Hudson (15-6) allowed one hit and two walks while striking out two across six scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Giants.

The lone hit Hudson allowed came on a single by Kevin Pillar in the second frame, but he went to retire eight consecutive Giants until walking Brandon Crawford to lead off the fifth inning. Hudson generated 10 of his 18 outs via groundball, a skill he's leaned on throughout the season. Hudson has now turned in a scoreless effort in four of his last five outings, lowering his ERA from 4.01 to 3.40 in that span. He'll look to keep that run going in his next start, but will be in a tough environment Tuesday at Coors Field.

Kimbrel was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with right elbow inflammation, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

This move comes after Kimbrel was tagged for three runs in his most recent appearance, which came Sunday against the Brewers. An MRI came back clean, and the right-hander will be eligible to return next Thursday should he prove ready. Kimbrel has struggled since latching on with the Cubs in June, posting a 5.68 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 19 innings. David Bote was summoned from the minors in a corresponding move, while Rowan Wick, Steve Cishek and Pedro Strop are all options to see save chances while Kimbrel is sidelined.

Quijada was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Quijada is back with the big club following a brief stay in the minors. The 23-year-old southpaw has made 27 appearances for the Marlins this season, notching a 5.55 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 35:23 K:BB across 24.1 innings.

Gallegos (3-2) was charged with both a loss and a blown save against the Giants on Wednesday, allowing an earned run on a hit and a walk while recording three strikeouts over 1.2 innings.

Gallegos' troubles can be boiled down to the four-seam fastball that Kevin Pillar, the first batter he faced upon entering in the eighth inning, sent over the left-field wall with Brandon Crawford aboard for a 440-foot, tie-breaking home run. It was the second straight appearance in which Gallegos allowed a ball to leave the yard after not surrendering a homer between May 26 and Aug. 31. Despite the recent stumbles, Gallegos remains a trusted bullpen asset with a 2.27 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and stellar 84:13 K:BB across 63.1 innings.

Smith struck out three and walked two across 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Smith entered the game in the eighth inning and stranded the tying run at third base by striking out Paul Goldschmidt. He surrendered two walks in the ninth frame but ultimately recovered to earn his 31st save of the season. He's been one of the more consistent closers throughout the campaign, maintaining a 2.90 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 85 strikeouts across 59 frames.

Morejon (shoulder) won't pitch again for the Padres this season, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Morejon has been on the injured list since early August with the left shoulder impingement and won't rejoin the Friars this season. It's the second time in 2019 the 20-year-old has battled a shoulder impingement, but Morejon is progressing towards a return to full health and has resumed throwing. He allowed nine runs on 15 hits over eight frames in his first taste of the majors this season.

Iglesias struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 29th save of the season in an 8-5 win over the Phillies.

The right-hander has been struggling lately, getting scored upon in five of his last 10 appearances, but he was able to get the job done Wednesday. Iglesias has a 4.47 ERA and 78:20 K:BB through 58.1 innings as he closes in on his second straight 30-save season.

Dominguez received good news after having his elbow examined and is set to resume his throwing program, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Dominguez has seemingly been in limbo since injuring his elbow in early June, but he is ready to give throwing a shot for the first time in nearly a month. There's still a chance Dominguez could return to action before this season comes to a close, but he will need to avoid any further hiccups; even then, he will only have a matter of weeks to make significant progress.

Shaw (2-2) was the pitcher of record in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Dodgers after giving up a pair of solo home runs and retiring one hitter in relief.

Starter Chi Chi Gonzalez cruised through the first six innings before running into trouble in the bottom of the seventh, when he allowed two of three batters he faced to reach base before being pulled. Shaw was called on to put out the fire and induced a lineout from Enrique Hernandez before surrendering a go-ahead, three-run home run to Russell Martin. Since surprising with a two-inning, six-strikeout performance of this same Dodgers team July 30, Shaw has allowed 11 earned runs over his last 12 innings, ballooning his ERA to 5.54 in the process.

Wilson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett following Tuesday's game against Toronto.

It's a bit of an odd move, as the Braves have no reason to clear a spot due to the expanded September rosters. Perhaps the team simply felt they weren't going to use him the rest of the way. He got knocked around for a pair of runs in 1.1 innings in Tuesday's contest and owns a poor 7.20 ERA in 20 total innings on the season.
