Webb was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett and placed on the 60-day injured list with a right elbow impingement.

The move frees up a 40-man roster spot for Billy Hamilton, who was claimed off waivers. Webb is likely done for the season after logging a 1.39 ERA in 36 MLB appearances and a 6.97 ERA in 10 appearances at Triple-A.

Wilson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

He did not pitch during this latest stint in the majors. Wilson has been excellent to close the season at Triple-A (one earned run and 25 strikeouts over his last 27 innings), but that success has not translated this season in the majors. He will provide bullpen depth when rosters expand in September.

Rodriguez is slated to make his next start Wednesday against the Cubs, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Rodriguez earned a second turn through the rotation after keeping the Diamondbacks off the board across seven three-hit frames last week, when he was summoned from Triple-A Sacramento for a spot start. The right-hander may need another respectable showing versus Chicago to build a case for sticking in the San Francisco rotation for the rest of the season. The Giants are expected to return Shaun Anderson (finger) and Johnny Cueto (elbow) from the injured list within the next couple of weeks, putting two of Rodriguez, Tyler Beede and Logan Webb at risk of losing their starting jobs.

Avila (elbow) was placed on Double-A Amarillo's 7-day injured list Sunday, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

In his first rehab appearance with Amarillo on Thursday, Avila completed 1.1 innings before going to the ground and clutching his right elbow in pain after throwing a pitch. Avila has previously spent time on the IL this season with an elbow strain, though the Padres have yet to announce an update on his latest injury. The move to the injured list is retroactive to Aug. 16.

The Diamondbacks purchased Tonkin's contract Monday from the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He'll be assigned to Triple-A Reno.

Tonkin had previously spent time in the Rangers and Brewers organizations in 2019 before signing with Long Island in mid-June. The 29-year-old apparently made a positive impression on the Diamondbacks during his stint in independent ball and will be given a look in the Pacific Coast League as the season winds down. Tonkin has previously made 141 relief appearances at the big-league level, with his last MLB action coming in 2017.

Reyes (pectoral) remains without a timetable to resume a throwing program, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. "He's been evaluated a couple of different times, he's had a couple of different opinions," manager Mike Shildt said Sunday. "No one has seen anything different, necessarily. But Alex is not in a throwing mode. He's in a rehabilitation mode to get back to throwing."

Reyes last picked up a baseball Aug. 5, when he felt pain in his recovering pectoral area during a bullpen session. He was subsequently evaluated by the team's medical staff and encouraged to seek a second opinion after the exam failed to reveal any new injury. While there haven't been any granular details on the status of that follow-up evaluation, Shildt did confirm Sunday that Reyes is currently rehabbing at a team facility that is neither in Memphis or at Cardinals camp in Jupiter, Florida.

Kimbrel pitched two-thirds of an inning in a non-save situation against Pittsburgh on Sunday, allowing a solo home run and hitting one batter while striking out two.

Making his first appearance since landing on the injured list Aug. 5 with right knee inflammation, Kimbrel came on in the ninth inning and immediately served up a solo blast to Starling Marte. He then hit Cole Tucker with a pitch before whiffing the next two batters. The outing was a microcosm of Kimbrel's season thus far, as he has converted nine of 11 save chances and racked up 19 strikeouts in 13.1 innings while posting a 6.08 ERA and giving up five home runs.

Yates struck out the side during the ninth to record a save in a 3-2 victory against the Phillies on Sunday.

The 32-year-old has two blown saves during the second half, but he's only allowed one earned run in 11 innings since the All-Star break. That's dropped his ERA a smidge to 1.10. He also has 35 saves with three blown opportunities, a 0.82 WHIP and 81 strikeouts in 50 innings this season.

Lambert allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out two batters in the no-decision during the win over Miami.

Though he achieved a quality start that lowered his season ERA to 6.55 in 66 innings, Lambert again wasn't dominant; he's struck out just four batters in his last three starts. Lambert will face the Cardinals on the road Friday.

Yamamoto allowed two runs on a walk and four hits over 5.2 innings Sunday, striking out nine batters in the loss to the Rockies. He did not factor in the decision.

The 23-year-old rookie set a new career high with the nine punchouts. The two runs he allowed came in the form of solo shots by Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon. Yamamoto lowered his ERA to 4.31 with a solid 66:26 K:BB over 64.2 frames. He'll face the Phillies at home Saturday.
