Tommy Kahnle RP | BOS
Dodgers' Tommy Kahnle: Shifts to 60-day IL
Kahnle (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Kahnle has been on the injured list since May 17 due to right forearm inflammation, and he's in the midst of a shutdown. The Dodgers haven't yet revealed a timetable for the right-hander's return, but his move to the 60-day IL signals that he'll likely be sidelined until at least after the All-Star break. In spite of Kahnle's lengthy absence, manager Dave Roberts is optimistic that the 32-year-old will return to game action at some point in 2022.

Kyle Nelson RP | ATL
Diamondbacks' Kyle Nelson: Back from injured list
Nelson was activated off the COVID-19 injured list Saturday.
Nelson spent the last 10 days on the injured list but is ready to return without a rehab assignment. His return will be a boost to the Diamondbacks' bullpen, as he owns an excellent 1.23 ERA over 14.2 innings and has struck out 16 batters while walking just two.

Mason Thompson RP | TEX
Nationals' Mason Thompson: Throwing bullpen sessions
Thompson (biceps) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions, Byron Kerr of MLB.com reports.
Thompson remains on the 60-day injured list and doesn't have a timetable for his return, but it's encouraging that he's been able to throw off a mound recently. The Nationals haven't yet revealed when he'll be able to face live hitters.

Hunter Harvey RP | CHC
Nationals' Hunter Harvey: Resumes mound work
Harvey (forearm) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions, Byron Kerr of MLB.com
Harvey has been throwing at the Nationals' extended spring training facility, and he's built up to 20 pitches during his bullpen sessions. The right-hander will continue ramping up before he's cleared to face live hitters, and it's not yet clear when he will return to action.

Austin Pruitt RP | TEX
Athletics' Austin Pruitt: Contract selected by Oakland
Pruitt's contract was selected by the Athletics on Saturday.
Pruitt joined the Athletics on a minor-league deal in March, and he posted a 3.27 ERA and 0.95 WHIP in 22 innings over 12 relief appearances at Triple-A Las Vegas to begin the year. The right-hander made just six major-league appearances between the Marlins and Astros last year, and he should serve mainly as a low-leverage reliever in Oakland.

Jovani Moran RP | BOS
Twins' Jovani Moran: Recalled by Minnesota
Moran was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
The southpaw was sent to the minors in early May, but he'll rejoin the Twins with Danny Coulombe (hip) going on the 15-day injured list. Moran made two relief appearances for the Twins earlier in the year and struck out five over 2.2 scoreless innings.

Danny Coulombe RP | BOS
Twins' Danny Coulombe: Back on injured list
Coulombe was placed on the 15-day injured list with a left hip impingement.
Coulombe was reinstated from the 15-day IL on Friday, but he aggravated his hip injury during his relief appearance against the Royals in which he allowed a run on two hits and two walks in one-third of an inning. The southpaw had a fairly brief stint on the injured list recently, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to miss more time during his latest absence.

Drew VerHagen RP | STL
Cardinals' Drew VerHagen: Grabs win
VerHagen (2-0) retired the only batter he faced to earn the win Friday versus the Brewers.
Dakota Hudson was solid but a little shaky with command, running up a 97-pitch total through 4.2 innings. VerHagen was able to get the final out of the fifth inning with the Cardinals leading, and that lead lasted to the end. This was VerHagen's second win of the year, and they've come in his last three outings, sandwiched around an appearance in which he gave up two runs to the Blue Jays. The right-hander has a solid 3.65 ERA, but his 1.38 WHIP and 8:8 K:BB in 12.1 innings don't inspire much confidence in his long-term success. He'll likely continue to see most of his work in the middle innings.
-
Cionel Perez RP | NYM
Orioles' Cionel Perez: Snags third win
Perez (3-0) retired the only batter he faced to earn the win in Friday's game versus the Red Sox.
Perez got the last out in the eighth inning to keep the game tied at eight, and the Orioles' offense tacked on four runs in the ninth to earn him the win. Perez has not seen much work in high-leverage situations, but he has posted a 0.64 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB across 14 innings. He's added three holds, though his 3.64 FIP and .364 BABIP suggest he's been fairly fortunate in 2022.

Denyi Reyes RP | NYM
Orioles' Denyi Reyes: Called up, poised to start Saturday
The Orioles recalled Reyes from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Zachary Silver of MLB.com. He's expected to start the second game of the team's doubleheader with the Red Sox.
Baltimore also selected the contract of Triple-A rotation mate Cody Sedlock, so Reyes could have a short leash in his first MLB start if Sedlock goes unused in the first game of the twin bill and is available for the nightcap. Over his five outings at Norfolk this season, Reyes has produced a solid 28:5 K:BB across 24 innings, but he's posted a 6.38 ERA and 1.42 WHIP.
