The Giants placed Walker on the paternity list Saturday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Walker will be allowed to miss up to three games as he spends time with his expanding family. Casey Schmitt was brought up in a corresponding move to bolster the Giants' infield depth.

The Giants recalled Hjelle from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With Ross Stripling (back) headed for the injured list, Hjelle will come up from the minors to add extra depth to San Francisco's pitching staff. The 26-year-old righty has struggled this season in both the majors and minors, and he likely will be limited to low-leverage situations while with the Giants.

The Dodgers recalled Hudson from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

With Tony Gonsolin (forearm) headed for the injured list, Hudson will come up from the minors to provide Los Angeles' bullpen with additional depth. The 26-year-old southpaw has looked impressive through 45.2 innings in Triple-A with a 2.76 ERA and 1.28 WHIP, but his talents have yet to translate to the majors. Until Hudson is able to turn things around, he will likely be limited to low-leverage situations.

The Marlins recalled Hartlieb from Triple-A Jacksonville to serve as their 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader with the Dodgers.

Hartlieb has performed well since joining the Marlins organization, putting up a 3.50 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through 36 innings with Jacksonville. However, he holds a 7.49 ERA through 67.1 innings in his major-league career and will almost certainly return to the minors after his duties as a 27th man are complete.

The Cardinals recalled Zuniga from Triple-A Memphis on Saturday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Zuniga holds an unimpressive 7.85 ERA and 1.81 WHIP through 28.1 frames in the minors, but he will be called upon to take the place of James Naile, who was optioned to Triple-A on Saturday. Zuniga has just one inning of major-league experience -- a hitless frame with two strikeouts.

The Cardinals optioned Naile to Triple-A Memphis on Saturday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

After surrendering four runs in three innings Friday, Naile will be cast off the active roster and head back to Triple-A. The 30-year-old righty now holds a 9.64 ERA and 2.50 WHIP through 14 frames in the majors this season despite looking impressive with Memphis. Guillermo Zuniga was recalled in a corresponding move.

Herget joined the Angels' bullpen as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Rays.

Herget has thrown 16 major-league innings this season, struggling to a 5.06 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. That's a far cry from his performance last season, when he cruised to a 2.48 ERA and 0.91 WHIP while earning nine saves.

Criswell was called up to serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Criswell has bounced between a long-relief role in the majors and a rotation spot with Triple-A Durham throughout the year. None of his eight MLB appearances have been starts, but he's averaged 3.5 innings per appearance. His 4.82 ERA and 1.46 WHIP mean he's unlikely to move into a higher-leverage role any time soon.

The Phillies recalled Bellatti from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

With Ranger Suarez (hamstring) headed for the injured list, Bellatti will come up from Triple-A to offer additional pitching depth. The 32-year-old righty holds a 5.06 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in the majors this season through 16 frames and will likely serve in middle relief while with Philadelphia.

Perez (0-1) took the loss as the opener against the Orioles on Friday, allowing three earned runs on four hits over one inning. He struck out one.

Perez wasn't able to give Oakland more than one frame, as he surrendered an RBI single to Ryan Mountcastle and a run-scoring double to Cedric Mullins. The 26-year-old southpaw held the Nationals scoreless over 1.1 innings in his big-league debut last Saturday, but he's subsequently been dinged for runs in his last two outings.
