Gott will undergo Tommy John surgery after being diagnosed with a fully torn UCL in his right elbow, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

It's not clear how long the elbow has been bothering Gott, but he was blasted for eight runs in three innings this spring. He had been in the high-leverage mix for the Athletics but instead will miss the entire 2024 campaign. Gott will become a free agent after the season.

Hentges (finger) will begin the season on the injured list, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

There's no word yet on a specific diagnosis for Hentges' finger injury, but it's apparently bad enough that a stint on the IL will be required. It's a blow to the Guardians' bullpen, as he boasts a 2.91 ERA and 128:37 K:BB over 114.1 innings across the last two seasons.

Beede was informed Friday he made the Guardians' Opening Day roster, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander signed with Cleveland as a non-roster invitee in January and earned a roster spot by posting a 1.69 ERA with a 10:4 K:BB over 10.2 frames in spring training. Beede spent last season pitching in Japan and had a 4.08 ERA and 1.45 WHIP across 75 innings. He still needs to be officially added to the club's 26-man and 40-man rosters.

The Yankees optioned Andrews to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Acquired via trade last month, Andrews struggled this spring and posted a 9.53 ERA over five appearances. He'll provide left-handed relief depth in the minors.

Hjelle (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The tall right-hander is ready to take the next step in his throwing progression as he works his way back from a partial UCL tear in his pitching elbow. Hjelle will need time on the injured list, but the hope is that he can avoid Tommy John surgery.

The Tigers reassigned Anderson to minor-league camp Friday.

Anderson impressed early in camp as a non-roster invitee, but he ended up with a 7.88 ERA in his six spring appearances. The right-hander spent the past two seasons pitching in Japan, and he'll likely be one of Detroit's top options for a promotion when bullpen depth is needed.

The White Sox optioned Berroa (shoulder) to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Berroa looks like he might be past his shoulder issue, but the White Sox have elected to send the hard-throwing reliever to Charlotte for a while. He still figures to play an important role in the big-league bullpen this season.

The Diamondbacks optioned Saalfrank to Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Saalfrank had a key role down the stretch for the Diamondbacks last season, but he had minor-league options remaining and that might have worked against him. The southpaw will likely to spend plenty of time in Arizona's bullpen this season.

Bradford looks to no longer have a spot in the Rangers' rotation following the addition of Michael Lorenzen, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

After signing earlier this week, Lorenzen confirmed in an interview Friday that he will join the Rangers' rotation. Bradford had previously been named the team's fifth starter but now could shift to the bullpen or Triple-A Round Rock, although it's possible he will be needed for a start or two if Lorenzen isn't deemed ready yet.

Finnegan (back) allowed one earned run on three hits with one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins. He was struck on his right foot by a comebacker in the top of the seventh inning but quickly waved off the training staff and insisted he was fine, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The right-hander was fortunate that the comebacker struck the padded portion of the heel of his right shoe, absorbing the impact. Finnegan had been sidelined for over a week due to lower-back tightness, but he said after Thursday's appearance that he felt "great" physically. While he has Hunter Harvey breathing down his neck for save chances, Finnegan appears in line to open the season as the primary closer in Washington. He's expected to make one more appearance this spring to prepare for Opening Day.
