Joey Krehbiel RP | TB
Orioles' Joey Krehbiel: Exits with shoulder injury
Krehbiel exited Thursday's game against the Mariners with right shoulder discomfort, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.
Krehbiel entered the game in the seventh inning but was only able to face two batters before exiting. It's unclear how serious the issue is, though there should be some level of concern given that the injury is to his throwing arm. Krehbiel had maintained a 2.74 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 16:7 K:BB across 23 frames prior to this appearance.

Joan Adon SP | WAS
Nationals' Joan Adon: Allows 10 baserunners in loss
Adon (1-9) took the loss Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four in 5.1 innings during an 8-1 defeat at the hands of Cincinnati.
The rookie right-hander gave up a three-run blast to Joey Votto in the first inning. The damage could have been greater, but Adon was able to induce two double-play balls during his time on the mound. It was the fifth time in 11 starts that he walked four or more batters, and despite the mediocre showing, the outing actually lowered his ERA to 5.98. Adon's next start is likely to come in Miami next week.

Wandy Peralta RP | SD
Yankees' Wandy Peralta: Picks up first save
Peralta allowed one walk and struck out two across 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Angels.
Peralta entered the game with a five-run lead but with the bases loaded. He retired Jared Walsh to end the threat and closed out the final frame without incident. It was Peralta's first save of the season, and he doesn't figure to find himself in the closer role often with both Aroldis Chapman (Achilles) and Clay Holmes occupying the ninth inning. Even so, Peralta has had an effective start to the campaign by maintaining a 2.08 ERA and 11:6 K:BB across 17.1 frames.

Alex Lange RP | KC
Tigers' Alex Lange: Picks up win Thursday
Lange (3-1) pitched a scoreless inning of relief and earned the win Thursday against the Twins. He walked two and struck out one.
Lange was able to work around the two walks to tally his 10th scoreless appearance across his past 11 outings. The righty has been a bright spot for the 21-30 Tigers, as he now has a 1.74 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 26 strikeouts across 20.2 innings this season. Gregory Soto has also pitched well and seems decently secure in the closer role, but Lange should continue to see high-leverage work.
-
Gregory Soto RP | PIT
Tigers' Gregory Soto: Notches 10th save
Soto pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record the save in Thursday's win over the Twins.
Soto has now closed out wins over Minnesota in his last two appearances, and he's up to 10 saves in 11 chances this season. The lefty has also lowered his ERA to 2.04, and it looks like he's increasing his job security in the closer role after a few rough outings in early May.

Cole Sands RP | MIN
Twins' Cole Sands: Returns to minors
Sands was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.
The Twins returned Sands to the minors after he was designated as the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader with the Tigers. He started the second game of the twin bill and was handed a loss after striking out four over four innings while allowing four earned runs on five hits and four free passes.

Anthony Bender RP | MIA
Marlins' Anthony Bender: Playing catch again
Bender (back) is scheduled to play catch Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
It's the first known throwing activity for Bender since the Marlins placed him on the 15-day injured list May 25. He may not be ready to return to the active roster when first eligible next Monday, but the fact that Bender isn't being shut down bodes well for his chances of avoiding an extended absence. Once he's activated, Bender could re-emerge as a factor in the Marlins' still-unsettled closer picture.

Caleb Ferguson RP | STL
Dodgers' Caleb Ferguson: Gets call-up to majors
Ferguson was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.
The 25-year-old posted a 7.36 ERA and 1.97 WHIP in 7.1 innings over 10 appearances (two starts) in Oklahoma City to begin the year, but he'll join the Dodgers' bullpen after Michael Grove was sent down. Ferguson made a relief appearance for the major-league club in mid-May and struck out one in a scoreless inning. He should pitch mainly in low-leverage situations.
-
Cole Sulser RP | TB
Marlins' Cole Sulser: Melts down again Wednesday
Sulser was charged with his third blown save of the season after allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit while failing to record an out in the Marlins' 13-12 loss in 10 innings in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
Sulser has technically blown two save chances in a row, though his first one came in the seventh inning of Monday's 7-1 loss, when he gave up four runs and failed to record an out while entering the contest with a 1-0 lead. The Marlins' closing picture had already been a hazy one entering the week, but Sulser's consecutive rough outings could prompt manager Don Mattingly to go in a different direction the next time a save opportunity is available.

Jimmy Cordero RP | NYY
Yankees' Jimmy Cordero: Activated, joins Triple-A
Cordero (elbow) was activated from the 7-day injured list Thursday and joined Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune reports.
Cordero is set to make his return from Tommy John surgery, joining Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday. He last pitched in 2020 with the White Sox, posting a 6.08 ERA and 1.58 WHIP with 22 strikeouts over 26.2 innings in 30 appearances. The 28-year-old will likely be on the Yankees' radar for a potential call-up in the coming months.
