, manager Mike Shildt confirmed as much Saturday, when he provided an outline for the Cardinals' rest-of-season pitching schedule that didn't include Ponce de Leon.

Yamamoto (forearm) is expected to throw a bullpen session within the next few days, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Once Yamamoto gets back on the mound, the Marlins will reassess his likelihood of pitching again before the regular season wraps up Sept. 29. Assuming Yamamoto's bullpen session goes well, manager Don Mattingly said he expects the rookie to pitch a simulated game in the Marlins' fall instructional league before returning from the 10-day injured list. Yamomoto has been on the shelf since Aug. 28 with a right forearm strain.
