Detmers (3-1) took the loss against Baltimore on Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters over seven innings.

Detmers surrendered four extra-base hits, including two homers, among the six knocks the Orioles managed against him, and he tied his season low with a modest four punchouts. Still, the southpaw registered his longest start of the campaign with seven frames to help the Angels stay close, but the team couldn't complete a ninth-inning rally that could have taken him off the hook for his first loss. Despite the defeat, Detmers has had an overall strong start to the campaign, posting a 2.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 34:10 K:BB through 29.2 innings.

Suarez (1-0) earned the win over the Angels on Monday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings.

Suarez got another turn in the rotation after holding Minnesota scoreless in his season debut Wednesday, and he turned in a very similar pitching line. The right-hander again completed 5.2 scoreless frames, this time getting enough run support to earn his first major-league win since 2016. Suarez has now completed 11.1 scoreless innings to begin the campaign, though his lack of previous big-league success makes it reasonable to question if he can sustain his effectiveness. It's worth noting that the right-hander pitched in Korea over the previous two campaigns, and though he wasn't exactly dominant, it's possible that tenure helped him uncover something that is helping with his approach to major-league hitters. Suarez appears set to stick in Baltimore's rotation for the time being, and he lines up for a favorable matchup against Oakland in his next projected start.

Singer (2-1) allowed five runs on five hits and three walks over six innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against Toronto.

After giving up just four runs through his first four starts, Singer stumbled Monday and found himself in the loss column for the first time. He allowed a three-run double to Bo Bichette in the third inning and a two-run shot to Daulton Varsho in the sixth. After fanning 10 batters in his season debut, Singer has produced a lackluster 18:9 K:BB over his last 22.1 frames. Still, he'll carry a 2.76 ERA into his next start, which is projected to be in Detroit this weekend.

Kikuchi (2-1) yielded two runs on five hits over six innings Monday, striking out four and earning a win over the Royals.

Kikuchi cruised through five shutout frames before serving up a two-run shot to Maikel Garcia in the sixth inning. Kikuchi has now turned in three straight quality starts and has not allowed more than three runs in any outing this season. After a career year in 2023, the veteran southpaw has registered a terrific 2.28 ERA and 33:8 K:BB through five starts in 2024. Kikuchi is in line for a tough home matchup with the Dodgers this weekend.

Cannon dropped to 0-1 on the season in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Twins, allowing six runs on nine hits and one walk over 3.2 innings while striking out five.

Minnesota jumped on Cannon early, plating two runs in the first inning and three more in the third. His day was ended by an RBI double from Edouard Julien in the fourth. Cannon produced a solid MLB debut against the Royals but saw his ERA shoot up to 7.27 after Monday's tough outing. Should he get another turn in the rotation, he's lined up to face the Rays at home this weekend.

Paddack (1-1) allowed six hits over seven shutout innings Monday, striking out 10 and earning a win over the White Sox.

Paddack retired the first 10 batters he faced and, outside of a bases-loaded situation in the fourth inning, didn't face much trouble. It was a dramatic turnaround after the Orioles crushed him for nine runs in his last outing. Monday's start set new season bests for Paddack in nearly every category, including innings and punchouts. He pulled his ERA down to 5.57 with a 19:5 K:BB through 21 innings. Paddack is lined up for a road matchup with the Angels this weekend.

Skubal (3-0) earned the win Monday against the Rays, allowing three hits and no walks over six shutout innings. He struck out nine.

Skubal dominated Monday night, scattering three singles as no Rays hitter reached second base against him. The Detroit southpaw has been tough to hit this year, firing 29.2 innings with a 1.82 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 35:5 K:BB. Skubal is slated to face the Royals at home in his next start.

Littell (1-1) took the loss Monday against the Tigers, allowing five runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

Littell allowed a solo homer to Mark Canha on the third pitch of his start Monday and never seemed to recover. Despite surrendering five runs, Littell managed to generate 15 whiffs and match his season high in strikeouts with seven. The 28-year-old starter sports a 3.33 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 29:5 K:BB over 27 innings. His next start is scheduled against the White Sox on the road.

Woods Richardson will likely start Friday's game for the Twins in Anaheim, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Louie Varland was dispatched to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday, and manager Rocco Baldelli confirmed that Woods Richardson is lined up to join the big-league rotation. Woods Richardson was effective in his lone MLB start earlier this season at Detroit, and he averaged 93.4 mph with his fastball in that outing after sitting at 91 mph with that pitch in 2022 and 2023. If Woods Richardson can just tread water in this role, he could stick in the big-league rotation indefinitely, given Minnesota's lack of viable options behind him on the organizational depth chart.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that Manoah (shoulder) will make his next rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday or Thursday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

In his third and most recent rehab start Friday with Buffalo, Manoah covered 5.2 innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits and no walks while striking out five. Over his last two rehab appearances, Manoah has shown dramatic improvement with his control, as he's issued just one free pass in nine innings. Schneider noted that he liked Manoah's fastball command and slider movement following Friday's outing, and if the right-hander can deliver another positive showing this week with Buffalo, his next start could come in the big-league rotation. Manoah has been on the 15-day injured list all season due to right shoulder inflammation, which kept him out of most of spring training.
