Weaver was signed by the Mariners to a major-league contract and was added to the active roster Tuesday.

Weaver was released by the Reds after he allowed four runs in two of his last three starts. Following the All-Star break, his ERA rose as high as 7.22 and currently sits at 6.87. The signing comes the same day Emerson Hancock was moved to the 60-day injured list with a right shoulder strain. The Mariners had planned on operating with a six-man rotation prior to Hancock's injury, so Weaver could slot into that spot or work as a long man out of the bullpen.

The Giants optioned Hjelle to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Hjelle surrendered six earned runs on 10 hits over 4.2 innings of long relief in Monday's series opener against the Phillies. He carries an 8.59 ERA across 22 total major-league innings this year.

San Francisco activated Walker from the paternity list Tuesday.

Walker will return to the Giants' bullpen mix Tuesday night in Philadelphia after welcoming a new addition to his growing family. The 27-year-old right-hander has posted a stellar 2.23 ERA and 50:13 K:BB across his first 44.1 major-league innings this season.

Antone (elbow) agreed Sunday to extend his rehab assignment an additional 10 days, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

After opening his rehab assignment July 25, Antone was nearing the end of his 30-day rehab window, but MLB rules will allow him to extend the assignment because he's working his way back from August 2021 Tommy John surgery. Antone was initially expected to be fully cleared for spring training, but those plans were thwarted when he suffered a right flexor strain while rehabbing over the winter. He appears to have steered clear of any further setbacks since he started throwing again in April, and he's turned in respectable results thus far during his rehab assignment. In seven appearances at Triple-A Louisville, Antone has given up four earned runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out seven over 7.1 innings.

The Cardinals selected Barnes' contract from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday.

Barnes has spent all of this season at the Triple-A level, collecting a 2.47 ERA and 45:22 K:BB over 51 innings at three different stops. The 33-year-old reliever will provide a fresh arm to a Cards' bullpen that's been overworked.

Marte (elbow) was activated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Marte struck out 10 batters and allowed two hits and two walks over 5.2 scoreless innings across five appearances for Salt Lake since moving his rehab assignment from the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Aug. 8. He hasn't pitched in the majors this season while recovering from a right elbow stress reaction, and the Angels have opted to give him a little more time at Salt Lake. Marte owns a 7.80 ERA over 15 career appearances in the majors and would likely have to settle for a lower-leverage role out of the bullpen when he's given a chance with the big club.

Treinen (shoulder) began a rehab assignment Tuesday in the Arizona Complex League, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Treinen has been sidelined all year following offseason shoulder surgery, but he's on the right track now with a return to live appearances in the ACL. In his rehab debut Tuesday, he retired the side in order on two strikeouts and a flyout. The veteran reliever could become an option for the Dodgers' bullpen sometime around early-to-mid September if he continues to prove his health and effectiveness on the farm.

Rodriguez (shoulder) was spotted throwing off a mound Monday at the Angels' spring training complex in Arizona, Jared Tims of TalkinHalos.com reports.

Rodriguez hasn't made an appearance in affiliated ball since 2021 after he required surgery in October of that year to repair a torn right shoulder capsule. Though the right-hander reported to spring training healthy and even faced hitters, he was placed on the IL to begin the season since the Angels wanted to give him more time to build up to a starter's workload, per MLB.com. Unfortunately for Rodriguez, he experienced a small setback in April followed by a more significant setback in May, prompting the Angels to shut him down for an extended period. He now appears to have resumed a throwing program, but Rodriguez still has multiple checkpoints to hit before the Angels will clear him to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Hill (finger) will throwing a simulated game Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Assuming he gets out of the session with no complications, Hill should be cleared to resume a rehab assignment. The left-handed reliever won't require too many rehab appearances before being activated, so a late-August return is on the table.

Coleman (0-2) allowed two runs on one hit and a hit-by-pitch without recording an out to take the loss Monday versus the Athletics.

Coleman plunked Ryan Noda and then served up a walk-off two-run home run to Brent Rooker in the ninth inning. The right-hander has nine appearances in August, but he's completed an inning in just three of them. He's given up five runs (four earned) over 5.2 frames this month, and a 7:7 K:BB and four hit batsmen indicates unsteady control. Overall, Coleman has an 8.84 ERA, 2.02 WHIP and 21:19 K:BB through 18.1 innings this season.
