Diaz pitched a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts to earn his 16th save in a 5-4 victory against the Cubs on Friday.

The right-hander induced a flyout and then two strikeouts to end the game on just 12 pitches. It was the efficiency owners wanted to see after Diaz allowed four runs across his last three innings before Friday. He is 1-4 with a 3.64 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 29.2 innings this season. Diaz is also 16-for-19 in save opportunities.

Sborz was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday due to lower back soreness, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Sborz made his big-league debut Thursday night, allowing three runs on two hits and a walk over one inning of work, but he'll now head to the shelf with a back injury. Matt Beaty was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Nelson isn't guaranteed to keep his spot in the rotation going forward, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Nelson has made three starts for the Brewers this season after a long absence due to shoulder surgery. He's allowed 13 runs in 12 innings while walking 10 batters. The team would likely love to give him the chance to work through his struggles but can't afford many more poor starts while in the middle of a competitive playoff race.

Brigham was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on Friday.

Brigham had only just been sent down to New Orleans on Thursday. He owns an unimpressive 5.87 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP in 7.2 innings of work for the Marlins this season. Jorge Alfaro (concussion) was placed on the IL in a corresponding move to allow for Brigham's quick return.

De Los Santos will start Sunday against Miami, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

The Phillies will need an extra arm after playing a doubleheader Wednesday. De Los Santos owns a 5.19 ERA in 26 career innings at the highest level, though he owns a strong 3.28 ERA in eight starts for Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season.

Garcia (1-0) picked up the win in Thursday's extra-innings victory over the Cardinals, giving up two hits and striking out one in two scoreless innings of relief.

The southpaw held St. Louis at bay in the ninth and 10th innings before JT Riddle was able to connect on a game-winning homer in the top of the 11th. Garcia now has a 4.67 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB through 17.1 big-league innings this season, and he'll likely continue to work primarily in lower-leverage spots.

Wilson (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session within the next couple days, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

Wilson was pulled from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse earlier this week due to left elbow tightness, but he's set to resume his throwing program after an MRI came back negative. The 31-year-old has been battling left elbow soreness since late April but appeared to be nearing his activation prior to the setback. Wilson's new return timeline may come into focus following the bullpen session.

Jansen earned a save against the Giants on Thursday, completing one inning and giving up one run on two hits and one walk.

Jansen was certainly expecting a night off after the Dodgers entered the ninth inning with a 9-4 lead, but a string of three consecutive San Francisco baserunners to lead off the inning netted two runs and resulted in Jansen being called upon to close out the victory. He responded by allowing an additional three straight hitters to reach base on a pair of singles and a walk, but managed to squeeze out the save by the skin of his teeth by inducing an incredibly close out at third base that was deemed inconclusive by replay officials followed by a pair of deep flyouts. Despite a 3.52 ERA this season, Jansen ranks second in the majors with 22 saves and is on pace to surpass the 40-save mark for the fourth time in his career.

Mayers (lat) threw a bullpen session Thursday and will throw either live batting practice or a simulated game Sunday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Mayers has been out since late April and will therefore presumably need a relatively extensive rehab assignment before activation. However, the right-hander will need to get through his live BP session or sim game Sunday before he can head out to a minor-league affiliate.

Helsley (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Thursday and will throw either a live batting practice or simulated game Sunday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. "Feeling better," Helsley said. "Moving in the right direction. The bullpen felt good today, but I'm trying to take it easy and not rush back too quick."

Helsley was cleared to resume throwing Monday and is apparently getting along in his recovery without setbacks. The right-hander's activity Sunday will help determine the next steps in his rehabilitation process, with at least one minor-league game a possibility.
