The Dodgers recalled Salazar from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Through seven starts at Triple-A, Salazar has posted a 5.61 ERA and 1.78 WHIP across 33.2 innings. Although he's been used exclusively as a starter in the minors this season, he will come out of the bullpen for the Dodgers, giving the team depth during its bullpen game Wednesday against the Giants. Gus Varland was optioned to Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Raley was diagnosed with a UCL strain in his left elbow after undergoing further imaging, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Mendoza noted that Raley's UCL is healing, but the Mets will shut him down for two weeks before re-evaluating him, at which point the team will determine next steps. The left-hander has been on the injured list since April 21 and was initially expected to be activated after the 15-day minimum, but he hasn't made any significant progress toward a return to throwing.

The Rangers selected Anderson's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesdday.

He'll make his return to the big leagues for the first time since the 2022 season, when he made a one-inning relief appearance for Toronto. After spending the 2023 campaign overseas in Korea, Anderson returned stateside and signed a minor-league deal with Texas in April. He had been working as a starter for Round Rock prior to his promotion, turning in a 2.53 ERA and 1.04 WHIP while striking out 22 over 21.1 innings. Anderson will operate as a long-relief option initially, but he could be called upon to join the rotation if Nathan Eovaldi (groin) or Dane Dunning (shoulder) aren't ready to return from the 15-day injured list by the time the Rangers next require a fifth starter May 25 in Minnesota.

The Brewers reinstated Clarke (knee) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Clarke has been sidelined all season after undergoing surgery in late March to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. The 31-year-old right-hander pitched one inning and gave up a home run during his lone rehab outing, and he'll officially remain in the minors now that he's recovered. Clarke owns a 5.03 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across his MLB career, though he may still be promoted from Nashville later this season should Milwaukee run into further issues with its pitching depth.

Romano (1-1) took a loss and a blown save in Wednesday's 3-2 defeat to the Orioles, allowing two runs on two hits without recording an out in the ninth inning.

Called upon to protect a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth, Romano gave up an infield single to Jordan Westburg leading off the frame before Adley Rutschman launched a two-run, walk-off homer. It's the first blown save of the year for Romano -- he'd been 6-for-6 in save chances prior to Wednesday. The 31-year-old right-hander sports a 5.06 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB through his first 10.2 innings this season.

The Cubs recalled Little from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, Ryan Herrera of MLB.com reports.

Little has permitted seven runs over nine relief innings during his time in the big leagues this season. The 6-foot-8 left-hander will operate in low-leverage situations.

The Cubs placed Thompson on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a viral illness, Ryan Herrera of MLB.com reports.

He will be sidelined at least until late May while he recovers from the ailment. Luke Little was recalled from Triple-A Iowa to take Thompson's spot on the Cubs' 26-man active roster and in their bullpen.

The Athletics recalled Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Harris was optioned to Las Vegas just one week earlier, but he'll be eligible to rejoin Oakland since he'll be taking the active roster spot of Alex Wood (shoulder), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. Wood's injury will create an opening in the rotation this weekend in Kansas City, and if Harris isn't used in relief Wednesday or Thursday in Houston, he could be a candidate to fill the void. Harris has started in all seven of his appearances for Las Vegas this season, logging a 7.56 ERA and 1.92 WHIP over 25 innings in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.

The Athletics selected Brooks' contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Brooks will start Wednesday's game in Houston in what will be his first start at the major-league level since Sept. 13, 2019. The 34-year-old has posted a 4.57 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB in 43.1 innings this season with Las Vegas and won't make for an appealing streaming option.

Miller, who'd pitched just once in the previous 11 games entering Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Astros, threw 14 fastballs of at least 100.5 mph out of his 29 pitches during his two scoreless innings, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Miller's arm was clearly fresh, and manager Mark Kotsay deployed his closer for multiple innings in the tie game as a result. Miller rewarded him by recording five strikeouts -- including of the noteworthy trio of Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Pena -- over his 29 pitches. The elite velocity helped Miller to his 13th straight scoreless outing and extended his career-high scoreless streak to 17.1 innings. The improved - but still inconsistent - Athletics have afforded Miller just eight save chances among his 14 appearances, but he's converted each and now boasts a minuscule 0.98 ERA and 0.65 WHIP alongside a 38:5 K:BB across 18.1 innings.
