Brewers' Carlos Rodriguez: Rejoins big club
The Brewers recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Ron Marinaccio RP | SD
Padres' Ron Marinaccio: Retreats to Triple-A
The Padres optioned Marinaccio to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.
Marinaccio's latest stint in the big leagues lasted less than a week, as he had been called up from El Paso on Saturday. He made a two-inning relief appearance later that day against the Dodgers but had gone unused out of the bullpen in the Padres' last three games. Marinaccio will give up his spot on the active roster to lefty JP Sears, who was recalled ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Giants.

Evan Sisk P | PIT
Pirates' Evan Sisk: Sent back to Indianapolis
The Pirates optioned Sisk to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.
Acquired from the Royals at the trade deadline, Sisk initially reported to Indianapolis before the Pirates recalled him last Friday. The team wasted no time putting Sisk to work, as he made relief appearances four of the past five days and was charged with three earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out four across 3.1 innings. He'll head back to the minors and give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to Johan Oviedo, who was recalled ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Bryce Jarvis RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Bryce Jarvis: Back in big-league bullpen
The Diamondbacks recalled Jarvis from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Jarvis has made eight appearances for Arizona this season, allowing seven runs with a 13:7 K:BB over 14.1 innings. He's pitched exclusively as a starter at Reno, so Jarvis will offer some length out of the big-league bullpen.

Andrew Hoffmann SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Andrew Hoffmann: Heading back to minors
The Diamondbacks optioned Hoffmann to Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Hoffmann was unscored upon in his first three appearances for the Diamondbacks but was touched up for a total of five runs across his last three outings. His spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen will be absorbed by Bryce Jarvis, who was recalled from Reno.

Giants' Carson Seymour: Fans three in bulk relief
Seymour surrendered one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out three across three innings in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Padres.
Seymour worked in long relief once again, logging three innings for the fourth time in nine appearances this season. The right-hander threw 33 of his 54 pitches for strikes and recorded at least three strikeouts for the third time. He owns a 3.92 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB, allowing six home runs in 20.2 innings.

Giants' Spencer Bivens: Allows one run vs. San Diego
Bivens allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk across 1.1 innings in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Padres.
Bivens entered the game with one out and the bases loaded in the fourth. He walked one batter, forcing in a run, but prevented the Padres from doing further damage. The right-hander ran into trouble in the fifth, giving up two singles, a double and a run before being pulled with two outs and a runner on. The 31-year-old has appeared in 10 games since the All-Star break, posting a 6.89 ERA, 2.11 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB across 15.2 innings during that span.

Justin Lawrence RP | PIT
Pirates' Justin Lawrence: Begins rehab assignment
Lawrence (elbow) walked one and struck out three in a scoreless frame in his first rehab appearance with Single-A Bradenton on Tuesday.
Lawrence is finally game-ready again after missing nearly four months with right elbow inflammation. He'll likely require a handful of rehab outings before rejoining the Pirates bullpen. Lawrence had permitted just one run with a 15:6 K:BB over 11.1 frames before getting injured.

Tim Mayza RP | PHI
Pirates' Tim Mayza: Sent out on rehab assignment
Mayza (lat) allowed two hits and struck out one in two-thirds of an inning in his first rehab appearance with Single-A Bradenton on Tuesday.
Mayza has been shelved since late April with a left lat strain but is gearing up for a return to the Pittsburgh bullpen. Given the amount of time he's missed, he'll likely require a few more rehab appearances before being activated from the 60-day injured list. The veteran lefty had yielded only three runs with an 8:1 K:BB over 9.1 innings for Pittsburgh before getting hurt.

Riley O'Brien RP | STL
Cardinals' Riley O'Brien: Shuts door on Marlins
O'Brien earned the save in a 7-4 win over the Marlins on Tuesday. He did not allow a hit but walked two and also struck out two in a scoreless inning.
O'Brien was called upon for the save chance after JoJo Romero pitched against the heart of the Miami order in the eighth. Things did not begin well for O'Brien, who walked consecutive batters to open up the inning, but he rebounded with back-to-back strikeouts before getting a groundout to end the game. O'Brien now has two saves to Romero's three since the departure of Ryan Helsley at the deadline. O'Brien has found his footing this season, posting a 1.56 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 34:17 K:BB in 34.2 innings.
