Arano (shoulder) elected free agency Thursday after passing through waivers unclaimed, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Arano did not pitch at any level with the Nationals this season after being diagnosed with a right shoulder strain in March and undergoing a surgical repair in June. The 28-year-old reliever enjoyed a good run of success with the Phillies between 2017-19, but he's battled both injuries and ineffectiveness over the last handful of years.

Solomon elected free agency Thursday.

Solomon, 27, got into five games with the Diamondbacks this season, getting roughed up for 18 runs over 13.1 frames. He'll surely have to settle for a minor-league pact this winter.

Underwood elected to become a free agent Wednesday.

Underwood put up a 5.18 ERA and 1.44 WHIP through 24.1 innings with Pittsburgh in 2023, and his numbers in Triple-A weren't much better (6.30 ERA and 1.35 WHIP). The 29-year-old righty will now look to latch on with another organization -- likely on a minor-league deal.

Hudson (knee) is scheduled to pitch in an intrasquad game Thursday at Dodger Stadium, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Hudson has been sidelined since early July because of a sprained MCL in his right knee and won't be ready for the NLDS, but he is aiming to return to the Dodgers' bullpen if they advance to the NLCS. The veteran reliever resumed facing live hitters in late September and has progressed without issue so far.

Logue elected to become a free agent Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Logue, 27, made only three major-league appearances with the Tigers this season and posted an ugly 6.58 ERA and 85:44 K:BB over 90.1 innings for Triple-A Toledo. The left-hander will likely have to settle for a minor-league contract on the open market.

The Athletics outrighted Lovelady (forearm) to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Lovelady held a 4.63 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 24:10 K:BB through 23.1 innings of relief this season with the A's before missing the entire second half because of a severe left forearm strain. The 28-year-old southpaw is officially off the 40-man roster in Oakland, though he'll remain part of the organization for the time being.

Oakland outrighted Neal to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Neal passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment. He will remain part of the organization for now but can elect to become a free agent. The 34-year-old right-hander struggled to a 6.67 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 25:14 K:BB over 27 innings of work this season with the Athletics.

Oakland outrighted Pruitt (forearm) to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Pruitt posted a solid 2.98 ERA and 30:12 K:BB through 48.1 innings this season for the Athletics before finishing the year on the injured list following a late-August diagnosis of a right forearm strain. The 34-year-old can now elect to become a free agent and seems likely to do so.

Kimbrel allowed one hit in a scoreless inning to record a save in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Marlins in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series.

Kimbrel gave up a double to Josh Bell to put a run in scoring position, but he managed to close the door on the Marlins' hopes of coming back in Game 1. Kimbrel blew two of four save opportunities in September, despite an impressive 1.50 ERA in that stretch. However, the veteran right-hander is now a perfect 8-for-8 in save chances in the postseason over his career while posting a 3.96 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 27 strikeouts across 25 innings.

Duran closed out the save in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jays in Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series, allowing one walk in a scoreless inning. He struck out two.

The young right-hander led the team with 27 saves in 59 regular-season games and the Twins unsurprisingly turned to him again in the ninth inning to close out Tuesday's win. Duran was making his first career appearance as a closer in the postseason. Also foreseeable were his two strikeouts, as Duran carried a 12.1 K/9 across 62.1 innings during the season.
